Col and Macca – Do you think Carlton will take Cripps at your first pick 25 ? He will be gone at your second pick 64.

That’s my point ……two picks will always be the better option. A Bontempelli maybe but not a run of the mill outside runners like Cerra and Clark.

Starting to BS and waffle now.

Glad your happy so am i. Hope he lives up to the hype and expectations that surrounds him, to a lesser degree Clark is the same boat. Time will tell if they can handle the mental pressure.

Sorry about that but it’s still two picks for one player regardless. Carlton should be going into the the draft more instead of poaching other clubs. You could land another Walsh.

Being a Mont’s supporter have i followed Sheldrick for two years. Seriously……you are the last person i would look for information from.

Cerra was pick 6 and Carltons second rounder next year. Two picks for a good player not a match winner is a great return for Freo. Very few players are worth two selections. Cerra leaving also saved $350,000 and brought in Will Brodie.

Geelong have some good picks 22 -30-32-34 about where Sheldrick will go a great replacement for Selwood. Strongly built tough as nails, ball magnet who runs all day.

Surely Carlton won’t take Cripps with there first pick at 25 do they need a ruckman ?There second pick is 64 but he probably he will probably go 40-50. Unlikely the Eagles would take him at 35. Freo could get him at 61.

True Peter Carlton have only three picks in the draft including 64 and 82 is a poor effort.

“ Freo cleans up when any one good wants to leave “ That’s true with Cerra but not Hogan he cost Free two first round picks and when he left they got pick 69.

Sooks go home…… most go for more money which is fair enough.

West Coast will get 3 great pickups at 10-29-35 There is abundance of talent in WA of players that will go between 10 and 40.

Freo clearly should be number one they have recruited two players with a lot of potential. They have picks 6-8-19-61 68-84 and a pick in next years draft at the expense of Carlton. Freo have seven picks to improve their list and Carlton have only three 25-64 -82 that is a huge difference. Carlton recruited three players two are average at best one averages 7 kicks and 10 H/B per game and has been mainly used as a tagger. Both these teams have supposably rated well in the past but not improved much. Neither team will jump out of the ground but Freo obviously fared the better.

Great effort Charlie you have done well.

They don’t get any tougher and so much stamina than this guy.

Why we should all be holding our horses on Horne-Francis

F/B winner and a great player is Walsh no doubt. I agree he is not a match winner. How many games has he won for Carlton ?

That’s a great first comment on the site. What State do you hail from ?

That’s true. Sheldrick is a strongly built bull and a ball magnet who wasn’t rated that high originally but looks to be a early second rounder. Great pickup at 22 for Geelong to replace their ageing mids. Freo gave up 22 for Clark. Angus is way better than Clark.

I am sure the Eagles will be in the hunt as well big Nic-Nat is racking up some birthdays as well.

Greg Clark: The mature-age WAFL sensation your club needs

Hopefully yeah, Bob is a huge win for Freo a great man and will certainty have a impact around the club.

Hopefully Freo open their eyes.

Agree Thom Freo’s biggest weakness has been big forwards for years it is beyond belief they have not recruited him. Taberner spends half of every season out injured. Lobb has missed a lot as well and he will be just going through the motions again this year. The only other tall Treacy is young gun but needs more support. No doubt they will draft some in the upcoming draft but he would be a good backup for when Taberner and Lobb will fall over again.

Great article Stirling. I think North are insane to knock back the offers they received. The chance to have two first round picks and a player far outweighs just one possible star who is moving interstate to the weakest club.He will not be a match winner and 2-3 choices will always be better than one.
