Rassie turned rugby into a whinge fest that has resulted in these death threats to refs and officials since ‘that video’. Yes it was wildly appreciated in Bokke land but the rest of the planet were hardly applauding. These “tactics”, whilst legal, has to me and many ruined the game we grew up with.
However the blame ultimately resides with RFU and it’s NH centric controlling the narrative. Didn’t SA block the vote against the Argentine for head of WR? He would have made major positive changes I believe yet we end up with dithering old English running the shop.

This is what bugs me. Why did it have to be 4 English referees on the panel? We had refs from Aus/Fra/Ire/Sco/Rom/Geo/Arg etc all qualified to ref the WC yet we get a TMO who has no high level ref qualifications deciding, nay overruling, the appointed head referee. Dont tell me it is a specialised position as I have seen Pickerell used as TMO in this RWC. The TMO doesn’t have to be a tech genius as he has a roomful of assistants to get him the footage he asks for. Foley should be demoted if not sacked as every game he was in he caused angst.
