I didn’t ever support the Magpies, but as a bush lad I always got in a game or two when visiting the city and Wests seem to have been on the itinery more often than not for some reason. I was a big fan of both Roy Ferguson and Graeme O’Grady and I think both finished up at St George at the ends of their careers. Both well known for their toughness but both also had plenty of skill.
I had the misfortune of going to school in a town near Cowra and having to play against Tom Raudonikus on a regular basis. He was a maniac even then!
Thanks for this series, the best thing going for league tragics especially us greybeards.

The forgotten players: Western Suburbs Magpies

Wow! Attempting to belittle the Bulldogs “culture” as being inferior to that offered by the Broncos takes some chutzpah.

Storm confirm exits for Croft, Scott

Why get snarky? Anything more than a casual glance would reveal to you that in accordance with Hasler practice, Manly were right up among the most cynical defensive teams this year. They would have been silly if they werent, it worked.
The channel 9 doctrine of minimal penalties, no sinbins and no sendoffs will continue until all the slow learners catch up and minimal football is played. Then what??

The 2019 NRL report card: the top eight

One of the charges is wte “being a member of an organised crime gang”. That to me is more worrying than the stabbing charge, in that Manly should know about that behaviour and do something about it, ie sack him before he became the problem he now is.
This smells of utter complacency from Manly, and they as much as Fainu have through this brought the game to another low point.

UPDATE: Manly hooker Manase Fainu stood down under NRL's no-fault policy

Sharks have plenty of ballast to throw overboard if they are serious about staying afloat.
Dugan, Johnston, Moylan are all supposedly on good money but in indifferent form. Finding a refuge for them might be difficult.

Why the Moylan-Matterson swap should happen

Maybe it is just me, but I can’t believe that Elliott Whitehead doesn’t come into calculations. Down the bottom you mention three possibles sides and he still didn’t get a mention.

My NRL team of 2019

I love your effort on this, and have only a few minor quibbles as to inclusions and rankings, but I am surprised that nowhere in your posts have you mentioned Elliott Whitehead. At the very least he should be in the conversation.
