AFL had State of Origin (since discontinued). NRL adopted the idea & has been a major success. AFL had interchange, NRL introduced something similar. Perhaps the NRL should follow AFL’s lead & get rid of the sin bin & send offs. Only joking.

Three ideas from other sports the NRL should copy

Leave the Saints alone. Who do you support Cameron? Perhaps they should be relocated.

Welcome Tasmania, but the AFL should be a 16-team competition so three clubs must go

Re: PVL’s comment on gambling & “his betting on first try scorer” is irresponsible in view of the societal problem gambling can create. I recognise that despite his “bull at a gate” attitude.he successfully guided the game through troubled Covid waters (apologies to Simon & Garfunkel) however his general attitude at times leaves a lot to be desired. Thoughts.

NRL Magic Round preview talking points: Who’s excited to watch some wagering content?

I am confident the “Friday Night Broncos” can handle such “adversity”

Ange needs a bigger challenge. The Scottish comp (apart from Celtic & Rangers who regularly fail in the Europeans Cups) is a tinpot League equivalent to English Divisions One.

Scotland is conquered, time for Postecoglou to move on, but does a Premier League team have the guts?

Good morning Tony. No coincidence that Craig Fitzgibbon is doing well after working under Robbo. Ryles has worked under both Robbo & Bellamy. “Learning from the best”

A flashback to the year 2000 and a very curious coaching coincidence

Just reported the assailant has been refused bail. His solicitor “it was out of character & in self defence”. Apparently he was a suspended player. Hopefully the court system will deal out appropriate punishment.

Footballer refused bail after 'disgusting and cowardly' broken jaw ref attack as Greenacre club pulls out of competition

Good morning Tony. Whilst Wayne Bennett represented Qld, Gibbo, Robbo & Bellamy didn’t reach great heights as players. Wonder where the next “supercoaches” are?

The wheels starting to fall off the Panthers bus. Ivan looking a bit “tired”. This result will take some beating for “upset of the year”.

Tigers terrrrific: Wooden spooners cause boilover of the year by upsetting Panthers in wet at Bathurst

Good morning Tony. Old TV show (probably before your time) Father Knows Best. Andre probably told the gullible Knights that Kalyn had been approached by Rugby Australia with a massive offer. Wonder if Adam O’Brien will last the season?

Knightmare: Ponga fails to impress in Newcastle horror show

Has Broad stopped laughing since he heard Warner had been selected?

Thanks Stuart Broad: you've helped us realise that England have NEVER won the Ashes

Wearing his NSW “racing hat”, PVL sees Victoria as the enemy & has deliberately scheduled big race days to clash with similar high profile meetings down south. He is displaying the same attitude with Rugby Union. In both cases, the sporting public would prefer to see the “combatants” live in harmony as the level of sniping would be castigated if little children were involved let alone “grown men”.

Rugby living rent free in NRL's head but childish chairmen of both codes raise questions on governance issues

Didn’t Junee &Johnny Mayes swap between the two clubs?

How would the 13 Immortals fare in the modern game, and what positions would they play?

Re: Artie. Still recall him attracting 2 or 3 defenders then slipping a pass to one of the fastest players over a short distance, Kevin Junee &quite often the move would produce a try.

Alfie may have slowed down a little however his “game management “ skills haven’t dimmed.

Good morning Tony. I thought Alfie hadn’t retired & was still “playing” with the Broncos.

I understand you referring to Dugan & Carney as “troublemakers” as they were repeat offenders yet Wighton was “alleged” to have done something a lot worse. Canberra stood by him. What price loyalty?

Wighton’s Rabbitohs switch says more about Ricky’s Raiders than flaws in NRL’s chaotic contract system

Good morning Tony. How times have changed. Players were “one team players” until around late 60’s/early 70’s when Manly raided other sides (notably Wests) & Easts also enticed players from elsewhere. With the advent of the salary cap & subsequently, player managers, movement of players is constant & very few will play out their their career at one club. Thoughts.

The players who’ve really got their mojo working after changing clubs

As “Jack the lad” pleaded guilty, I thought the term “alleged” was inappropriate.

'After the games it’d be Raiders and Rabbitohs': Tom Burgess on lockdown sessions that might bring Wighton to Souths

Tom Burgess “Jack’s a good lad”. Wonder whether the victim of his off field “activity” a few years ago would agree? Any character reference from the Burgess boys should be disregarded.

Don’t think Big Sam was a success in his short stint in your so called World Game where the highlight is resetting of scrums while the clock keeps ticking. Of the four football codes, rugby runs a poor last for time the ball is“ in play”.

Rugby's interest only a minor Payne in Broncos’ Haas hunt with Walters confident star prop will stay long term

Who was the last forward who successfully transitioned between the codes? I agree that rugby is great. A great cure for insomnia!

The salary cap alone as you pointed out Paul, is not a panacea for the majority of clubs to taste GF success. With apologies to George Orwell “All teams are equal but some are more equal than others”.
