Perhaps, it was not expressed in the best way.
Certainly, Los Pumas and Los Teros participated in the same RWC a couple of times.
However, they never met on the field. This is the first time that a South American team has faced another South American team in an RWC game.

“Saluto Romano”
The Roman salute is not as rigid as the Nazi salute. It is usually done at a lower angle as well.
The hands of the Romans in many paintings and statues are not so rigid.

I understand that Jaguares was self-financing. It did not generate additional income but it did not consume it either.
The UAR’s biggest income comes from Los Pumas, so almost three years of not playing in Argentina, due to Covid-19, put a lot of pressure on the union.

The Thursday Two-up: What's the pass mark for every team, and who needs to stand up and be counted?

Very true about García Botta. When I was going through the props available in Europe it came to my mind. However, I suspect he must have been “stuck” at the step backwards of the Argentine scrum during the Hourcade (Pumas) / Aspirina Pérez (Jaguares) era. Complicated locker rooms must have been experienced in those years (Port Elizabeth -Kings- and Resistencia -Scotland-) and some players seem to have disappeared from the Puma radar since then.

The Thursday Two-up: What's the pass mark for every team, and who needs to stand up and be counted?

“The Pumas will meet in Manchester on 24, 25 and 26 October thinking about the November window, and 29 players were called.”

The list of 29 Pumas are participating in the Manchester campus is quite unbalanced and I believe that this is due to the reluctance of some European clubs to allow them to attend. Part of that imbalance is noticeable by counting 9 back threes and only 4 loose forwards. Knowing that Kremer misses the England game due to being suspended for three weeks (2 with SF and one with ARG) Cheika is sure to include a couple of extra back rowers and free up as many wigners on the final 36-man roster for the autumn nations series. The most likely candidates to complete the third row would be Grondona, Oviedo and Rubiolo. They should also add a third hooker (Socino, Bosch or Ruiz) a scrum half (Bazán Velez, perhaps) a fly half (Urdapilleta, predictably) and a couple of props (Gomez Kodela, Medrano, Vivas, Pieretto, Sordoni)

One hundred percent

The Wrap: Resurgent All Blacks secure the Rugby Championship but where to now for each team?

As a neutral observer, I have to say that I did not like Mathieu Raynal’s decision at all and that important regulation modifications are needed for the last minutes of a game.
In this particular case -and in the time that is lost in the set pieces in the final stages of the game- the criterion should be to allow the referee to consult with the TMO the exact moment in which the game was interrupted and bring the clock to that moment in case of considering that the delay is due to the bad will of the player(s).

Lavanini and Moroni (team-mates at Leicester Tigers at that time) were ruled out of the 2020 TRN due to injuries.
Lavanini had undergone ankle surgery.
Moroni had suffered a sprained lateral ligament in his right knee.

A relevant clarification IMHO; in the TRN 2020 The Pumas played:

Nov 14 NZL
Nov 21 AUS (NZL rest)
Nov 28 NZL (AUS rests)
Dec 5 AUS

After beating ABs and drawing with WBs, Ledesma makes 10 changes for the second game against the ABs.

Nothing personal about De Groot, I just thinking that, like Sclavi, they can be the weak link in a defense when worn down by the urgency required to regroup.

The Thursday Two-up: Time for a rethink?

I imagine we reach the fifth round of the RC with 2 wins and 2 losses per team. Perhaps a draw, as a way of breaking the pattern, should not be ruled out.
The biggest challenge for Los Pumas would be to stay close on the scoreboard after 60 minutes and then try to burn the ships in attack, without exposing themselves to an distasteful points difference.

The Thursday Two-up: Time for a rethink?

Petti pushes hard (maybe a bit less than Alemanno?) and I imagine Grondona pushes harder than Gonzalez (he also tackles more ferociously).
Cheika knows De Groot is superior in the scrum, but around the park Gallo overpowers him after 10 minutes of play.
Cubelli to have the commanding voice in the halves, with a second SH -Cordero is usually spare wheel to the 9 in UBB- and attacking around the ruck. That seems to me the sharpest move among the tactical changes for the second game.

The Wrap: Rugby Championship takes another weird and wonderful turn

WBs and LPs travelled to Australia the day after playing in San Juan and, by the time they played on Saturday, seemed to have overcome the jetlag completely. Why couldn’t SBs do the same? At the time of travel they had to delay their departure by a day because of some airline problem. They didn’t look fit, starting with Pollard who couldn’t hit the posts according to their RC track record.

ANALYSIS: Boks need new blood and new ideas, and should take a lesson from Cheika's Argentina

Nienaber out !!! 😱

'It's not working': Will the Wallabies ever show they understand what Dave Rennie wants from them?

It must have seemed a bit to much for Foster to throw the senior players who came out to support him, when his job was in jeopardy, under the bus, just days after doing the same to two members of his staff.

The Thursday Two-up: Picking the TRC favourites and what needs to change for every team

If we think about it, having Petti and Grondona (relegating to Isa and Bruni) on the bench could denote a high degree of optimism in Cheika. Both are very mobile and physical players.
The Australian puts big chips on an eventual cracked last quarter.

The Thursday Two-up: Picking the TRC favourites and what needs to change for every team

That is correct, but it was always argued (Christophe Urios, Mario Ledesma, analysts) that he was an unusual athlete, capable of playing 80 minutes at a high tempo.
He was not usually replaced from the bench or started on it.

The Thursday Two-up: Picking the TRC favourites and what needs to change for every team

There is something experimental about playing against the ABs with a second row that is heavier and slower than the one Petti could form with. 😛

Nope, except for the second row and the centres.

The Thursday Two-up: Picking the TRC favourites and what needs to change for every team

The Pumas need to defend like never before and take every chance they get to score points.
If we do that, maybe we can be quite competitive.
