this joke was a bit rough!

EXCLUSIVE: Schmidt to appoint David Warner as Wallabies leadership consultant

Are you available for a position as assistant selector for JS after he is found wanting?

Wonder kid offered 3-yr, $1.6m deal to stay in Aussie rugby - and why it could see Wallabies stars leave Ballymore

No. It’s more simple than that. Talent abounds if you are prepared to look outside the Sydney or the Brisbane Cosmopolitan Club on a Friday night where the selections are made.

Who are these corporate clueless medieval cling-ons running the rugby? The money wasted on sudden projects deserves a Royal Commission into skullduggery.

Agree. If someone wants to go and play the working class game with no appreciation of the arts, ill-literati Shakespeare head-bangers galore, three-grunt vocabulary, then let them go and play. I could think of nothing better than visiting Las Vegas, Mt Smart in Northern Otara or windy wet Wigan once in a blue moon as part of a think big project in NRL.

Full marks on your comments. But how many schools were sent paper portraits of the Wallabies forthcoming World Cup in 2003? Unlike a small country like NZ, the answer is diddly -squat.

RA's manic Monday and how it will shape the future of the Australian game

We should be the Code that highlights ANZAC Day. Not those league players who remained behind playing the professional game instead of fighting on the front lines for 2/6d a week. Nor the VFL code. No NZers played VFL.

I would like to see the present Super rugby sides retained bar The Brumbies. Amalgamate them back into NSW. Play NSW home games between Canberra and Sydney.
More international teams touring Australia and not just playing in Hobart or Adelaide but in Orange and Bundaberg. And sometimes at the MCG, ANZ Stadium and that inadequate league ground in Brisbane.
Lets have a proper trial for Wallaby selection.
Get those underpaid non-millionaire rugby representatives earning extra money by involvement in the schools and in junior clubs.
Identify real talent both in player and coaching level at under-age state matches.
Bombard the free to air radio and television stations with rugby reports not only here but from overseas. When all this Les Fargo nonsense was going on Joe Schmidt should have been telling that NRL/VFL Insiders programme running on a Sunday the All Blacks are going to the USA as well. Blankety blank-blank piss poor advertising, Joe.
And dear Tim and all that STAN sports crowd start interviewing the public paying supporters about the matches instead of interviewing those intellectual bedazzled intellects. Let’s get the heartland reports of where? when? how? what? who? that kids today are brought up to provide a rugby perspective outside of the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
Think big RA. We don’t have to copy that other code. Just work smarter.

Well he is the son of a Kiwi thugby league player.

No but I listened to some of the worst commentary ever heard on radio with some pathetic sexually deprived Kiwi commentators talking about strippers, testicles, drinking, in between the cricket.

Warner gets up off canvas but denied fairytale farewell as Dre Russ power lifts Windies to upset win over Aussies

Once again the free to air coverage of the Six Nations in any form is crap! And as a rugby playing nation or league we tolerate this ineptitude. Time for a revolution.

Anyone who does this sort of theft is nothing but scunge!

Disagree totally. It’s in the Australian DNA never to lose. They’re ruthless. If anything it’s time Australia played a series against a World XI. They would in all probability beat them.

Tickets for the one dayers in NZ are sold out. Have the K1W1s acquired some sort of sniff?

Intriguing to read that one stage Ken McMullen was the preferred half-back both against NZ and the starting half-back against the Springboks in 1963. Ken McMullan was in the winning NSW team that beat the All Blacks in 62, not selected in the two test matches that lost to the All Blacks, was in the Southern NSW that lost 58-6, played in the drawn test against the All Blacks in Wellington, replaced by Catchpole in the second test where the Wallabies lost by a penalty goal, then played in the third(Catchpole injured), where moving around on the blindside McMullan set up a brilliant try for Jim Lenehan to score. Played in the winning test against the first ever touring England Team followed by selection in the first test against the Springboks. But because of their heavy loss replaced for the remainder of the tests by Catchpole. Went to league. Sadly passed away with dementia at just 45 years of age.

'Stands beyond rivalry': Passing the story of Wallabies icon Ken Catchpole through the generations

Too subtle!

You’re so right yet again that you make the left look right. It’s about time Papua-New Guinea should be given the right to clamber back under German control once again. Britain had no right to obtain German New Guinea as a protectorate after 1919. On top of which who could afford to run the place? I forgot. the Japanese were interested for a time.
