I’m afraid Collingwood has become the “ Sara Lee” of Football clubs. Their problems are just layer upon layer upon layer, however the taste left in the mouth is very unpalatable and getting worse with each game and misspelled banner! Embarrassing
Buckley isn’t the only reason for Collingwood’s demise, but he’s a chief architect
Rubbish! He called consistently Taps to the opposition who unlike Collingwood, seem to be able to convert that opportunity to a try. He appears to make a lot of effort which is largely ineffective. Boohoo if he’s getting bad Press… at $1m a year, he has to expect that if he’s giving a schoolboy performance.

Being a newcomer to AFL, I don’t really know much about the intricacies of the game, but I do know about business…..it seems Collingwood the business has poor management, unskilled staff, overpaid staff for their contribution,unhappy customers, no business plan ( or a weak one) poor reviews, a history of racism, is a slothful beast slow to act on obvious trends of business downturn…. it is still of little relevance that they are a football club to me and so it seems, to them.

In regards to Collingwood…… I agree with your picks but what an indictment on Collingwood that Grundy, “ the Million Dollar a year man” isn’t on the list. He had better pull his sock up this year.

The problem is even if Eddie was ousted ( how could it happen), he will be as painful as Trump has been. If this were a company, the Management team would be replaced. Why should a sporting club be any different. Too many “jobs for the boys” too much Cronyism, too much incompetence…. all add up to a recipe for disaster and here we are. They can’t hide from this anymore and they will all be under the microscope because I think most of the members have massively turned on the decision makers. The mess is undeniable but unless those in charge change we’re stuck with it.

The Management ( and I use that term loosely) of Collingwood, have a lot to answer to, they have shown incompetence in their inability to perform basic mathematics, they have failed to communicate, they have lied. The Club is in a mess and it’s reputation has been affected. Eddie Maguire’s recent comments are ludicrous in trying to defend the indefensible. Cop it on the chin but don’t try to deny it when the pain is not over yet…. Grundy’s salary is another millstone around Collingwood’s neck…. good luck trying to trade him out given his performance last season.

How is it history when we see the same sickening game style each week? The demise of Collingwood is a “work in progress” – it’s like a footy version of “some Mothers do ‘ave ‘em” – all these things Les says are relevant and valid but the people in control are taking no notice. Listening to Buckley’s press conference today, he sounds exactly like a deluded gambler who’s on a massive losing streak that everyone but he can see and yet still runs to the ATM to get more money out…. also sounding like he’s talking it up to impress his new girlfriend- a performance video…. considering he had his head in his hands a few weeks ago (literally) when in reality more games have been lost, I would think he should be in more despair than trying to continue talking it up.
