This is gold Jimbo. Qld has probably the best squad in aus rugby. Maybe Thorn’s coaching is the problem in Qld. Naaaaah surely not

'They've got that wrong': Reds denied in wildly controversial finish as Rebels hold on in epic comeback win

Fantastic from EJ. As if he did this without knowing someone would snap and post it. Playing the media circus and whipping up publicity like a pro. This is the man we need at the wallabies.

Make a note: Lynagh and Jorgo catch Eddie's eye as he drafts first Wallabies team, but there's a rebuke for Rory Arnold

Quade certainly didnt keep The same form from 2011-2021. Not sure there is a player that has. In saying that, for me he was the form 10 in Australia for the majority of that period yet not selected by coaches for reasons beyond me. He has an outstanding rugby brain and i wonder if he struggles to articulate this without stepping on toes and bruising egos. Either way hes found the path now and at a time when aus rugby needs him most. Heres to hoping he’s fit and in form for RWC2023.

'I'm not too worried': No return date set for Quade as Wallabies playmaker reveals road to the Rugby World Cup

I reckon he will be answering some tough questions though. Eg. Replacing The starting 10 in the dying minutes twice for 2 losses. In reality the italy game should have been a blowout if not for some shocking kicking from italy, which will raise more difficult questions. Im a fan of Rennie but his failure to adress the discipline issues that seem to cost us so often may bring him unstuck.

'Everything's on the table': RA considers Rennie's future, radical selection oversight, after Italy debacle

What was Cooper like at noah’s age? Cooper at 22 would have been the 2010 and 2011 season. Absolutely setting the world on fire, as were alot of Wallaby propects.

ANALYSIS: The Wallabies have backed the wrong horse as their No.10 project

I’d say so malatru, Either that or celebrating a little too early for which they were bitten

Rugby news: Ref poked furious White and was caught in a fib in post-game clash, Boks deny cocaine rumours

Cheers for the insightful reply “U”. I’ve watched it multiple times to try and make sense of the insanity. In my opinion Foley is certainly accountable. Number one rule is play the ref. But I can also see why he was reluctant to kick while his forwards weren’t paying attention. On the other hand the call from the ref was outrageous, why on earth would he pick a moment like that to draw a line in the sand when every game ( including this one) and every team is guilty of drawing a little time from a penalty when it suits ? It just ruined what was an amazing contest, and who knows, the abs may have closed it out anyway. Wouldn’t that have been an amazing finish to an epic match. Instead Rugby just looks like the poorly officiated joke of international sport.

Rugby news: Ref poked furious White and was caught in a fib in post-game clash, Boks deny cocaine rumours

It didn’t look like foley was running down the clock. Forward we’re in a huddle. Should he kick for touch when his team isn’t ready??? If he misses touch abs score

Rugby news: Ref poked furious White and was caught in a fib in post-game clash, Boks deny cocaine rumours

Tend to agree josh. Initially I was furious with the ref. Then I watched it again and he was clear with foley to kick the ball. Ref blows time on and foley keeps wasting time. The ref can’t be that clear with a player and let the behavior go on. Foley lost us this game not the ref and i think he will face some tough conversations this week.

REACTION: 'Disgraceful!': Wallabies stunned as ref 'cracks under pressure,' hands Bledisloe Cup to All Blacks

Agree, Rennie has no respect for the players grinding it out in super rugby or wallaby camps, what a disgrace. Looks like earning the jersey is no longer essential. I’ve supported the wallabies through tough times but For the first time in memory I actually don’t care to see the game.

'I feel ready now': Kurtley Beale ready to make instant Bledisloe impact after message from Rennie

Well you’re speculating but ok. White made sure the result was correct and with the record of tmo’s it’s hard to blame him. End of the day the wallabies got the deserved advantage.

SA View: 'Should be banished to the bush leagues' - 'Criminally incompetent' ref torched, White's dive 'absolute disgrace'

Why should white be embarrassed. He didn’t take a soccer like dive for no apparent reason. Wallabies are on their own line under pressure. Faff slaps him in the face. Foul play, which breaks the continuity of the run of play……how else does white highlight the foul play. Whether it’s a yc is another question. But he definitely should highlight fafs rubbish tactics to the referee and get the penalty. Not the ideal way to show the referee what’s going on but it did the job.

