Cannot wait for this game, I am in the sunny coast so will definitely be heading down to Brissie to watch.

Why it's one step forward, but another one back in women's Origin evolution

No my sons academy is part of the Dolphins NRL teams pathways, as far as I know it has no connection to his school.
My point was if the Rebels paid their creditors (including the Academy) they would not have to fundraise, that was it. No more no less. MY OPINION is it is bad business to not pay your creditors.

The Wrap: Spare a thought for injured players as Super Rugby’s two rutting rhinos deliver an epic final preview

No problem with the Academy, my son is in an Academy at the moment with the Dolphins up here. My problem is with the Rebels not payong their creditors (like this academy) and basically getting away with it.

Agree Jane, playing it in such a huge Stadium was a bad look.

OPINION: It’s time Australia’s rugby public throws its weight behind the Wallaroos - because it will transform our game if we do

Maybe if the rebels actually paid their creditors than this academy would not need to conduct a fundraiser.

Would love to see our Super sides winning again, and if they have to merge with the NRL for that to happen. So be it.

Fantasy footy: How a Rugby Australia and NRL partnership could actually work

Yeah dissolving NRL.com because Fox asked him to was a great idea.

V'landys may as well be executive chair because he's doing both jobs but league needs to fix lack of female leadership

Great Job Mary, more women at the top I say.

I don’t think the League should expand next year either, but I am excited to see the team up here in QLD get better, I live in Rocky and there are now hundreds of talented girls playing League, a lot have come over from Union but others are taking it up young or at school. I think the talent is really going to increase.

NRLW Semi-finals: They cannot be serious - time to press pause on any expansion plans

I agree jane, this is playing out in the public and needs to be addressed publicly. I suspect they didn’t directly pay but it’s part of a contra/publicity deal with QANTAS. The fact it has been so poorly handled means they cannot come out and say it. But it makes them look bad, by saying nothing.

The Wrap: Why Rugby Australia’s women problem isn’t going away any time soon

Thank You for taking the time to write this article, the optics around this are just so bad and you are right it isn’t going away soon. RA have done an ok job of addressing and defecting this issue, however it will keep coming up.

Scrum – What did you acyually think of the Wallaroos statement? Did you agree? Or do You think it should just stay the way it is until the Wallaroos can become self sustaining?

RA's 'devastating, no substance' response to Wallaroos shows exactly why rugby is being left behind

It is ok, Mary wrote the article you wer too scared to.

RA's target of a third tier in 2024 raises a whole heap of questions in desperate need of answers

As am I Mary.

Great Article Mary.

I thought Brett would have the guts to weigh in about this but I guess the Roar do not want to Ruffle any feathers, i hope Mary K puts something out. She doesn’t seem worried about upsetting the boys club.

You are missing the central point, it is that the athletes feel lied to by Rugby Australia, they say there is no money to pay acoach yet they find money to pay Ryles and Hanson. They say they are broke yet find 5MILLION dollars to pay an untested League player. Lookl at the FIFA world cup, women can be superstars if given the right support and marketing, the money is there they just need to spend it.

'Taking steps': RA responds to Wallaroos' social media anger over WAGs and funding gap

Maybe don’t speak for service people then 1997 Brumbies. I went down to Sydney with my whole unit and enjoyed the free tickets to the game, it was great. The people in the crowd were very respectful and it was a good time and a nice way to finish what can be a tricky day for many of us.

Would an Anzac Day, winner-take-all Bledisloe Cup match work?

Brumbies is clearly from Canberra Jack, you should be used to them telling us what we think.

“Super Rugby has always been subservient to the All Blacks and Wallabies; a situation that doesn’t look like changing any time soon”

And That is why we see so many empty seats at Super Rugby in Australia

The Wrap: Rebels critics should know better, thrills and spills in Fiji, and string of close finishes leads to ladder logjam

Hopefully some of theses International players can come to the NRLW.

Ada and Canada show peace can exist between the rugby codes

I base ths assessment on the fact that their are no Indigenous players in the national side, and also the fact that they refuse to professionalise the wallaroos program.

The Wrap: Essendon and Manly debacles an opportune reminder for rugby to focus on its core values

Rugby is inclusive, as long as you are a well educate wealthy male of non indigenous descent, the rest of us will just be priveledged to fight for the scraps.

I think you’ll actually find the viewership in the women’s game is up while it is down in the men’s, so your point is moot
And like Jane stated you only have to look at the parade in Newcastle this week to see the potential in women’s sport in Aus

What can we reasonably expect of the Wallaroos at the Rugby World Cup?

Yeah i do see a cycle Andy, ignore female viewers and athletes, lose female viewers and athletes and therefore lose market share and revenue. The game continued to invest in the elite mens comp and ended up in debt. Invest in girls and see the sport flourish.
