Of course it’s subjective. I have to disagree with the 2019 GF being last – for one reason.
I was in Bali (of all places) during that GF, and being Bali, Giants jumpers were sold cheap. I think every non-Tiger was wearing one, talk about an orange tsunami. Until half-time. Then the rubbish bins started to fill up. By game’s end, the bins were overflowing with orange guernseys. Fantastic Grand Final memory.

Every grand final of the 2000s, ranked first to 24th: Which classic is 'the most underrated decider in footy history'?

Perhaps it isn’t getting enough coverage in Victorian media. Maybe it could just be East Coast favouritism. Those with a syndrome will find a way.

AFL News: Booze-fuelled Mad Monday barney sends star Swan to surgeon, Frampton comes alive, Ratten back at Hawks

I’m going to be a big fat Judge, dining on all this delicious irony – Collingwood members greatest enemies seem to be other Collingwood members.

I wonder if those Tier 1 members feel any empathy for the home team members they kicked out of MCG reserved seats, when Collingwood was the away team?

Outrage as farcical Ticketek flaw leaves thousands of Magpies premium members without grand final seats

Not everyone disagrees with you Tim. I would have supported naming it after him twenty years ago.

COMMENT: It's time for the AFL to immortalise Ron Barassi - and only one prize is worthy of his name

I absolutely endorse that idea Milo.

Vale Barass, no matter how expert the person talking, conversations stopped when you spoke. Truly, an extraordinary life.

'Full and extraordinary life': AFL legend Ron Barassi dies aged 87

I see it that way too Bunney – if he turns the other way and brings his hands in instead, he might accidentally clip Brayshaw with an elbow but chances are he can soften the impact or even push away. Easy to say though. Split-second actions like this rely on instincts – obviously (from his actions and his own statements) Maynard’s instincts are for the clash, rather than the fend-off.

The victim-blaming that Brayshaw’s own momentum was somehow a reason can be discarded – he had the ball and correctly disposed of it before being hit late.

What will happen? I’m honestly surprised one of the numerous sports bookies the AFL sold their soul to don’t offer odds on the outcome. Actually – that’s not a thing yet is it?

Also, like Beetlejuice, did he appear when you typed that? I’d be too afraid to try – rather have Beetlejuice and all his shenanigans than Kane.

Mini-grand finals, Saints' Toby tamer, should Pies play Cox? Five burning questions for AFL Finals Week One

Did you mention him more than the article did?

Mini-grand finals, Saints' Toby tamer, should Pies play Cox? Five burning questions for AFL Finals Week One

Leave Curtain. Is Freo the only other possiblity for him? What I’ve seen of him, I wouldn’t have thought he would still be on the table by Round 2.

Finished too high on the ladder got a chuckle.

The Eagles' first Pick 1 this century is worth more than anything they could trade it for - here's why

We agree on that. What footage I’ve seen and from what I’ve read and heard of Curtain, he’s ready to go, and should slot right in at the Eagles. People who think they’re not going to bounce right back might be very surprised when they get a decent run at it. Sooner, rather than later.

Having said that, the footage and reports on Reid are pretty flattering – his VFL games impress me more than anything. I don’t think West Coast go wrong either way – is there a way to get both?

The Eagles' first Pick 1 this century is worth more than anything they could trade it for - here's why

Is this because Freo traded their pick? By that I mean – is it then safe to leave him, as they don’t have a pick, or do they?

The Eagles' first Pick 1 this century is worth more than anything they could trade it for - here's why

Because one year Brad Scott knew a dead rubber when he saw it, and rested some players against the Tigers (and still won). Gillon didn’t like that, not one bit. Now we have a wasted week, that unfairly contradistinguishes the teams that finished first and second (compared to the non-bye era).

How about a system that rewards the minor premier? What is the actual difference between where Collingwood finished and where Melbourne finished?

I’ll just quietly climb down off the soap box, but it does annoy me.

Touched by defenders only?

Six Points: The coach killer to end all coach killers, and why score review system will always be imperfect

So if it is touched by an attacking player, it is a behind? To remove the “punch it through” issue. Interesting. You might win me over.

Footy Fix: The Crows were stone cold robbed... but they've only got themselves to blame

Wouldn’t you get people just trying to punch it through from up to 20 metres out? It would also remove that goal line desperation of trying to prevent the ball from crossing. I think you’re suggesting a big change, not a simple rule fix.

Footy Fix: The Crows were stone cold robbed... but they've only got themselves to blame

You surprised me there – Mihocek only having 9 touches, I would have thought more.

Six Points: The ARC got Petracca 'touched' call spot on, and the Matildas lesson the AFL must learn

and based on tonight? Maybe not.

What round is that Richmond v Gold Coast game, Don?

That about sums up how I see it – Amiss, Sheezel, Ashcroft, with Owens just behind them. Assuming Amiss plays the way he’s been playing, he’s Rising Star for mine, for exactly the reasons you’ve laid out Cloak, with Sheezel second for the reasons PD laid out. Not a knock on Ashcroft, he’s been extraordinary – but I’d have Amiss ahead of the pack.

Six Points: Why Ashcroft should still win Rising Star, and a message for Collingwood fans

Don't waste the time or money - ruckmen are the most overrated stock in the AFL

Ok, I’ll bite. What does determine a ruckman’s value for you Don? Is it simply winning hitouts, regardless of where they go?

So that’s the stopper for the guy whose fall-back is “You have no idea because you live in the east”. That’s how that feels, Don.

The Suns botch another coaching exit after hanging Stuart Dew out to dry

Since Cameron brought it up, and named the teams, why aren’t we suggesting those two merge to keep an 18 team comp (and ever so slightly reduce the Victorian weighting)?
I don’t espouse to the theory of comparing 1920s start-up teams with AFL equalisation era start-up teams, but is 12 years really long enough to know whether a Gold Coast team going to capture hearts and minds (and wallets)? Southport seem to do ok (still not sure why they weren’t the Gold Coast team).
As I have said here before, I honestly believe a couple less Melbourne teams (and 16 teams overall) would be the ideal league – player depth, player payments, state representation just a few benefits.
