I think you’re referring to the Big Marn Brohman, Shane Webke body types?

They are definitely no longer needed in League as every forward is just a Sonny Bill style body. Obviously someone realised that they don’t need to push in the scrum anymore which led to an evolution of sorts.

I think the last one was Rose at Manly? Can’t remember.

It would make sense for Aus rugby to go and talk to junior League teams about who is great but possibly won’t make the NRL. The Burleigh Bears have enough depth to cover 5 teams.

But Aus rugby, based on recent signings, are focused on talent from a small set of schools in Sydney.

As to where the big lug body types of league disappear to? My guess is the pub.

Super Rugby shows that the Bledisloe Cup isn't going anywhere - one selection could give the Wallabies hope

How’s Scotty Sio going for Exeter? We could do with some depth in his position.
If the wallabies want to match with size/mongrel then I’m sure a mix of Sio, Brendan Paenga-Amosa, Toupo, Rodda, Ryan Smith, Valetini, Liam Wright and Rory Scott would go ok.
But I think Schmidt isn’t such a literal operator. He’ll make whatever decisions he thinks he needs to have a winning team.

Not much of an anomaly if you live on the Gold Coast.

Hopefully Cron and Fischer see a pack out there that can do the job.

Looking forward to jumping on NZ Herald later to see if any Saffas have written an article titled “The All Blacks will need to instill their hardness with discipline if they are going to be contenders” ????

Fans are emotional and contradictory when the shoe is on the other foot. Some can admit it, some go to the opposition websites to double down all the time.

Keeping Rennie would have been the correct choice. The Randwick saviour is a myth.

I’d say me writing 3000 less words than you in reply to your latest meltdown is me letting go. Feel free to stop replying to my comment which you didn’t need to in the first place.

Captain getting a red card in a final that you lose is a disaster. Thanks for the extra paragraphs. It’s been entertaining how much pointing out that disaster led to a melt down from you.

I’d like to believe there’ll be no more quick fixes but if a kiwi coach isn’t getting the results on a two year contract with a home world cup looming, will they stick?

Regardless of the win percentage, Rennie was losing by one or two points to Ireland and France with an injury decimated line up and a pretty similar board went for the sugar hit. Unfortunately the sugar hit they got was a butter menthol that rolled under the couch ten years ago named Eddie.

If Cheika comes back and does well with the Tahs will they be able to control themselves?

A lot of the appointments look like great decisions but won’t mean much if the results are bad.

Will the Zebras change their stripes. Shame they couldn’t change all of the Zebras.

Rugby Australia announce $9.2m deficit, board member fails to be re-elected but coup falls over

Never used the word campaign. I reference calls made in the final as the disaster. And thus everything else after that is more examples of kiwi manipulation of semantics. Nice try champ. Why don’t you go be the self appointed opinion that counts on Stuff NZ. At least the patting on the back and hypocritical melt downs are synchronized on there. There’ll be no threat of entering cognitive dissonance when presented with the inconsistent ways kiwis respond to things on here.

Kiwi’s don’t like things that make sense. They like things that can be interpreted to their advantage and have a big ol’ 6 month tear fest when it doesn’t fall their way.

Woolies is out of vinegar since the post world cup final tears of the hypocritical kiwi sooks. Tough to supply 6 months worth of vinegar without fair warning.

The context of the world cup disaster was clearly referenced around illegal head contact and risky tackles and you decided to get emotional and extend it to the entire world cup and the wallabies campaign. That is clear.

Yes, you are like an English cricket fan crying foul every time something doesn’t go your way and celebrating when it does.

Yes, you have no humility as you won’t admit that my disaster comment was clearly referencing an incident in the world cup final but you decided it was a dig and needed to get emotional and pay back.

Yes, fans like you and many kiwis like to change your opinion on the Frameworks when it pleases.

Yes, you got wounded about me calling the Sam Cane incident a disaster and you decided to try and get at me and call the wallabies campaign a disaster.

You came on to say that the real disaster was the wallabies world cup because my comment wounded your love of the all blacks and you needed to have a dig. I’m sure if I asked Sam Cane how his world cup final was I’m sure he’d say something close to if not the word “disaster”. You’re always good with the you said/I said semantics AgainAgain but behind what people say are motivations and I have spelled out clearly what your motivations are. So feel free to undermine them as a rant but the consistency with the hypocrisy is clear. Good luck

Comments don’t offend me. The child like hypocrisy and repetition bores me.

My comments aren’t hard to comprehend if humility and desire for self awareness were in the mix.

Can’t comment anymore. I’m off to Stuff NZ to talk about the Aussies test cricket record because that’s a cool hobby.

