Would love to see it Kirsty and the Super W too.

Ada and Canada show peace can exist between the rugby codes

They should have a pool of professional female athletes that are well payed and the Jillaroos, Wallaroos and Pearls can all draw from these players when they need them.

What a great story, that Canada vs Brazil game was very entertaining to watch. Well done to all involved.

The sponsors do, the Buildcorp Wallaroos. However Rugby Australia bank the money and then do not pay the Women a living wage.

What can we reasonably expect of the Wallaroos at the Rugby World Cup?

I also don’t buy that not flush with cash line, the sport constantly claims they are expecting a hundred million dollar windfall and also sprouting how they will raid the NRL for talent. With what they are going to pay Suaalii and Burton they can find the whole Wallaroos team for a year.

I’m not claiming victims status I’m simply stating if you want these women to stop working at their jobs and go and play Rugby you need to pay them appropriately. The scenes in Newcastle this week show us that there is interest in the women’s game and if RA want to collect money off brands like Buildcorp and Cadbury – that have gone on record to say they want to engage with female athletes and viewers, well then they need to pay up.

From the 30 million dollar a year broadcast deal

What can we reasonably expect of the Wallaroos at the Rugby World Cup?

It’s a nominal amount though, not a living wage.

2025 is too far away a date for when players will go full time. If the new NRLW CBA is anywhere near as good as what the association is asking for there will be noone left. Here in Rocky we don’t have a full time open age women’s team anymore but the local league team has multiple now. The Sport needs to get this done asap.

Don’t write the article Mick, they will tear you to shreds. Not sure what is going on at the moment but it is pretty bad out there.

The A-League needs to begin with a bang, not a whimper

Have to agree there Mick, even in QLD all the kids wear his stuff and he is a Blue.

The Wrap: How is it that when the Wallabies lose, support for Dave Rennie goes up?

Mick will the Indigenous sporting groups advocate for him going to Union?

The Wrap: How is it that when the Wallabies lose, support for Dave Rennie goes up?

Who cares who he upsets? he is a proven winner and champion. He is off contract, get it done! this is what the Wallabies need, someone who is passionate and dealy, who makes it personal against their opposite number.

super Rugby seems to have becoming a bit of a testing ground for rule changes at World Rugby, I agree a lot of them are trying to emulate the NRL but that’s only because it’s eating so well at the moment.

Tweak the bench: Learn to love fatigue again and the game will be better off

The Knights looked very polished for a side that has had so little preperation, showed my Broncos girls how to do it unfortuanetly.

NRLW Round 1 talking points: Knights stake their claim as premiership contenders

Clearly they have the money they just do not want to pay the female players.

Despite heavy defeat, fans need to back the Wallaroos

I’m sorry Hugh that is patronizing, if they can’t afford to pay the girls a living wage Rugby Australia should meet be publicly stating that they are pursuing NRL players on seven figure Sums.
I can’t tell you the amount of women in central Queensland now looking at a move to League cause they actually see a future there.
I will always watch Australia but there is no defence for not playing the players, even the 40k the sevens players get isn’t enough.

Despite heavy defeat, fans need to back the Wallaroos

You clearly don’t watch much NRL Brett, Latrell Mitchell (Souths Sydney Fullback) is the very definition of deadly. Big strong fast and skilful, he makes it personal against his opposite number and doesn’t take a backward step. The Wallabies need more players like him and I’ll die on that hill.

Wallabies losses like San Juan help build the case against Dave Rennie

Well said Don, Tim is approaching this as a member of the media that has access to caches like Ricky, he doesn’t undersatnd that the average fan want to understand what went wriong and why the coach amde the decsions he did. In particular about playing rosters and positions.

Sticky situation: NRL should enforce a few more rules in Operations Manual after Stuart's spray

You answered your own question Mick.
Look at the way they treated Tahu, Blacklock and Walker, no indigenous players will ever move there again. The game hates them and they know it.

Target potential over stars: Suaalii a strong option but rugby can't repeat past mistakes in hunt for NRL converts

Well said Mick,
And also calling the best sports weekend of the year for us a gimmick shows that he just doesn’t get it.

For the good of the game, we must cull the Kangaroos from the Rugby League World Cup

There has been like three major RUGBY stories featuring people talking about origin this week.
Is this a channel 9 thing?

'I was in a dark place': Suli unleashed at last, and Origin carnage has ex-league star frothing for debut after tough ride

I thiink you will find a few of those girls will sign over to the NRLW soon Hugh, the new Nth QLD side up here is going hard for the Indigenous girls. Even here in Rocky they are coming down and signinig them up.

PR masterclass means Rugby Australia are fighting the code war on their terms

Come on Geoff own it, the Rugby journos here in oz don’t like League culture so they talk the game down over a range of issues. Not one of you Rugby journos with all of your access has pressed the Aru on any of the issues the author has brought up. It’s fine if you don’t like League but at least own it

PR masterclass means Rugby Australia are fighting the code war on their terms

Couldn’t be more right Mick, my son asked me if why we didn’t go and watch the indigenous all stars if they were playing in Brissie. I had to explain that there’s no Aboriginal players in the team it’s just a special jersey. Why they don’t have indigenous players I’ll never know?
