Youth today bounce back very quickly. I’m almost 50 & a good nights rest is sufficient for another hard days work. Expect plenty left in the tank for 2 of the biggest games of the season coming up. GWS looked like they were only in 3rd gear against the port. What a game that will be Friday night.

Both ex Freo lads- Acres & Cerra were pivotal both finals games. Last night Acres goal, and cerra’s smother in the last 20 seconds were match winning moments . Dees didn’t loose this, rather Carlton held their nerve and won. And came from behind to do it. Dees simply couldn’t 1- deliver under pressure &2- ran out of steam. This was by far the most exhilarating win of my life – and the noise from crowd was deafening even from South east Asia – thanks AFL for making this great Game available overseas .. go Blues. #bring on Brisbane

I saw a different GWS mindset their last 2 games. They are hungry – like a lion that hasn’t eaten for 2 weeks- and this week it’s a free punch against a very ordinary port. GWS season is more than a pass mark & nothing to loose – Mr Koch caved into media pressure & resigned Hinkley X2. Love Hinkley, but not at port 2023& beyond IMO . Port are there for the taking. I wish carlton were playing port .

Don your call on GWS V Carlton GF when I read it a while back was at best fanciful. However just a couple days ago I thought, Gee don may be on the money. I also agree with you port will be overwhelmed with GWS. I’m still very nervous tho with Carlton . A good nervous .

No chance? Significant Gap? Dees only won 1&1/2 more games than Carlton in home& away. Don’t be sorry dougie- be excited, you’ll see one of the best games in2023 on Friday night & believe me- Carlton up to their eyeballs in this- and Melbourne know it.

Kennedy coming in is huge . He has had some great games 2023. Can take a mark – kick goals & play in the guts. I’ve heard whispers that Oliver isn’t a certainty . Hammy issues again + a problematic knee. Won’t be surprised to see him omitted as insurance for a potential prelim v Brisbane.

Oliver under an injury cloud. Most likely plays- but won’t have same impact. The talk is it’s worse than they are letting on. Watch this space. Regarding a broken toe. I’ve had em & absolutely it will hold you back . Mind you I never had a jab before playing but they stop you jumping & running flat out.

Kennedy will play forward & I’ll tip Ollie hollands could get a run. Huge tank & may need that in the last. . Despite JSOS being “ not ready” this week, I won’t be surprised to see him as a sub. Can’t wait for selection. Both Carlton & Melbourne.

Pete weather is forecast 25c and fine. Agree with the endurance beasts – Acres last week was everywhere . I watched hilights of Carlton’s home and away game against Melb few weeks back- Acres was huge- last 2 minutes he was massive . Like the idea of playing Kennedy @ 1/2 forward . I’m nervous . You’ll be sitting back enjoying a Singapore sling . Go blues.

Who comes in ? Jack for Jack? It’s a massive game against the dees. I want to believe we can, and I think with Melbourne struggling to kick a score- that’s where we can get em. But with Melbs defensive structure- will need all of our F50 to execute every chance .