The Wrap: Rebels young gun rockets out of Wallabies contention, and why Samipeni Finau's 'brutal' hit on Edmed was fair game

This perception game kiwis love playing, do you truly believe people swallow it or is the echo chamber of the little village too loud to hear anything outside of it?

Sweep the sheds, gift jerseys at the Hakka, be polite and call the ref “sir” and then put on hits off the ball and act like a victim.

Constantly mock people that bring up the reffing during super rugby season and then have a 6 month melt down about the ref in the world cup final.

And now the all blacks are underdogs due to the rankings.

Just goes to show that kiwi rugby fans are the English cricket fans of rugby. Creating accounts on other sites just to let everyone know it’s their opinion that counts no matter how hypocritical and contradictory they are.

You lot wanted the framework changed after the world cup final just like the English wanted an extra day if it rains in a cricket test match.

I always love coming on here to have a balanced chat with other Aussie rugby fans about how bad the sport is going here and how far behind the eight ball we are. The only issue is the strain I get from rolling my eyes at a kiwi coming to remind us like it’s the only thing that keeps his self-esteem going.

The Wrap: Rebels young gun rockets out of Wallabies contention, and why Samipeni Finau's 'brutal' hit on Edmed was fair game

I’d say the captain getting a red card in the final is a disaster. But draw in any comparison you need to help you sleep at night.

Against the odds? One tough pool match. How did the underdogs the All Blacks do it?

The Wrap: Rebels young gun rockets out of Wallabies contention, and why Samipeni Finau's 'brutal' hit on Edmed was fair game

People love the dangerous tackle framework as much as they hate it depending on whether their team get the advantage.

Outside of frameworks is technique. The technique to stay upright, lead and launch with the shoulder is a shoulder charge. There is no effort from Finau to set low and drive with the legs. But his custard arms fly up after the contact so it’s a “wrap”.

The same slow motion merchants on twitter where the ones slowing down the Sam Cane tackle in the world cup final to somehow claim he’d been hard done by.

So people are communicating at cross purposes on this point. There’s the I’m a big tough guy with monster truck posters on my wall rugby fan that liked the big hit that my team put on but don’t like it when the laws hurt my team and then there’s the people who look at safety and can’t be gaslit into being told that Finau is doing anything other than a blind shoulder charge in attempt to hurt a player.

A lot of people talk about just putting a hit on their players as revenge. I prefer it if they let him keep doing it and it keep being celebrated. It builds the entitlement to get away with it that led to the world cup disaster. The victim mentality that came out of that very obvious correct calls shows just how much the “I want the laws to only give my team an advantage” fans are willing to jump sides on the topic of frameworks very easily.

So, is it legal or is it safe is not the question people are asking across the ditch. They are asking “did the call benefit my team or not”.

The blues scrumhalf then fed every scrum on the side the ref wasn’t standing for the rest of the game. Shame Doleman didn’t have the same tenacity to check the feed by moving himself to the other side. Oh that’s right, the touchy is there. They are so vocal at scrum time.

Ken, if you watch Sulis storm highlights on YouTube you’ll see his pace and ability to gather high balls are his main two valuable skills in league. Currently he doesn’t have pace and he is not collecting high balls like a genius. His hamstring is heavily strapped in these highlights too. I think his pace has gone or at least the mental part of it. Ryan and Lancaster show what wingers aus rugby are waiting for a crack and pretenders shouldn’t stand in their way.

I clocked that after watching his post match interviews. Tall fella. Great run on debut.

'Heartbreaking': Blues sink Reds with post-siren try after rising star scores epic hat-trick

If they’ve given up on trying to make him a rugby player why is he on the field every week? The coaches aren’t going to root you, soap.

'Heartbreaking': Blues sink Reds with post-siren try after rising star scores epic hat-trick

Seems like a regrettable contract is having a say in his career path and coaches are given new headaches with him every week. 👍

'Heartbreaking': Blues sink Reds with post-siren try after rising star scores epic hat-trick

Grealy and Ryan would be small wingers but there’s no point having a big winger that can’t defend due to both poor effort and being out of position.

'Heartbreaking': Blues sink Reds with post-siren try after rising star scores epic hat-trick

Wins would be nice but beating the chiefs and pushing the blues and canes is more than what I expected from a young and injury ridden team this year. I hope they keep getting better under kiss.

Hopefully they can have a full squad come finals and pull off an upset if they make it.

I think reds fans have suffered enough of Suli. I reckon if I put up a GoFundMe to pay out his contract we’d reach the goal in two minutes.

Others didn’t score a try and pilfer, he did. He also won scrum penalties – the main job of a prop.

Hopefully someone will get a message to Taniela that when he signs contracts and accept money he should predict if he’s going to have severe injuries that will impact his mobility and fitness level. Because apparently his mobility issues are a personal choice from an “overweight overpaid bum” and not the result of injury.