SA View: 'Should be banished to the bush leagues' - 'Criminally incompetent' ref torched, White's dive 'absolute disgrace'

I’m genuinely torn on this one. I don’t like diving, but faff went for a deliberate knock down and slapped white in the face, breaking the continuity of the play. White plays on and Aus are disadvantaged by foul play from South Africa. Faff does this all the time and I just convinced myself that white got it right. I wonder if SA will ever accept a loss as just not being the better team in the day

I dunno, Eddie spends alot of time trying to get under peoples skin to gain an advantage on the field. So he gets some blowback and he’s suddenly the victim. I’m not buying it. Reap what you sow Eddie. I have a feeling he’s annoyed at himself for taking the bait and I bet some of his verbal sparring partners were delighted to see what gets under the masters skin. Note: I’m a fan of EJ

Rugby News: SCG piddler on the roof banned for life, Kirwan says All Blacks must back or sack Foster

Im not sure about a meter gain to measure advantage Jacko. My main frustration with the advantage rule is watching the game go on for sometimes minutes before going back for a penalty. I would argue a case fore a phase count before going back. The only problem with this is when a team is defending their line and give away cynical penalties knowing the pressure ends after eg. 3 phases.

The Wrap: Super Rugby seedings hold steady as final four confirmed

My point exactly Rhys. We shouldn’t be introducing a new 10, there should be someone with accumulated minutes at 10. And not our first choice 15. Thorn has done wonders at the reds with squad development but for me he strategically misses the mark as head coach.

'Thrown to the wolves': Tate questions 10 tactic as Reds stunned by Highlanders

For me, a few minutes at 10 for a young 15 in Campbell is hardly a reasonable contingency plan for a professional rugby team, especially with an injury prone 10. Just not good enough, thorn is accountable. Creighton certainly was ‘thrown to the wolves’ and this sort of pressure and subsequent performance can affect the you lads development.

'Thrown to the wolves': Tate questions 10 tactic as Reds stunned by Highlanders

Interesting observation ozinsa, it almost suggests the players aren’t the root cause of failure. Were do we look next?

'Thrown to the wolves': Tate questions 10 tactic as Reds stunned by Highlanders

Come on Rhys, thats a fair stretch. If Thorn was developing 10’s it would be reasonable to expect that there was a backup that had played at least some minutes at 10. Thorn has to wear this debacle. Prospects of Lucas and Gorden were some time ago, suggesting them as though they were thorns plans that fell through when Joc got injured would only highlight Thorn isn’t up to the job.

Considering Ace’s criteria deems you aren’t ‘that good’ unless you have won world rugby player of the year award. The list of players that aren’t ‘that good’ would be an interesting one.

'Hooper's heir apparent': McReight stars in 'helter-skelter' Reds-Rebels try-fest

For me England didn’t manage to lose the game at all. Scotland lost many of the battles in this one, but won the war with outstanding defense and game management.

Scots pip England to retain Calcutta Cup

Spot on highlander. The problem for Cooper is if he doesn’t absolutely tear it up in attack his critics scream that he was poor. Unfortunately Cooper is marked with a different scorecard. But your spot on and I expect rennie will want the same. Manage the game, manage the risk, manage the plan.

WILL GENIA: 'I don't get the Hoops hate - he goes balls out for 80 minutes every time'

I’ve always liked Hooper but the apparent chain of events leading to the loss of McKenzie and Cheika’s appointment still bothers me. Just like the mismanagement of players in the deans era the fault rests with RA. It’s easy to blame events on one person but when an organisation has a track record for it like RA it’s hard to deny the organisation to be the problem. The talent Australian rugby had through the early 2010’s, we should have been pushing the AB’s to the limit and building the next generation of players. Instead we find ourselves starting from scratch and fielding kids to start internationals. Let’s hope this generation get the leadership, culture and support they need to weave the wallabies back top the top. Congrats Hoops, take a bow.

WILL GENIA: 'I don't get the Hoops hate - he goes balls out for 80 minutes every time'

Agree madkiwi, alot of the perception of Quades performances reflect on his unbelievable skillset. My hope is he just keeps it simple and manages the game. That’s what the wallabies need right now. No doubt if he doesn’t do something amazing the haters will say he was poor but if he manages the game well and has an average game, the wallabies are moving in the right direction.

CONFIRMED: Quade Cooper returns for Wallabies at No.10, Rodda starts, two debutants

I was more referring to the phrase you used. If good technique is not executed, it’s not good technique. No matter which way you look at Jordie got it wrong. Not guilty verdict in no way condones what occurred. Players accept suspensions for accidental breaches of rugby laws regularly. Accept Jordie got it wrong and be happy he escaped suspension for something many have received lengthy suspensions for.
