Yes, every player does that to make sure it gets looked at. I doubt a first grade rugby league player of pure athleticism and muscle would usually get knocked arse over that easily.

I have watched a lot of rugby league and in my opinion the game has gotten to a point where the NRL wants a cleaner, safer product, yet beats players with feathers when they commit an act that needs to be rubbed out. Is it because they don’t want clubs missing players for too long?
Harsher sanctions may take players out for weeks at a time, but you could bet your life that all players will think long and hard about the way they approach the game.

I agree that some games need to have more fans through the gate, but turning on the TV and seeing a stadium 3/4 empty just makes the greatest game of all look amateur. For a seasoned fan such as myself, we already love the game and will deal with it. But you have to wonder what a neutral or new fan thinks when they decide to give league a go, and turn on the tv and see all those empty seats.

Simple fix.
Instead of 6 more, a ruck infringement on first or second tackle in your own 30, you get +3 tackles on the end of the set.
Also, a 5 minute sin bin for repeated offenders in the ruck / offside. 10 minutes in today’s game is an age, 5 minutes would be fair.
