Going to be an exciting finals series!

Suspect it’ll still be one of the big 3 who ultimately grab the cup, but I’d love to see one of them fall to the upstarts.

Why Round 10 is the best AFLW has to offer

Interesting predictions!

Although Prespakis is now suspended so won’t be winning the B&F.

AFLW Mid-season wrap: Who wins the premiership from here?

Reckon they still play finals by banking wins they should and theoretically getting some better forward structure once they get players back and fit, but I do agree their start to the season was overrated.

Similarly to Carlton, they’re six points away from having 2 less wins, but unlike the Blues they haven’t been able to back it up the last two weeks while missing some key players.

The Fremantle bubble has burst, and they could be in freefall

Tough week!
Giants always a chance against the Dogs, but Martin back in to keep “Mummy” occupied makes me confident enough to pick the Dogs by 30.
Always tough picking against the Cats at Kardinia but the Eagles will be smelling blood. Eagles.
Suns won’t be quite so bad against a team without a strong ruck, but still tipping the Swans despite the injuries.
Lions to beat the Blues, nothing to say here really they’re just a better side.
Demons over Tigers, I think Melbourne have turned a corner this year and will come out swinging. Hoping for a Tigers win, picking the Dees.
Dockers to easily account for North, who will have to keep waiting to pick up a win.
Hawks’ record in Tassie is very strong, and I think the Crows without Sloane will struggle to get the ball down to Tex enough.
Bombers? I guess? Absolutely no confidence in either side, but no Howe gives the Essendon forwards a real chance to shine.
Port (unfortunately) to destroy St Kilda, I love the Saints list but they’re just not getting enough consistent effort out of their players thus far this season.

The Roar's AFL expert tips and predictions: Round 6

Great round-up Joel!

The bit about the difference between STK/GCS & WCE/RICH re: expansion teams was particularly insightful; just a lot harder for one or two star players to pull a team to a win. The Tigers got two goals against North from star power that looked fantastic on the highlight reel but (sadly, as a Richmond supporter) looked completely out of their depth for much of the rest of the game.

Scoring and accuracy are on the rise week-on-week; weather this weekend looks alright so hopefully this trend continues!

AFLW Round 3 wrap: So, who's the best?

That’s fair. Worpel has turned out to be an absolute gun too, so the Hawks could easily pull off a sneaky run back into contention next year. They’d need a lot to go right, but of the sides listed I think it’s fair to argue they’ve got the best shot at going from also-rans to contenders.

AFL Trades 2019 report card: Every club graded

Pretty similar to what I came up with last night.

In terms of potential contenders:

West Coast and Geelong have kept themselves in flag contention.

Doggies and Dees addressed significant holes in their lists and could meaningfully contend at a higher level next year as a result (obviously huge ??? over Melbourne, but they’ve got the talent).

Tigers, Pies, Giants, Lions & Bombers are all treading water, which is okay for the first four (especially Lions given their youth and Tigers given the return of Rance), not so much for the Dons.

The rest:

Hawks and Roos brought in a decent haul without much going the other way, so a tick for them.

Suns did pretty well, slight downgrade for the probable loss of Martin for nothing.

Saints and Dockers had their hands forced by players wanting out, but I think did pretty well given those circumstances.

Carlton and Sydney did very little of note, despite all the talk. Blues could upgrade themselves if they finagle Martin for nothing.

Crows and Power may have needed the clean-out, but “disaster clean-up” is still a failure mark overall, given they lost a lot of depth and didn’t bring much in in return.

Will be interesting to see who opens for the Aussies in these games…all 3 of them are in such strong form that it’s hard to pick who deserves first go at it.

Monday is D-day for Steve Smith and David Warner

Oof. Thought Richmond at 5th was a bad call, but I definitely expected the Eagles and Pies to be top 2 after seeing it. Do not rate Demons and Crows in the top 3.
