Why why why the spin? Yep….n then every man (or woman) and his dog will be to scared to tackle in case they get it wrong…..n r banned for 4 weeks. What needs to happen is concentration on the really dangerous stuff like spear tackles n aerial tackles, and let the rest go! Whe I played, I was not stupid(or maybe I was) I knew that this was a violent contact sport, and I chose to play it…..I KNEW THAT!!! should I now turn around and try to sue the game for not protecting me from what I willingly did? Don’t get me wrong here folks, players should be 100% protected from malicious play…like spear tackles…..but if the players and administrators of the game can’t accept that head contact and resultant injury are part of the deal…..well…go ply ping pong…plenty of clubs around…(great game BTW, very skillfull n entertaining…minimal head contact….ball probably won’t induce sports related injury or coma….unlike some of the commentary on said site)

I hope so, I really really hope so, as a rank amateur that came to the game late, and played in the NT with lots of kiwis, I came to love to love the game, and the way they tought me to play it (always crap btw…i blame my kiwi mentors rather than my complete lack of ability) and it’s demise here in Oz is not only saddening, but also bad for the game here and across the ditch…

What if every time they infringed instead off a time consuming boring penalty, they were marched 20 metres at double speed followed by quick tap….penalty 20 metres every time, guaranteed possession…. penalty kicks for goal could be only for yellow card offences…

I think everyone should moderate a bit…..the Tahs have not been pounded off the Park……could just hv easily been 3 wins, and the other teams sad about a close loss. (Neutral supporter BTW)

Really not sure where you are coming from? They all won titles at SR level, some more than others, but u can’t just look at that alone….what was the opposition like year to year…did a title go begging (or be won) from 1 dumb luck or poor decision that cost a crucial game….were any of them out for longish injury periods….were the players around them as good/poorer/same standard year to year….did Carter n Ritchie miss more games due to AB duties? I don’t have the answers, but I think they are relevant to the topic. Carter and Richie were once in a generation players, infact, if memory serves me correct, Carter replaced Mhertens (great great player also) at Saders following apprenticeship at 12. Don’t get me wrong, they are all great players, but I think that Carter and McCaw were chosen as ABs year after year is true testament to their legendary status????

A) we recognise that players need to secure their financial future in a career that could end the next game they play, and those finances are available overseas, and
B) You will come back a better player with OS experience after a short, limited absence…..

Hi Harry, can you help please, at about 42 minutes in tahs v highlanders, Riley carried, was tackled, presented ball, tackler released, then grabbed ball while on feet, then cleaned out immediately, but awarded penalty…..I just don’t understand!
