All the talk has been about the Wallabies.

I have seen absolutely nothing about Super Rugby. Once again RA just worried about the top and nothing underneath.

Why 2023 must start with a bang for Australian rugby

ive seen the crowds at kiwi games, lower that alot of aussie games.

Rugby Australia must follow the AFL's lead to rejuvenate the sport... and bring in the money

AFL, NRL, A-League, NBL , ABL even Big bash have more games in a Season than Super Rugby…
Co-incidence that all these codes perform better than rugby? The season should not be over in June, It needs to run until at least August. We are disadvantaging our players (and coaches) by giving them less and less games to develop when compared to every other Rugby comp in the world.

Take SL at Munster. He’s has coached twice as many games compared to if he had coached in Australia. When match experience is everything, why do we continue to handicap ourselves…?

Why Super Rugby is broken and how Australia must shift the focus to save domestic game

I can only speak for my area but my two cents on:

Cost:
Brumbies and Tahs are both cheaper than their competition in NRL and AFL for Daily Tickets (and most memberships as well).
Brumbies, Tahs, Reds and Rebels all offer free ticket to junior rugby players to every home game.

Community:
All the clubs spend significant amounts of time EVERY week in the community, perhaps they just need to get better at promoting those activities.

'Trapped in this recurring nightmare': My new plan to resuscitate rugby

The idea that if you don’t like Rugby you can piss off is not a helpful one.

Other sports continue to change to attract bigger audiences. Big Bash Cricket is just one example of a traditionalist sport moving with the times. AFL and NRL regular change interpretations of the rules, so does football (the largest sport in the world). By refusing to adapt and change with the times, you doom Rugby to obscurity in Australia.

Rugby's greatest strength can make it Australia's number one international sport

Is rugby not a global game?
why SR teams continue to handicap themselves? The Force brought in overseas reinforcement and made finals. Would it not be better for teams to be completive by being able to sign the best players? Australian team are going to take 10-15 years to even compete with the NZ teams. Would you just rather them lose for that period of time? losing does not help the game. you have to address both short and long term problems.

What can Australian rugby learn from constantly losing?

European Rugby Clubs are not solely made up of local players, yet those competitions are thriving. Maybe there is something in that.

What can Australian rugby learn from constantly losing?

Pretty simple solution to me really.

Stop treating in like an international competition. Its not.

It is a club competition. I don’t care who is playing for my team as long as they are winning. If that means there are 10 kiwis in the Reds or Brumbies then so be it. Super Rugby is a club competition and needs to be completely separate from Aust V NZ.

Its like being a football(soccer) team and saying you don’t want Messi or Ronaldo just because they are from another country (assuming you can afford the wages)

What can Australian rugby learn from constantly losing?

Not everything is about the national teams. It is about improving the strength of SRP. If the Aussie teams need NZ players to win championships, so be it.

The provincial poach: How Australia could start filling their Super Rugby sides today

SR is a club competition, not a national competition. Its not Aust V NZ, its club vs club.

I want my team to have the best players and win championships. If that means Kiwis and Aussies playing together then so be it. Refusing to sign the best talent because they come from a certain country in counter-productive.

Its like saying I don’t want Messi because he is Argentinian. I wouldn’t turn down a Barrett if there was a chance he could play for the Reds or Brumbies.
