The ARU and the code of rugby is utter garbage, sooner it all folds the better. Get off the Aussie landscape….good riddance to it. Absolute waste of air. RIP.

Really! I’m a kiwi, live in Christchurch, whilst rugby is ingrained here, it certainly isn’t going forward in public opinion and participation right now. The general public are more interested in football and basketball with numbers increasing yearly, and I can’t blame them. Rugby has history and an older demographic. Right now the interest in NPC is close to nothing here, empty stands and poor quality. The NRL I believe has bigger interest and following presently, anecdotally within NZ. The NRL as a spectacle is well above the rugby broadcast into my living room between NZ and Oz. Let’s see what the RWC dishes up, but let’s be honest we wait 4 years to see it. Don’t forget rugby was the original and has tried many ways over the years to block RL progress. Personally I like Rugby League over Rugby Union, regardless of what is bigger or reasons why it may be bigger. I personally wouldn’t use the NPC as supporting evidence, it’s like super rugby, constantly looking at how it can be improved, but here it lies, I think it’s the product, it has direct competition from rival sports, which I believe all do it better between NZ/Oz.
