Read quite a number of similar team selection articles most with only 3-4 different choices, but Harry here is the first pundit I’ve seen that has included Bell. Well deserved.

World Cup team of the pool stage: Irish domination, minnows surprise, one Wallaby makes the cut

Saddest thing is we could have picked a team that would have cleared the group stages no matter the coach. Samu, Hooper, Ikitau, Cooper, Sio…not a World Cup winning team but would not have been beaten by over 30 points by Wales who played their unsurprising structured game.

'Bloody disappointed: Wallabies OUT of World Cup as nation to miss finals for first time, Eddie fights for survival

Love the Wallabies, think these guys are amazing with what they do BUT after watching all tests under Eddie this year including attending the Melbourne Bledisloe, the entire conversations regarding selections now are useless. I have no faith in the game plan, selection, leadership, skill levels, rugby intelligence, or sheer bloody commitment in this team that could possibly in any way beat a dour but structured Wales team by more than 7 points and also have the threat in attack to score 4 tries.
Fat lady may not have sung yet but a Choir full of Boyo’s are warming up.

Wallabies young gun's RWC over ahead of do-or-die Test, intrigue over replacement as Ikitau returns for BaaBaas

The weakness in the midfield is being exposed by our injuries and lack of international quality depth in the front row, at 6, 7 and now a power lock.

I’d disagree a little with your Valentini assessment while also agreeing that Wilson should have been there in the first place, probably in Gleeson’s spot. Valentini often bends the line, us one of our few that can choose a good line in traffic, and proves a handful for opposition defences. Breakdown work could improve and I reckon he’s had to carry a lot of the heavier work of late meaning his performance is affected somewhat. Wilson would be the perfect 1-2 punch in the eight man role.

Absolutely correct. If any contenders actually thought the Wallabies might be a serious threat this strategy, and misuse of a respected tradition, would have been far more scrutinised.

Our problems (from last test anyway) are 3, 4, 6, 7, 16, 17, 18, 20. If we can’t secure a fukn breakdown….

Incredible really. The intensity and speed at the breakdown, the big runners targeting the 10 channel, and the attack at width were all highlighted by pundits here at the Roar yet Eddie and the Wallabies showed little, actually nothing but a bit of shooting out of the defensive line to counter any of it.

The Wrap: Group C fast becoming everyone’s favourite - except for the Wallabies as early flight home looms large

Pity his pass is crap.

WALLABIES TEAM: Rennie makes ten changes, including a surprise at 15, leaves kryptonite on the bench

Wilson is a fine player but I’d argue that within this back row Samu has greater offloading, hole running, and general attacking skills than the reds eight man.

WALLABIES TEAM: Trio return for first TRC action, Philip missing and Tupou still sidelined

Something I’ve always wanted to ask a tall Welshman….men in bikinis? Yes…No?

Battle of the blindside enforcers: Why the power lies in Canberra

Ha! Best summary of the young mans work to date. Think he’ll be a good/great wallaby when he ages a bit (was going to say hardens a bit but f..k he must be hard to play at his level).

Battle of the blindside enforcers: Why the power lies in Canberra

Great comment. Struggling Waratahs fan here who has a real respect for the Brumbies. Played in the ACT 1988-1990. They still punch hard above their weight!

Battle of the blindside enforcers: Why the power lies in Canberra

Crusaders just because, Reds just because they now believe, Blues just because of their brute forwards, and Brumbies just because the Waratahs are very shite (new shoots yet shite).

Tipping panel Week 2: G’day and Kia Ora

James internationally really the pairing that held up for the Wallabies was Philip and Simmons. Best combined pairing I’ve seen since Horwill and Simmons. Individually Arnold (especially) or Rodda or even Coleman have certainly delivered and the Arnold/Rodda pairing had big potential. But actually delivering a sound stable and yes strong set piece and decent defence our main pairing last year were actually on song I reckon.

Hosanna for Hosea: Is Trevor the second coming of John Eales?

Echoing your comments on the seriousness of the issue but Mr Chook any reference to TISM shouldn’t go unnoticed!

Ireland captain Sexton upset by doctor's comments

Ok boys. I’ve seen this young man drive into rucks against the all blacks and I’m pretty sure neither of you have had the pleasure and pain of that.
I’m enjoying he’s growth, his increased physicality, and his determination to prove, well I hope, his ability to worthless judgemental pricks like yourselves.
I’m not his mum just a bloke that highest rugby honours was playing ‘international rugby’ against the Solomon Islands old boys. This guy is improving and needs a break.
And the wallabies need capable options at 5, 4 and 6.

Waratahs ready for Super abrasive Rebels

Love the reference Rob. I worked at the Metro Theatre in Sydney through the 90’s and watched You Am I go from pub band to 6 night sell outs in front of 1200 punters each night.
If Maddocks struts his stuff anywhere near as well as Tim did he’ll be a star!

Australia’s other forgotten man stands up at Suncorp

WM that is the simplest and best solution this swinging junk has read in the past five years. Well done sir!

South Africa could emerge as the real winners in a Super Rugby exodus

All this talk about junk and you’ve got my attention.
6 weeks max, stupid move which may have been intentional provocation, no real attempt at injury to the junk, and you’ve got to admit that even for an ugly bugger the look on Marler’s face while going the stroke was priceless.
The look on Jones’ wasn’t bad either ????.

Marler cited for squirrel grip on Jones

I had the same Paul but backed out of the Blues after reading the panels picks. I need some of my namesakes balls!
