Anyone that think that buying into an NRL team as an investment needs their heads checked. Owners “own” they don’t run the teams; they bankroll the team… sure as an owner you can have your say, seeing as your money pay’s the bills but the primary function of the owner is to “own” the team not run it. If they think the coach isn’t doing a good job, sack him.. need a new CEO… bye, Help with the signing or resigning of key players start kissing ass.. and use their resources and contacts to impove the operations and running of a club.. owning a pofessional team isn’t about making a quick buck, you’d be lucky to break even on the money you invest.. look at Al Davis (Oakland Raiders) he likes fast, ahletic and talented running backs and insisted in the last few drafts the team take notable running backs instead of picking team specific needs, thats how not to own a team… thats why their are CEO’s and operations officers and team officials, they get paid to run the teams…

Would you buy your NRL club?

The lakers should stick with gasol; just long enough to see how the season pans out where teams lie before the trade dealine. Kobe state line this year so far is something like 29.9ppg, 5.40rpg, 4.9apg *(25.5ppg, 5.3rpg, 4.7apg) are on par with his career averages and still has a few more years left in him. Howard will only get better with time 3 x DPOY sure his free throw shooting is terribe, but is a monster on the boards with every championship team needing a big man. And when the time is right, trade gasol for a decent draft pick or an above average point guard, but bring in someone to groom to take over for when kobe gets about retirement age..

Lakers too old, too shaken to be NBA champs

The NRL should consider the use of an “unlimited” third party agreement for marquee or franchise players. Where any player can earn as little or as much from a third party agreement with a sponsor, business or group not associtated with the NRL or the clubs and tax 10c for ever dollar over say $100,000 or whatever they see fit..

It's time for an NRL Franchise Player system

Whatever his motivations; it’s his life but i think teams are overvaluting him, sure he is an amazing talent in rugby league. But i think code hoppers should only be offered a minimum wage; the ARLC council needs to intervene because it sets a precident for future players. as an exampe; if a player leaves the NRL to pursue a career in another sport for longer then a season, on their return to rugby league that player can only be offered a maximum limit of say $100,000 but can earn upto say $250,000 in third party agreements from sponsors not associated with the NRL or club… and has to be legitamite.. make it like a mercenry rule..

Izzy greedy?
