Yep, impressive, but apart from the scrumaging problem what were a few of Lonergan’s big lobby kicks about? I thought the word was you don’t kick to NZ back threes. It was obviously a plan to keep them back in their own half, but the Canes thought it was terrific, kept giving them opportunities.

Brumbies knock over Hurricanes in statement win as Wright shines again behind forward pack

Keep your mits off.

'Want to show rugby isn't dead in Melbourne': Rebels skipper's fighting words as Eddie calls for 'hard decisions'

I’m sorry that this is going to offend so many, but how many Aus Super Rugby titles have the Brumbies won in the last 10 years? How many Brumbies were in the team, or the squad? How many coaches in the box? The thing about teams that win every year, well, they tend to win. It’s attitudinal. Harsh, I know, but Ikitau, Samu, Simone, Loleiso, Muirhead, Wright, even Toole, Debreczeni, Faingaa, the Lonergans and Tua, all the way to, of course, Laurie Fisher. And it sure doesn’t look like Larks is coaching the backs.
Come on Eddie, it aint that hard.

'Complete dismantling': Eddie apologises for World Cup debacle, Hoops calls out moment that summed it up

And there’s another Lonergen going around who can play, tends to be in the right spot at the right time, can throw the lineout ball in, and is quick. Good late in the game.

The 23 Wallabies to win a RWC quarterfinal - and the 10 others who should be in Eddie Jones' squad

Noah Lolesio? Lots of points in his boot and I recall him setting up some good moves. Maybe his defence needs some work though. Doubts about TT going the distance.

Good question. Hard to find a better loosie in Aust in my opinion. He just pops up, right place, right time.

'Butch defence, Larkham glide': What Eddie sees in Test rookie as Wallabies make SEVEN changes

I recall Joe Roff sinking the Lions in the third test in 2001.

Eales, Ella, Gregan: My favourite Wallabies side

Please, please no more JOC. He broke that game on Saturday.

Wallabies lock answers SOS to fill injury-plagued squad

Yeah yeah, blah blah, refs and the Brums. Again and again. What is the matter? Come on fellas, tell me, what is it? Apart from the fact that that was contemptible, O’Keefe.

REACTION: 'Too many mistakes'- Brumbies rue near miss as Blues squeak through in the wet

Crusaders defence will need to be up to it. When the Blues get on a roll… but will they have the TMO on side?

REACTION: 'Too many mistakes'- Brumbies rue near miss as Blues squeak through in the wet

F..k off, a penalty is a penalty.

REACTION: 'Too many mistakes'- Brumbies rue near miss as Blues squeak through in the wet

Yeah, he was terrific.

Mmm, so do I.

Sterlo always said – unless it’s five minutes to go and you need a try, take the goal, take the points.

Blind man.

REACTION: Perfect prep for England? 'Test match intensity' sees Brumbies pip Reds in classic as prop stakes Wallabies claim

And then there’s Fardy and Pocock. And Joe Timani, who just kept on scoring tries until Cheika kicked him. Hooper was “good” back then; Pocock was world player of the year. Hooper needed a couple of years; Pocock didn’t.

'Learn the learnings': Three lessons the Wallabies must take from 2021

Banks for mine, and given half a sniff he scores. Hodge is great when in space, big and fast, but Banks is not small or slow and creates space

'Learn the learnings': Three lessons the Wallabies must take from 2021

It will be hard for him to repeat that next match, but maybe he’s matured enough to not stuff things up. I like White to start. He just has better vision and more options. Pete Samu looks good too, but then so are Swinton and Valentini. Samu is impressive in attack and Swinton’s defence is scary ( 😡 ), so maybe the way Rennie is using them is about right.

VOTE: Wallabies player ratings from first Test vs South Africa

I think the Wallies left a few points on the field too. Not from the boot of course, but don’t they love to bomb a try.

'A grovelling apology from me': World reaction to Quade brilliance and 'one dimensional' Boks

No, he’s right, it sucks. Our blunders making them look good, just so many brain explosions on display … it’s depressing, sucks. What the hell were those long passes about? Blind Freddy could see it. Our forwards pouring into the rucks and busting themselves when Smith had the ball in front of him and was looking which way to go. What a waste. And that lineout throw – drop him. Faiinga can throw. The up-and-bloody-under within the 22 … what can you say? Why do they have to be bloody brilliant and in the next breath so confoundingly dumb. //
Sterlo once said: you get a penalty, and unless there’s five minutes to go and you’re desperate, take the points, i.e. kick the goal. //
I missed the last 30 minutes; mercifully had to go and pick up dinner. But from what I saw Tate was terrific, big Rob Valentini too – he’s really growing into something. To’omua … no, not this year. Alaalatoa and Slipper were great … Tupou, god I hate that look he gets when he knows he’s got it wrong. The wingers are brilliant. Swinton … meh. //
Anyway, onward and only upward methinks. //
But at the moment, yep, it sucks. //Oh, and the ABs were bloody terrific.

MATCH REPORT: Rennie's Wallabies sent out to go big or die trying - it was the latter

And that penalty on half way just after half time, in that wind … ridiculous. He’d been pretty bad up until then; give him one he at least has a chance with. And in a swirling wind wouldn’t Hodge’s big boot have a better chance?

'Couldn't kick to save myself': Lolesio vows to improve after off night

Err … we won.

'Absolutely mystifying': Selection mistakes that almost cost Australia
