I think this mid field certainly has the potential to be one of the best if they all gel. But look at Geelong with Ablett, Dangerfield and Selwood, it just hasn’t worked the way the cats had envisaged.
Collingwoods big thing to work on is the mental side of things – they virtually gave West Coast the Grand Final in the last few minutes, no composure under pressure, and no mid field leadership to take control or seize the situation.
Will Beams give them that? I think a cool head like Daniel Wells was certainly missed in that Grand Final, but now pushing 33 / 34 next year will he even be in there bets 22.

Why Collingwood’s midfield is now the best ever

The Bombers injury permitting should be Top 4 and give 2019 Premiership a real tilt.
In Woosha they have one of the best coaches in the business and a list that most other clubs would envy.
How good will be 2019 if we have Richmond, Collingwood, Melbourne and Essendon all performing.
I do expect the Carlton to improve, North to knock on the top 8, St Kilda to rise.

The Bombers are back, and it’s top four or bust in 2019

The List is still ordinary – Scott Thompson should not be in the best 22, Turner is not up to AFL standard, and Ben Brown in capable of destroying a top team.

Goldstein incapable of competing with the best Big Guys and you wonder why let Preuss go.

We need to kick more Goals from the likes of Wood and Garner.
Need more leg speed time to say bye bye to Sam Wright, and maybe Cunnington can go forward with Ziebell.

North Melbourne fans chomping at the bit

The Swans got a bargain with Ryan Clarke kid will be a star.
Not sure Polec worth pick 11, think they would have been better off trying to get Kelly, and using Preuss and pick 11.
Instead the club getting some hacks in Polec, and Pittard.

AFL Trade Wrap Day 4: Mitch McGovern, Jared Polec, Gary Rohan and more

Whilst North Melbourne cannot get an A Grade Players, all the good Players want out of Adelaide.
Time for Tex Walker to do a Buckley and Hardwick and change his ways!
He acts like he is Wayne Carey – but Carey had 2 Premierships when he finished.
Walker has none to date.

Adelaide played hard-ball on McGovern trade

1999 North’s last Premiership and Grand Final – time for the Club to become ruthless and make decisions about winning 2019 or 2020.

What annoys me about 2018 is that North took the easy option in 2018 and did not play the kids enough – why is Scott Thompson still on the list?? The guy is 32 and will be 33 in May. Mckay did not even get a game.

Be bold get rid of Goldstein – we need to keep Preuss he is the future and hungry.
Delist Kayne Turner he barley kicked a goal all year???
Not sure why Sam Wright was re signed for 2019 the game has past him.
The recruiting staff clearly stuffed up Davies U has been pretty underwhelming especially when you compare him to the year Stephenson had – and his Grand Father played for North!

Since 1999 the club seem to continually make poor decisions and its time to be ruthless, like Hawthorn.

In defence of shooting for the moon, or why I love North Melbourne's AFL trade strategy

Richmond should beat Collingwood on form, and you can’t go past West Coast.

But how good would a Collingwood v Melbourne Grand Final be.

The Roar’s AFL expert tips and predictions: Preliminary finals

Richmond should win – their game plan has certainly stacked up in home and away and in the first final against Hawthorn, for Collingwood to win they will need a lot of luck and they could have that with Richmond playing a 50% fit Dusty who could end up being a liability.

Certainly hoping for a great game – my tip Collingwood just.

Preliminary final forecast: Richmond vs Collingwood

Swans gave him every opportunity – unfortunately bad luck (infections) and ultimately his body let him down.
A lot of players over 200 Games no premiership – think Nathan Buckley, Robert Harvey and Brendan Goddard.
So although his career cut short much to be proud off.
Well done Alex.

Swans delist injury-plagued defender Alex Johnson

Melbourne will flog Hawthorn! Clarkson has no functioning forward line.
GWS will beat Collingwood ! Buckley easily out coached by Simspon and expect Cameron to get the better of Buckley this week.
He Buckley never played in Premiership and will never coach one!

The Roar’s AFL expert tips and predictions: Semi-finals

Let me say i am neither a Collingwood or West Coast Fan – but this game was the most poorly umpired game in awhile.

The umpires sadly influenced by the crowd – and one can only hope the AFL address this bias for all teams in the finals.

Five talking points from West Coast vs Collingwood

The Geelong Midfield was exposed – Ablett, Selwood, and Dangerfield well and truly past it, if they cannot get over a young Melbourne midfield in 2018, they are certainly not getting better in 2019.
Time for Geelong to make some tough calls and maybe use the Kelly Trade to West Coast to try and snair Gaff if they can offload Ablett to free up Salary.

Sydney where do you start a good Home and Away team – but once the finals start a game plan which is continually exposed and fails 2017, and 2018 examples.
By resigning McVee and Grundy the Swans won’t rock the status quo expect them to make finals in 2019 but not beyond first 2 rounds.

Losing elimination finalists Geelong and Sydney share many parallels

Geelong was my tip to play off in the Grand Final i had West Coast beating them off the back of a Nick Nat Norm Smith performance!
What struck me most on Friday night was that Geelong really never looked in it – they had a few early chances as Hawthorn did against Richmond to challenge Melbourne and see what they had mentally.
Instead it was Geelong who wilted away and played undisciplined – Selwoods stupid wrestle and free kick cost them, but in general bar a few moments they never looked in it.
I agree i think there list is still pretty solid – and is a question of Scott now not being able to get the best of his players? Or is the players aren’t cohesive internally?
Surely with this list and talent they should be playing next week.

What now for the Geelong Cats, the AFL's most interesting team?

Tim your joking!
Richmond’s losses this year are all from interstate travel, for all their MCG dominance they have a dreadful record interstate even loosing to Port who did not make the finals.

Grand Finals at the MCG are unfair? That's rubbish

I expect the best coach in the game to have the Dockers well and truly back in the top 4 next year.

Injury and bad luck haven’t helped the luckless Dockers.

Sadly had they kicked straight in that Grand Final he (Lyon) would be revered.

Fremantle in finals? I was wrong, but I wasn't completely wrong

One Name “Orazio Fantasia” said loudly

The Roar's 2018 All Australian team - as voted by you!

This really surprises me!
Will Tex Walker give him a serve like he did to Jake Lever?
Looks like a straight swap with Darcy Moore

Mitch McGovern wants to fly the Crows' coop

If Richmond play West Coast, Sydney or GWS you would back them in a Grand Final at the MCG.

However how if they play against a Victorian based team think Hawthorn, Collingwood, Melbourne or Geelong in a Grand Final? Would you have the same level of confidence?

My call is that Richmond are fragile (Yes big Call) but given they lost all interstate games (Adelaide, GWS, Port Adelaide, and West Coast) and i think with the pressure on them to deliver can see them faltering.

Who among the chasing pack can topple the Tigers?

As a North fan 2 i would swap Harvey and Daicos and bring in Byron Pickett (2 Time Premiership Player North 99 and Port Adelaide 04), and then the man who revolutionized Ruck Corey McKernan.

For how good Franklin is he still hasn’t got Sydney a Flag, agree Adam Goodes one of the best in the modern era, as for Judd – i would have picked Ben Cousins ahead of him at his peak.

The ultimate team of the AFL era
