I’m struggling to see how objectively the Hawks can be ranked at 2 on this list. Missed out on their key targets in McKay, Ratogolea and Henry and the players they brought in didn’t attract any interest from other clubs. At best the players they brought in are slightly better than the ones they let go.
Ginnevan has upside but I’m pretty sure the Collingwood list managers have a better idea of where he is at and he is certainly no Steve Johnson. Playing Gunstan will hinder the development of other players. Giving Chol a 4 year deal with a 5th year option seems optimistic for a near 27-year-old with about 60 games experience.

AFL Trade Period power rankings: Super Swans, Docker shocker, and the best deal in Gold Coast's history

The reality is that in a normal season, Hawthorn would be the wooden spooners. This however is not a normal season as the bottom two sides are so bad they distort the competition.

If you take out the Hawks 3 from 3 against their fellow cellar dwellers, they are 2 wins from 15 with a percentage of 64.8. Hard to see that transforming into a finals side next year.

Forget the tank talk - Sam Mitchell has his Hawks on track for finals next year

No even a day old and this analysis is fish and chip paper,

Why Collingwood will claim the 2022 wooden spoon

Amused by Crisp who won the Copeland and Adams who is likely to be Collingwood’s next captain being named on the interchange bench.

AFL trade period power rankings

That is bad but the one paid against Cameron Zurhaar in the Collingwood – North game where he had a shot from CHF that came off the side of the boot and was penalised for insufficient attempt to keep the ball in was easily the worst decision this year.

"The ump's had a brain fade!" Is this the worst decision of 2021?

Hawks lost all 4 games they played the sides you ranked 15th to 18th! Their current ladder position is probably a truer reflection of where they are at.

AFL power rankings: Here's where your team is at

Don’t let the facts get in the way way. The trade you are referring to was Collingwood pick 25 for Adelaide’s pick 27 and 2020 third round pick.

Buckley stepping down as Collingwood coach

Instead of writing endless repetitive articles complaining about the current state of Collingwood, you should put your hand up and stand for the board at the next AGM, especially seeing as you know what the solutions are.

A revolt ten black and white years in the making

Why would you play someone who is currently injured?

Collingwood need a spill!

Just as an FYI, Bianco is currently injured.

A letter to the Collingwood Football Club

As I have stated a couple of times already “The only certainty about Collingwood’s future is more negative articles by this author. ”
I’m not sure the author even bothers to watch the games closely. Complains about Henry being dropped and Ruscoe being relegated to being the sub for Round 2. Henry had 4 possessions in RD 1 and Ruscoe had 3. Far from sitting “unused on the bench” as the author claims, Mayne played out the game on Friday.
Is the author even aware that some of the draftees have had interrupted preseasons following a year without football? Or that the VFL hasn’t even started yet?
The Pies ran one of the premiership contenders to a one point loss after making several big mistakes in the last quarter. Plenty to work on but plenty to like as well.
Time for the author to find a new hobby. The Pies bashing is getting boring.

Where is Collingwood's strategy?

Unfortunately for North they don’t get to play the clearly worst side in the AFL, so it is hard to see who they will actually beat based on the first three rounds.

Why North Melbourne will not win the 2021 wooden spoon

Pretty amazing to write the club off on the back of a loss where they had one less scoring shot against a very good team but that’s the author for you. Seems also the author watched on TV. At the ground you see so much more.
Plenty of things to improve like not dropping marks inside 50 and Howe dropping one that resulted in a Martin goal but some bad luck as well.
While the Dogs deserved to win, as you say some bad luck like the missed push in the back that resulted in a Doggies’ goal and the ball that clipped Moore’s heel and ended up in an another goal. From memory the Pies hit the post 4 times as well.

Collingwood breaking

As I commented on the author’s previous article: “The only certainty about Collingwood’s future is more negative articles by this author. “

Collingwood breaking

The only certainty about Collingwood’s future is more negative articles by this author. Maybe football just isn’t your game and you should find something you enjoy.

What does the future hold in store for Collingwood?

Except that they had 5 picks in the top 31 in the 2020 draft and have a top 3 father-son prospect in Nick Daicos locked in for this years’ draft.

Who's in danger of falling out of the top eight in 2021?

Surely Mason Cox’s goal vs Gold Coast in round 17 where he took a mark on 50 and played on in the wet, took a bounce and then nailed the shot on the run could be included in this list?

Ten most disrespectful goals from the 2020 AFL season (Part 2)

Clarkson is no master of media manipulation. The problem is that the journos aren’t prepared to call him out. Surely someone at the press conference could have asked how Frawley smashing into Papley from behind constiutes milking free kicks?

Six talking points from AFL Round 8

Your first paragraph on Collingwood is incorrect. The Pies actually kicked the first 5 goals of the game. They were never 5 goals down.
