My fears too, we saw how the Sharks underperformed with their bok pack by trying to copy the SA blueprint of win the game upfront, compared to t
What the stormers did allowing players to play their game. If Jacques continues down that up and unders all day game the boks won’t move forward. But we should give him the benefit of the doubt, he does analyze every match and will know what is required to move forward.

ANALYSIS: Key match ups and strategy, plus who will win and why, for July's three massive rugby Test series

I called the last 2 wc wins pre tournament. And all the wc failures between. I told my mates we would lose to nz in the first game and win the wc 2019, with my only mistake being I thought we would get nz in the final.
So here is the oracles next one. We beat Wales 3 – 0. Only 1 of those is a 15+, we do a 2-0 with nz. Both close
We do a 1-1 with Aus.
We beat Ireland England and France on the eoyt. Bookmark it.

Analysing the 2022 Boks squad

I don’t think we will roll every opponent over. Next season will have a much wider split for home vs away matches which will make the comp more neutral. We did benefit from the long string of successive home games.

Viewership for the URC surpassed all records, and the SA public took a while to warm up to it, but the sentiment around here has changed. SR will be all but forgotten next year. All that remains is for this to translate into a strong Springboks. If the ABs come to SA and put 50s on us, the public will quickly blame the move from SR, and conversely if we beat NZ twice, it will be hailed as a masterstroke.

Did the big bad wolf of South African rugby ruin or save the URC in its very first season?

Was hoping to see an article in stuff or nzherald this morning about the URC final. Not even a mention. Nz rugby lost me as a supporter. Self obsessed, now to lose their aus partners and will become another Fiji in the future. Good luck

Its not all doom n gloom, coming from a Saffa im going to suggest that had your team not botched 2 sure tries, and your wing covered his blind channel – we were looking at a different result last night.

1. Pick better wings
2. Beale or QC at 10
3. Scrum practice (and Hooper actually participating in the scrum)
4. Using the lineout and maul as an attacking option
5. Pocock

That will put you back up there.

As for the size debate, the Boks have deliberately given up on the size over skill tactic of the past, we could easily field a pack of 940kg but found that the game has evolved beyond the ability to run into walls. Snyman is growing into the mould of a Retallick with slick handling and offloads, Etzebeth is changing his lines on impact which saw a WB last night get his head on the wrong side of a gigantic knee that sent him back to the future. Marx is an openside flank that can throw lineouts, PSDT is a lock that plays flank. Its a new evolution of springbok rugby thats moving away from tradition, without giving away too much of that old advantage. They wont be the biggest pack in Japan, but certainly an effective one.
