the nrl are ahead in a few areas. tv ratings, merchandise revenue, gambling revenue and facebook fans. the afl are ahead in crowds, memberships, tv revenue and overall revenue produced.

it means they didnt make the minimum number of regional viewers watching to make the cutoff (top 40) so he gave the afl the cutoff number, which could be quite a lot higher than what the sport actually rated.

for some reason they cant. it really seems to bother afl supporters that the nrl rates better. i mean, the facts simply dont lie. nrl fans have no problem admitting the afl’s crowds are the envy of the nation and we are also envious of the tv deal the afl just signed. why does it bother you so much that you come a close second in tv ratings?

why would you imagine ththe afl always outrates the nrl A1? there is not all that much difference between the codes ratings but the nrl wins on fta most weeks. i think the gf ratings winners would change each year depending on who makes each codes gf’s.

Nobody has claimed that league is anywhere near as big as union, it’s just that union supporters seem to deny the fact that rugby league is also growing in quite a number of countries and has never been as big internationally than it is presently!

Some quick Internet research will show you that there are world cup qualifiers next month between Jamaica, south Africa, USA, Italy, Lebanon, Serbia and russia. There has been quite a lot of growth in other non heartland areas recently as well. Thanks for asking though!
