It’s a risk worth taking. Convince him to stay and they have a potential superstar. If he lives up to his potential and wants to go home after 1 year (ala JHF) he will be worth at least 2 FRDP’s in a stronger draft. Either way it’s a win.

Or the one where Baz did it when keeping for NZ. This happens regularly in all forms of the game but ALERT batters usually recover their ground and it goes largely unnoticed.

Think you’ll find his stats are better than those of Tom Hawkins at the same age and we all know how good a player he become

All signs point to Ross Lyon's Saints going 5-0

Clubs have been taking advantage of NGA rules since it’s inception. Why is this any different?

It’s not a simple matter of time taken by the batter. According to Stoinis the field was still moving. Surely he is entitled to see where the field is finally placed before taking position. Even cameras could not determine that unless they had the entire field covered. Finally this rule is akin to the Mankad. No self respecting bowler would want to take a wicket that way and no self respecting captain would appeal for it. If the umpires feel that is deliberate time wasting let them call it.

Really!! Only 2 batters scored more than 38 with some of the best test batters in the world playing.

Why two-day Tests like Proteas rout could become more common as batting skills drop off in T20 era

That was an outlier. The pitch, for want of a better description, was at it’s best on day 1 when the only scores above 38 were made.

Of course he does. According to Lyon, if it seams it spin, and he’s not about to say anything that will diminish the victory.

These are the 2 best test teams in world cricket. You don’t get there if you have a sub par batting lineup and you don’t get there if your batting lineup has poor techniques.

Not sure how valuable that will be. First he has to get his feet under the desk and work out what he needs to prioritise and the trade period has already started.

Not sure you can blame Ned Guy solely. I would’ve thought contracts of this magnitude would require board approval but then again this was Collingwood in the Eddie era.

It’s a specific topic because it came out of a club sanctioned study and report into a specific topic. ie The experiences of First Nations players at the football club.

Not why not, why. He was reinstated after the supplements saga then sacked for poor team performances. Why would any club appoint a coach that they had previously sacked?

If it “seems to have been made” then it is the wrong decision as conclusive evidence is a prerequisite for overturning a decision.

'Get it better or get rid of it': Hardwick slams AFL's goal review system

Not necessarily. Players don’t always get it right. How often do we see players celebrate a goal and then look dumbfounded when it is shown to be a point. The camera angle could not possibly prove a definitive answer. The best view was by the goal umpire who deemed it to be a goal and that decision should have stood. BTW I have no dog in this fight.

'Get it better or get rid of it': Hardwick slams AFL's goal review system

Judd only won 1 Brownlow at Carlton, the other was with the Eagles so in terms of trade +/- they cancel each other out.

Six Points: Eddie Betts' powerful point gets lost in camp fiasco, and Cripps must get two weeks

I don’t count rushed behinds as shots at goal as they are generally the result of poor F50 entries. Ignore those and the score line is 14.8 v 10.13 – not great but not disastrous either. Both sides missed gettable shots but the blues took more shots from difficult angles sometimes using high risk kicks. The saints took most of their shots from the corridor and probably a little closer to goal, again pointing to the quality of F50 entries. The scoreboard was just symptomatic of a different problem on the night.

If you look hard enough you can always find something that will support a narrative, even an incorrect one. Interesting that you had to go 4 seasons to find one

The Fremantle bubble has burst, and they could be in freefall

Geelong are probably not the best example to use. Teams who consistently play finals generally get the ultimate success or are competitive at least. Geelong are the architects of their own finals failures. By constantly topping up with aging players they remain relevant during the H&A but get found out when the game goes up a level in finals as evidenced by their blowout losses. Compare that to the Geelong teams 2007-12 where their premierships were won on the back of drafting which has largely been ignored in the past decade
