Unlike all the humble folk of NSW…

Youngsters star as Broncos down Dragons

I didn’t realise that you were an avid watcher of american family dramas in your down time http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Once_and_Again

Youngsters star as Broncos down Dragons

once and a while**

Youngsters star as Broncos down Dragons

I’ll point out that they are 3 trophies courtesy of a QLD mast mind. The saints were outplayed last night plain and simple. Both teams had instrumental players out and both teams copped a poor performance from the officials. Add up the average age of the Broncos and see who will be the force to contend with in the coming years.

Again with the water works Dean.

Grow up, your team lost!

I agree to, whenever he had a 1 on 1 last night he broke the line and even sometimes when it was 2 on 1

State of Origin game one: Queensland player ratings

I agree with most of what you say, especially about the commentators talking some……

Its going to be a close series

State of Origin result

And NSW people wonder why QLDers love winning so much, nothing like seeing a grown man cry

State of Origin result

Thank god they are finally going to take him off TV.

I admit I’m one of those Qlders that Ryan is talking about but I find everything he does in his commentary cringe worthy. Its mainly got to do with his absolute biased view towards NSW and his attempt at covering it up by creating the term, the QLD spirit, but its also got to do with is over the top dramatisation like describing a rugby league game as going to war. Now I no people will defend that term but to me its disrespectful to our diggers.

All I can say is I hope that Gus lives up to everyone’s expectation and does a great job with Penrith.

Gus back in the game, but fans will be worse off for it

“The advantage the Bears have with fans, as Souths have proved, is that traditional multi-generational fans will not switch teams. To say that northern Sydney people would simply follow Manly or another team is a myth.

Instead, they have switched codes to union and AFL – to do otherwise would betray their roots and community identity.”

The point isn’t that it isn’t the focus of your article, the point is that its there and you are using it to scare people into thinking that the NRL would be worse off without CCB. I think that the CCB are a smarter option for the NRL than some other Sydney teams however if there is a mentality to “shore up” every person in NSW then the other states are going to find it even harder to relate to the competition.

No losers with safe Central Coast option

The Bears propaganda machine sounded more convincing when it was bragging of its member numbers. When you start talking about the other NRL bids it just makes me feel as though the facts are “facts”. Also using the fear factor of the AFL and Rugby Union is a very negative way to promote an NRL bid. It undermines the game itself and when you talk of the area being “lost forever” it implies that the CCB fans can be bought with a big banner and a megaphone (not something I’d want from one of my NRL teams).

No losers with safe Central Coast option

haha

Nathan Tinkler will be a spectacular success

I think you guys are undermining the value of strong leadership. His level head is the reason that the teams he played in could win consistently and that combined with him being the best at 2 positions makes him the bester football player IMO

Who's the bigger legend out of Joey and Locky?

I’m going to have to disagree on that one Oikee.
I think that all NRL teams must be able to contribute to the comp now and in 50 years time. I’m not entirely up to date with club financials and their catchment areas but the amount of teams in Sydney is unsustainable and the duds will forever be bringing the competition down both financially and their ability to create talent.

Finance not an issue in West Australia league bid

I didn’t get the impression that Gallop was favouring any teams from that interview. He was scripted and very vague from what I could tell. Even if he did lay down an opinion everything would change when the independent commission came in because they have the power to decide.

Finance not an issue in West Australia league bid

I second that

God hates Victory! Why? Why? Why?

The CEO has changed…

How Ivan Henjak was hijacked by the Broncos

Perhaps Bruno Cullen was protecting his reputation for the hand over. I recall him saying to the media that he left the club in a stable situation and that he was proud of it. If he sacked the coach (or accepted the resignation) he would have been creating someone else problems.

In this situation it isn’t his fault that they changed coaches at the start of the season however if I was to conspire it could be seen he left someone in charge who he knew would follow through and make the decision that had to be made.

How Ivan Henjak was hijacked by the Broncos

I would say that the best explanation for the Henjack being sacked was Paul White’s running of the club.

So if you were a new CEO at a club and you decided that you didn’t think the current coach was up to the job then you would go about making the transition as smooth as possible. I think everyone would agree with that statement.

The timing may seem poor on the outside however I have heard reports that Henjack may be kept on within the club, just at a lower position. If this is the case you can assume that White and the Broncos were under advice, from the coaching staff, that completing the preseason without interruption was important for the player’s season performance and that the transition between coaches would have the least effect on the team once they were full match fit.

Now if that strategy had been employed with a coach coming from outside the club into the main job then I would agree its mental. But the new coach is internal so the situation may much more under control then seems.

How Ivan Henjak was hijacked by the Broncos

Imagine if they still had all those players you just mentioned. Every person south of the border would be calling for a salary cap enquiry, and rightly so.

How Ivan Henjak was hijacked by the Broncos

Someone is insecure.

NRL beat Indigenous All Stars in bruising encounter

JB in the interview he sounds more Mr G and Australian Football is his Arena Spectacular!!!

Ljubo shoots back at the Roar of the Crowd

Its always nice to keep things civil

The Broncos have had their year off and they will hit back into form, my prediction:

West Tigers
Canberra
Broncos
Dragons
Gold Coast
North Queensland
Warriors
Roosters

It may be a little optimistic however if anyone really knew then they can take me to the TAB and share their talent.

Picking the winners, and losers, in NRL 2011

I’m sure that would make everyone taking performance enhancing drugs attend the right olympics.

What if Lance Armstrong is found guilty of doping?
