Yep…..can’t get my head around that 58 for the accused -0 for the victim figure….am I missing something here ?

#TimesUp NRL – we need to make a stand

Let’s not kid ourselves here either….for every charge that is recorded there would be more offences that are not reported because of the procedure , process and trauma the victims have to go through just to have their case heard….then there is the fear of a not guilty verdict and the stigma that goes with it for having made the charge…so they say nothing and hope it all goes away and they have to learn to live with it.
IMO it is a much bigger problem than meets the eye and deserves more attention than what it is presently receiving.

Jack de Belin charged with aggravated sexual assault

I think we might be on the same bus hereTB….when I say proven guilty I did’nt necessary mean in a court of law.
If there are reliable witnesses and sufficient evidence for the NRL to prove guilt outside of a court of law it is not only their responsible but their duty to the take action….but as I said previously up untill now they have not had the balls to consistently hand down penalties long enough to try and deter the crime…..untill they throw the feather duster away I’m afraid I don’t think things are going to change a great deal.
I also feel the coaches have a responsible not to try and apply pressure to get them back into the game before time …as one coach’s reasoning was ….’because he’s a good player’.
I can’t imagine what these victim and families must go through when it happens….but I sure they would expect the appropriate action to be taken.

Maybe Prevention is better than Redemption
Greenberg,Beattie and the commission should stop drawing lines in the sand and pull their heads out of the sand and look at the carnage around them.
IMO untill they start enforcing life bans for proven guilty serious assult chargers they are kidding themselves.
They seem to be thinking more about reforming these offenders….which is not a bad thing…rather than trying to prevent these offences.
Hopefully by increasing the penalties it might help to deter some of these offences.
Sometimes you’ve gotta be cruel to be kind.

At least there is intent there to try and change their attacking style for the coming season.
Any change would have to be an improvement on the same old same old predictable game plan they employed this year.
I think their success this year will rely heavily on Morgan taking the baton from Thurston and guiding the new look team around the park…consistently…for the whole game …every game ….for the whole season.
He certainly has all the required skills but IMO consistency is his main problem problem…he tends to go missing a little too often at times.
Hopefully he can find the form that made him a stand-out in the latter part of the 2017 season.

Cowboys to gamble on off the cuff attack

The ‘time’ must be suficent to try and deter the crime.

Dylan Walker stood down after assault charges

Here we go again.
Given …innocent untill proven guilty….but if found guilty I hope it’s handled better than the Matt Lodge debarcle.
This will be one of Todd Greenberg’s greatest nightmares. He drew a line in the sand with Lodge….will be interesting to see if that line is still there or if the tide has washed it away.

Have to agreed db….think he should be first cab off the rank.

Cooked Cook, McInnes Masterchef: Why Cook’s Origin jersey should be given to crafty Cameron

Mitchell for me…has the X factor.

Who would you rather: Latrell Mitchell or Joseph Manu?

IMO it’s a dead set photo finish…..but I would have to give my nod to Klemmer.
Only because Fifita does my head in when I watch him play…..sometimes some of the ‘stupid’ penilites he gives away can undo all the hard yards and advantages that the team had gained .
If someone could inject some brain cells into that pumpkin he has between his ears he could be anything….he’s definitely got all the skills.

Who would you rather: Andrew Fifita or David Klemmer?

There are winners and there are winners who sometimes turn into losers.

Wayne Bennett cracks jokes during his first Rabbitohs press conference

Yeah it is a real interesting scenario Don…we have a cunning old fox and a relatively young cocky new boy on the block locking horns before the pre-season has even started….has the makings of a couple of not to miss blockbusting games for the next couple of seasons.
Who will end up with the bragging rights?….again time will tell.
In the short term I feel Seibold has the much harder task in front of him than Bennett.
IMO before Seibold can’t even start thinking about being successfull at the Broncoes until he firstly wins over the dressing room and then just as importantly the dyed in the wool Bronco/Bennett supporters …and so he will need a healthy for and against card for the season to achieve that.
Bennett will come out running in the dressing room and supporters department….because of his previous record.
Not being either a Bronco or Rabbit supporter if I was forced to go with one team over the next couple of seasons I think I would sit in the Bronco corner.
Why?….I like the idea of a fresh and apparently smart young coach who has watched the game change and evolve over the last few year and is willing to introduce some new ideas that might suit the modern game. And the icing on the cake is IMO is he has potentially an untapped young talented side to work with and implement these ideas….and hope they work of course.
On the other hand the Rabbits have Bennett and a great team full of experience and ready to go….but the coach and team ar’nt getting any younger and maybe starting to get ready to slip into their comfort zone.
So the bottom line is I guess I’m going potential to beat experience over the next couple of seasons.

