Australian love winners and at the moment Australian football is a non winner from all its international teams through to weak youth development and a non existent media department.
The FFA has to lift its game if we are to be accepted and respected and not just seen a a sport played by athletes who are not good enough for NRL, AFL and Cricket.

How can Australian football attract new fans to the beautiful game?

chris I question Foords value to the team. She is there to score goals, but she just not score enough of them.

Frail Matildas downed by Canada as pressure on Gustavsson ramps up

Very disappointing she knows the votes lay with more support for AFL and NRL. No different to News Corp and Nine who are so disgustingly bigoted against football.

State Premier's role as a Legacy '23 ambassador is an insult to football in Australia

Just a thought, is it time for the Matildas to play a more counter attacking style. Defend in depth with a quick transition, would suit our best player Sam K especially if she gets one on one with an opposition defender.

Where’s our Rose. Probably playing AFL or NRL because there is certainly no equivalent in the Matildas set up. If don’t find these types of players to support Kerr and Fowler we be in the second division.

Mick, no I’m not annoyed, we have free speech and choice in this country, at least we used too. Given the power of the press that supports NRL in NSW and peer pressure that comes with that I’m not surprised.

It's exhausting being a football fan in 2022

Mick, a bit late with this comment. The indigenous people are gifted and natural athletes. They have proved their ability at the biggest test international sports (same Kerr and Cathy Freeman). Football Australia should be putting a lot more resources into indigenous football development.

At work. I agree, it would be less of an embarrassment if football was there. I am surprised that the Former commonwealth African countries have not pushed for its inclusion. Being cynical I would guess that the Australian officials are strong NRL and AFL types and would block any move in this respect.

Ernie’s at the wheel - but not as the 'distruptor'

Nothing in the Australian or other News Corp rags. This mob won’t be happy until they cremated and buried football in this country.

Let the A-League battle for Sydney begin

Mick, I respect your comments, but it’s hard to compare a world game with a parochial small sport like NRL which is really a big game in a small pond, in a global sense.

It's exhausting being a football fan in 2022

Really Mick, so if Mundine played football for Sydney FC you still wouldn’t go.

It's exhausting being a football fan in 2022

NRL is only a juggernaut in NSW and Queensland. In the the other states it hardly rates a mention.

Grem, no doubt about it Football should be a participant sport at the Commonwealth Games. The FFA have to start the ball rolling (no pun intended).

One way to improve our youth is more international competition. Why is there no football at the Commonwealth Games. We have Netball, Hockey even Rugby yet the most popular of sports is not included. It’s time for the FFA to start lobbying for its inclusion, because it should be there, even at U23 level.

Our youth development plan going well then.

Joeys crash and burn in Jakarta

Roberto, Cambodia really. But they don’t have 3 other codes picking the best before football gets a turn. When are we going to wake up. I also just noticed also that our under sixteens lost to Myanmar. This not a good portence for the future is it.

The Socceroos' next ‘golden generation’ may be a lot closer than you think

Grem, we are producing players for silver and bronze not gold medals. Producing gold medal players we all the attributes should be the bench mark.

The best place to spot future sporting star is at the local little athletics meeting. The drive, dedication of these kids are amazing. The is where the future star are for what ever football code has the plan to get them. When my girls were at little aths I did not see one football scout. Such a lost opportunity for our national teams. As I have said before if you are going to play against the worlds best you need to select your best. Rather than recruiting marquee players, I would like the money to go into large scholarships to lock in the future.

Worth noting that the English Women Team had a change of manager not that long ago. So good managers are out there and a change can be for the better. For the Matildas to continue with the parent guy without seeing who else is available is a mistake given the incumbents record.

The A-League finally has a fixture list fans can support

People need to understand that Tasmania does not have one half descent Rectangular stadium. AFL and cricket share the two big stadiums. One in Hobart and one on Launceston and they are now pushing for another one. A rectangular stadium could be shared with rugby. Heaven forbid we even get a Socceroos or Matildas game down not having facilities has consequences for Australian football. On another thread the under 16 Australian squad was announced and guess what no Tasmanians. The state government does the bare minimum for the sport and will not entertain a football stadium. A 10,000 seater with admin, media and catering facilities would be a great fillip young players and followers of the game. Equity Is one of the buzz words in today’s world, but not much equity when it comes to Tassie football.

How Tasmania can build four stadiums without breaking the bank

The money from Silver Lake should be used to attract juniors that have world class attributes. Offer large scholarships open to all athletes that locks in these potential stars before the AFL and NRL them. Two each for girls and boys. Repeat each year, there may be businesses out there happy to put in.

If you need star quality to attract fans, the new A-League season is off to a good start

Mooy is a gifted ball carrier and visionary but he is just a yard too slow for the big stage.

Where to next for Rogic and Mooy? Crucial decisions heading into the 2022 World Cup

Daddy people forget this it’s used in medicines, clothing and lots of other stuff. On renewable energy I heard the other day that Germany is dependant on gas to run their heavy industry because renewables don’t deliver enough grunt smelt steel production.

How should football protest Qatar 2022?

You cant sanction Quatar but do nothing about China. That is the height of hypocrisy. They bully the west, abuse human rights, deny their people free speech, detain and jail without due process. Personally I think they should kicked out of FIFA.

How should football protest Qatar 2022?

Make it rainbow coloured and people will be pouring through the gates.

Professional football can thrive only with strong community football support
