Brumbies are in 5th place for tries this year. And the bottom half for most other attaching stats.

Not sure that qualifies as having your attaching game on fire.

Brumbies end 15-year drought against Crusaders as 80th minute penalty try seals remarkable finish

There is nothing in the rules about shoulder on shoulder contact being illegal.

Your other two points are moot too.

The Wrap: Rebels young gun rockets out of Wallabies contention, and why Samipeni Finau's 'brutal' hit on Edmed was fair game

Yea nar bro. If the tackler is committed before the ball is passed then all good.

Otherwise players would just drop the ball a split second before they were tackled. We’d have 100 penalties per game.

Tackle needs to be above the line of the shoulders for a penalty.

Ireland won’t even get close imo.

SA will dish out an old fashion beating!

I know what you’re say but not sure I entirely agree with that. A truly world class player will always standout, even in a bad team. BOD and Sergio Parisse are a couple of examples that come to mind.

I still think Aus has the depth at age grade. These players just aren’t kicking on, and that comes down to pathways and player development.

Player development is the big one imo. Too much emphasis is placed on the current “stars” vs developing the next ones.

“Played at the highest level with some success”, that’s a pretty weak metric.

A large chunk of those players wouldn’t be selected in another T1 team.

He is good under the highball so long as he isn’t being challenged.

Someone like Jordie Barrett doesn’t even need to jump to beat him in the air.

Cheslin Kolbe is a great player, but you can’t be called a “Master of the air” when you’re a borderline midget.

That wasn’t the case when the AB’s played Ireland in Chicago back 2016. Far more black jerseys than green.

No reason to think Fiji vs AB won’t be a sellout too. Sure they’ll get less gate revenue vs Eden park, but it’s about growing the game and the All Blacks brand.

You’re right, Australia is probably too stupid to retro fit smaller stadiums with facilities that corporate sponsors expect.

It’s more about growing the game.

Ideally the stadium will be full of Americans.

Then stay at AAMI and drop the adult ticket prices to $20. Kids and seniors free

Aus needs to do everything they can to grow the game. More fans will equal a better broadcasting deal.

They do in other parts of the world.

I’ve never understood the approach to growing the game in the Melbourne market.

For starters they should have gone with a smaller stadium as their home base, it is cheaper to run and easier to fill. Somewhere around 15k seats is more than enough, like the European clubs.

Then fill it every game. Kids should be free, over 60’s should be free. Adult tickets should be cheap, no more than $20 each. Prizes for the best banner, giveaways etc. Kids should be begging their parents to take then to the games.

Broadcasting revenue should be the focus. And that will be an easier sell if the stadium is sold out every game.

Those 3 were solid players, White not so much.

The only thing White could teach is how to grow a dirty mo.

Rugby Australia is back where they hoped they would never return - and their next move could make or break the game

It was a tongue in cheek comment, not suggesting for a second that the Force are to blame.

The Wallabies ranking is lower today than it was thou…

Yea the Force seem to be one of the better teams at giving younger players a shot.

Although whoever recuited Nic White should be escorted out of the State!

The Reds have got a lot of younger guys in their squad this year too which is good to see.

No idea what they spent on recruitment. But no doubt Tupou cost a lot more than bring someone up from the development squad.

Then there is the knock on effect of recruiting like this. It tells the guys in the development squad they should look elsewhere because the coach doesn’t rate them. It leaves a hole in the Reds squad. And finally, how do you expect your supporters to be loyal when the team and players aren’t.

Rugby Australia is back where they hoped they would never return - and their next move could make or break the game

EJ might have poured petrol on the fire, but he didn’t start it.

I don’t think Aus will see a step change in results until they start focusing on player development. They put too much weight on recruiting established players rather than developing new players.

The Rebels is a good example of this, look how much money they spent (which they didn’t have) on recruiting established players year. This just creates a team of imports and weakens the other Aus teams in the process.

Now compare that to the Crusaders who lost Richie Mounga this year. They could have spent big to bring in a Damian McKenzie or Beauden Barrett. Instead, they’re going with 3 rookies and trusting their systems to develop them, same as they did 8 years ago when Dan Cater moved on and they went with a rookie named Richie Mounga.

Aus have the players, development is the key.

The Wallabies have gone down hill since the Force returned!

Yes SANZAAR doesn’t run the unions. The unions run SANZAAR which is how it should be.
I don’t rate the competitions by which one makes the most money. Couldn’t care less actually.
I want to watch entertaining rugby and see the All Blacks win. And by that metric, SR trumps T14 anyday.
Maybe if the French RU had more say in the T14, their national team might be able to finally win a WC.

Rugby News: ‘Only way to recover is to get injured’ - French star’s dire workload warning, Cooper, Rennie fail to fire

It is common sense in my opinion.

The T14 might be doing great in your book, but that hasn’t translated to France performing on the international scene.

SANZAAR teams have won the WC 9 times, France 0.

Rugby News: ‘Only way to recover is to get injured’ - French star’s dire workload warning, Cooper, Rennie fail to fire

That is not the definition of a choker. Someone who repeatedly makes it to the finals but can’t pull it off, that is a choker. And in Rugby WC’s that is France and England.

Weather you are for or against private teams really depends on where you see your national team’s priority.

Private teams generally don’t have the national teams’ best interests in mind. And they are definitely not responsible for WR’s income, not sure how you can come to that conclusion.

A WC in France will always make more than a WC in SA or NZ. It has nothing to do with the private clubs, rather the respective GDPs of each country.

Rugby News: ‘Only way to recover is to get injured’ - French star’s dire workload warning, Cooper, Rennie fail to fire

As I mentioned previously, it’s common sense that T14 income is higher than SR. The economies aren’t remotely comparable.

I think you touched on the key reason the SH national teams are better thou. In super rugby the national unions manage the player workloads to ensure their test players aren’t overworked.

T14 its all about winning at all cost. Doesn’t matter if the players get burnt out before the international season. Unfortunately one of the downsides with private ownership of the teams.

Oh, and when it comes to WC’s, France are biggest chokers ever! Closely followed by England.