There are no winners in the NRL coach shuffle

Don’t think it will be stuffed with $50 bills.

'Benny' did the Broncos board off the break

Wayne made his own bed now he has to lie in it….although it may be a bit harder than what he hoped for.

'Benny' did the Broncos board off the break

Come on Emcie….man up and move on mate.

Broncos sack Bennett, sign Seibold

Thanks Nat…..now we can all get on with ‘real’ game…..hopefully.

Broncos sack Bennett, sign Seibold

Amen….thank God common sense has prevailed.

So where do you get your information from ‘fan88’ ?
Please let us know so some of us dumbwits can all get on the same ‘bus of knowledge’ your on.

Wayne Bennett says no to early Souths move

With all due respect Nat I appreciate your opinion but I’m still not convinced ‘it’s done’ yet….but then again that is only my option also.
As I’ve said before …time will tell.
Let’s wait and see what the new year brings.

Wayne Bennett says no to early Souths move

I’ll be the odd man out here and put my head on the chopplng block and say there will be changes in coaches for the Rabbits and Broncos before the start of the 2019 NRL season.
Firstly IMO I can’t see Seibold coaching the Rabbits next year regardless of Bennett decision.
He has lost the dressing room and support of the fans already and he would find find it impossible to coach under those conditions.
I feel if the swop doesn’t eventuate he will sit out the 2019 season.
Having said that IMO I still think the change will happen and Seibold will be coaching the Broncos and Bennett the Rabbits.
Why.?…because like you I do believe ‘some ‘ of the media do get carried away with their imagination…but I don’t believe you can tar all of the media with the same brush and I belive some of them do have reliable sources and report it as it is.
Weather it be Sport, Politics or a Court of Law there are always accussations and deniles and sometimes the end results are not what we expected.
Time will tell….cause while the drums are still beating and fire is still smoking ….this saga ain’t over yet.
IMO there are still a a few twists and turns to be played out before it’s over.

it ain’t over yet.
There’s a few twists and turns left in this saga yet.

Wayne Bennett says no to early Souths move

Yeah …time will tell …cause it ain’t over yet.
This ‘circus’ is not going anywhere right now….it’s got a few more acts to be performed before it moves on.
I only hope common sense prevails in the long run.

Experts expose the heartbreaking reason why the NRL is doomed

Maybe Nat…but Wayne tends to ‘feed the chooks’ when it suits him and not the game and the fans and he ,like the media, has been known to be loose with the truth at times ,as I said previously without the game and fans where would he be.

Experts expose the heartbreaking reason why the NRL is doomed

I agree Emcie…the whole Bronco/South coaching saga has turned into a complete debacle.
If it wasn’t so serious it would have the makings for a good comedy.
To read and hear what Wayne Bennett is doing to avoid facing the media ….leaving via back doors ,hiding in the back seat of a car and hiding in a toilet is head shaking stuff.
I can’t believe a so called leader in the game is carrying on like this.Surely he must realise that the NRL and fans desrve some reasonable explanation to what is going on.
Wayne should remember that as much as he has achieved in the game if it was’nt for the game and the fans he would’nt be who he is today….he seems to think he is bigger than the game and it’s all bout him….the game and fans deserve more.
IMO I think Wayne should man up and move on or the Bronco Board should show some balls and move him on.
For the good of the game the circus has got to come to an end and let the clubs and fans get back to what they should be doing …enjoying the great game of rugby league.

Experts expose the heartbreaking reason why the NRL is doomed

As an old cockatoo sitting on the fence watching the circus perform I find myself noding in agreement to some of your comments regarding Wayne Bennett preserving his SuperCoach image over his latter years and the rosters he has had over his coaching career.
I have not been attached to any of the clubs he has coached or will coach but I will say that the respect and admiration I had for him in the early years of his coaching career has since eroded and now what I see is a ” it’s about Wayne” attitude and a man ,I feel , thinks he has become than the game.
IMO I think Wayne should heed his own advice that he has given his past loyal players….”your time is up, it’s time to move on, don’t play one season too long.”

Bit of class Wayne, that's all we Novocastrians ask

Emcie time will tell and let’s hope the Tigers don’t miss making the finals by 2 points.
This game will then be dead and buried and not even a memory.
