I only noticed Wilson doing that in the game against the Blues. IMO that was because that Ref was letting absolutely anything go in the breakdown and Kiss noticed this so told Wilson to just get in the way and slow the ball down.

Five things: The Reds have flipped the script - and it promises to be rewarded at the Wallabies selection table

Agree, I dont think he has played perfectly and deserves a Wallaby spot instantly. But he has exceeded my expectations and I do think when he doesn’t have that thigh injury he is by far the best Reds 10 we have.

The five Aussie young guns who should be celebrated - and the one who is ready for the Wallabies

Lynagh has greatly impressed me this season, he always seems to just have time before every decision. Before this niggle he currently has, his kicks to touch have some impressive distance to them and I’ve thought the Reds have played the best with Lynagh on.

Was most worried about the midfield so very happy about Flook. This will be a very difficult game for the Reds however we still have enough players to compete (and hopefully win) with the added benefit of this being a home game.
Hoping the play like they did against the chiefs and highlanders and not like they did again MP and the force.

'It's disappointing': Petaia's Super season over - and it could end his Reds career

Do you know what time in the game it roughly happened. I didn’t watch the whole game so didn’t know about Lomani’s action until Geoff wrote about it.

The Wrap: Why SANZAAR must hold Frank Lomani accountable for 'going back for his hat'

Great signing and at 28 he is only still in his prime for a while yet. Does anyone know the length of the contract cause all I can see is it just says “long-term”.

Huge coup sees Wallabies hooker coming home to Super Rugby on long-term deal, with World Cup in sights

My memory of his performance against the Brumbies was him dropping a couple, missing a shot at goal and not achieving much in attack. I do agree that he offers more on the bench, I would just rather him not play at 10.

Super Rugby teams round 8: Tahs drop Marky Mark, Kellaway returns for Rebels, HMP replaces Lynagh

Happy that Hodgman is back for the Reds, I don’t mind resting some of the players against Moana but I am still worried about Creighton. Still yet to see him make any impact on a Super Rugby game. Am hoping we can put the game away before then but don’t want to underestimate Moana.

I agree with you, didnt see your first comment.

Drua 'shocked at racial abuse' as Lomani faces judiciary over Canham blow

“This is blatant obstruction. If refs are not going to crack down on it, expect players to react.” Fiwiboy’s comment implies that if the referee had done a better job Lomani wouldn’t of ‘had’ to assault the player.
That comment is taking the blame off Lomani and moving it to the referee (and Canham). This also implies it was a simple reaction to a bad referee’s call and not assault which it is in any other circumstance.

Yes but there is a difference between reacting and assaulting a player.

You’re not wrong about a good coach resting however the Reds have Moana next week and then a bye so I would much rather Kiss play his best team and then rest some of the players against Moana (no offense but an easier game than the Brumbies) and then the remaining players getting the bye to relax.

Super Rugby teams week six: Foketi back after horror injury, Suli benched, Sam Carter set for debut, DMac rested

Full credit to the Force for their win, as a Reds supporter it was an awful game to watch. Force won that game by taking every opportunity and working harder than the Reds. The Reds were sluggish however the stats actually show the Reds had 9-5 clean breaks, 28-12 defenders beaten. 7-3 offloads and 95% of rucks won. The important thing was though the WF managed to turn essentially every opportunity into a score. We were in their 22 for about 5mins early in the first half but didn’t score and then WF quickly scored 4 off a couple of Reds mistakes.
Whilst I’m not overly worried for my Reds, I do want to congratulate the WF for a bloody good win .

Five things we learned: Schmidt's selection headache, Carter's a No.12 wildcard, and $1m Thor must step up

Hard to argue with too many of your selections, not surprising the Reds at topping most of their positions. The biggest one I disagree with is Liam Wright at 6, I’m very hopeful that Liam can stay injury free this season and that Schmidt selects him as I feel like he is far and away the best Aus 6. His breakdown work has allowed the Reds to have 60% LQB (as per Nick Bishop’s article), he is second for lineouts won and his tackles made is 91% for the comp (51/56).

Wallabies Power Rankings: How every Test contender is shaping up one month into Super Rugby

You are correct about Jordie being punished in the game, I’m not sure though if the judiciary panel takes any of that into consideration when determining the length of the ban. That is part of the issue as I don’t mind if they do consider these things as long as the are consistent and preferably more transparent.

Super Rugby teams: Rookie at 10 for Reds, DC dips into club footy in hooker crisis, Jorgo ruled out, White benched

My apologies, I thought Barrett was banned for 2 weeks. My point still stands about the lottery in regards to the length of the bans.

Super Rugby teams: Rookie at 10 for Reds, DC dips into club footy in hooker crisis, Jorgo ruled out, White benched

Its even more frustrating now that Sef received a 4 week ban as the argument that O’Keefe missed foul play from both teams (the high tackle and then the late tackle) is no longer valid. The high shot was punished and the Reds were told post game by officials the late shot should have been a yellow.
The thing that baffles me is that Sef received double the ban that Jordie Barrett got for his tackle on Petaia. I just wish they had any form of consistency on the cards and bans regardless of your team or your fabled last name.

Thanks for the wrap Geoff. In other news last week, the Reds announced they would be playing Wales at Suncorp on the 19th July. This was apparently supported by Wales to add a third game and the Brisbane Gov to encourage tourism.
Should hopefully be a cracker of a game and happy to know QRU is putting extra effort in.

The Wrap: The two massive power shifts shaping Australian and New Zealand rugby

Bloody good win boys. I was at the game and the 17,000 sounded a lot louder than that. Great performance for the forwards with the line out and scrum both firing brilliantly.
Funnily enough, it was 23 phases last year when we beat as well so maybe that is our lucky number.

'Over the moon': Reds deny Chiefs for 23 PHASES to win 'titanic' trans-Tasman clash as Kiss' revolution continues

I would definitely have a sook if Wright got injured again. The bloke has been injured for about 70% of the past couple seasons.
Fortunately, Holloway isn’t even good enough to hurt Wright. 😛

Five things we learned: Aussies given early Super Rugby warning, Lolesio's timely reminder

It wasn’t Leota, commentary got it wrong but you point still stands about Noah’s pace.

is that the Reds vs Tahs attendance maybe, you did say more than Melbourne?

The Wrap: Opening round of SRP a case of the more things change, the more they stay the same

At 75:45 you can see Holloway swing an arm pretty clearly into Liam Wright’s head. Pretty grub act especially considering Wright is at the back of a caterpillar ruck, meaning Holloway illegally entered the ruck just to hit him in the head (intentionally).
I reckon Holloway was just a bit sooky after being down 40-22.

Five things we learned: Aussies given early Super Rugby warning, Lolesio's timely reminder

Not too sure why Campbell isn’t starting, besides that though I would say its a full strength team. happy that Lynagh is starting and Nasser is back finally from injury.
Biggest worry is the scrum, in the trial it looked like Bell was dominating Nonggorr so will be interesting to see if that has changed. Should be a great game, Reds by 13.

Super Rugby teams round 1: Fresh Rodda blow, Tahs forced into backline move after Foketi drama

Very excited for this season with the Reds. Normally that just sets me up for disappointment later in the year but I’m hopeful this year will be different.
Not expecting to win/make the finals first year with Kiss but would consider it a great success if we finish the season with a winning record and/or make the semis.

All signs point to a Reds resurgence - if players can truly embrace the strengths of Les Kiss
