I’m a passionate NFL fan, freelance writer and podcaster. I have been an NFL devotee ever since I discovered Hall of Fame running back Marshall Faulk in 1994. I find the strategic side of the game fascinating, and love studying the chess-like moves in every play. I have my own NFL blog called the Third Down Report. You can check it out here: www.thirddownreport.com. And the podcast I’m involved with is called In the Pocket: www.inthepocket.com.au. It’s myself, Jay Mueller, Steve Salisbury and Adam Rozenbachs talking all things NFL. I was fortunate to achieve my ultimate bucket list dream when I attended Super Bowl XLVIII in 2014. It’s exciting to see the sport grow rapidly in the Australian market. Feel free to tweet me anytime @td_report or @juicefizzle.

Hi Chris,

Isn’t it amazing how much the game has grown in Australia and how accessible it is now with ESPN and NFL Game Pass. How do you think the Eagles will go this year? Carson Wentz looks like a good young quarterback. I think you chose wisely in this years Draft.

Thanks for reading my article.

How good was Don Lane? Australians that have watched the sport as kids remember the good old days! The Greatest Show on Turf were an awesome team.

The Battle of Bristol was crazy, so many people! I think the only College games we would see in Australia would be from the west coast teams. From an NFL point of view, preseason football would be the only viable option.

Yes you are correct in saying that. A preseason game would be the only viable option.

Gees you have to be quick on here. Apologies for the typo, a continent like South America. I know the NFL has been in negotiations with countries like Brazil and Argentina. Thank you for picking me up on my typo.

Hi Peeeko,

The NFL is always looking for ways to promote the game abroad. And i agree Australia is certainly a long shot compared to other countries such as South America, China, Mexico and London. But it would be negligent from the NFL not to investigate with either the Bears or Warriors to get their opinions on the experiment.

I think Jared Goff will be an okay QB. I believe Carson Wentz is the better pick out of the two. Jared Goff seems a little immature at the moment and the fact that he isn’t the back-up QB is a little concerning from a development point of view. On Hard Knocks he seems to be the joker, he needs to concentrate on being the leader.
