I’m just going to point something out here.
New Zealand is bleeding depth at an alarming rate. Not only are we ceding bigger names than ever to Japan for seasons at a time, were allowing players like Charlie Gamble (MOTM) to just flounder about. He came to Aus and was given a crack and now he looks set to play for the Wallabies next year.
Don’t the All Blacks have a problem at 6 ?? Where was the push to keep this obviously talented player in Christchurch ? Why were Christie and Grace preferred over this guy? It all seems a bit shady.

REACTION: 'They wanted it more'- Tremendous Tahs hold off Crusaders for famous win

Here’s mine. Picked on form, without incumbency in mind though. As you can see , no place for Sam Cane, regardless of wether or not he was supposed to be captain. This is a form team. Was hard to leave out Lachlan Boshier. And plenty of others.

1. Joe Moody
2. Codie Taylor (c)
3. Ofa Tu’ungafasi
4. Patrick Tuipulotu
5. Sam Whitelock
6. Shannon Frizell
7. Ardie Savea
8. Hoskins Sotutu
9. Aaron Smith
10. Richie Mo’unga
11. Caleb Clarke
12. Jack Goodhue
13. Rieko Ioane
14. Will Jordan
15. Jordie Barrett
16. Dane Coles
17. Karl Tuinukuafe
18. Nepo Laulala
19. Pari Pari Parkinson
20. Dalton Papalii
21. TJ Perenara
22. Beauden Barrett
23. Anton Lienert-Brown

How will the All Blacks XV look in 2020?

Super Rugby Week 9: The ultimate pen round

That’s just my honest opinion bro, maybe I’m biased being a Kiwi and seeing our blessing of depth.

And also, I would like to add. I actually like him as a player. And as a human being. But I just don’t think he’s anywhere near as good as everybody else makes out.

Michael Hooper's starting Wallabies spot is at risk

Great read Jarrod.

I’m going to ruffle some feathers and air out an unpopular opinion I have on this thread.

Michael Hooper has, in the past, been Australia’s “answer” to their dilemma at 7. He’s been an automatic selection since 2014, for much of that time it has been on his merit as a player, and on his day he has been the best of the bunch, except for when he hasn’t. . Although a great player, his leadership style has, will continue to remain, under scrutiny for an abundance of reasons, but no more than that as a player, he has constantly lived in the shadow of the great man and leader David Pocock. Cheika tried to play DP out of position for years to allow his favourite son to have his favourite spot. And we all know how it turned out. With Hooper at 7, and as Captain, Australian Rugby has folded into obscurity. They brand that they’ve played is inconsistent and at times horrible.

There needs to be a change. In my opinion, a player and a leader such as Hooper, for all of what he brings to the table, may have become more accustomed to being on the losing end. And that is NOT the mentality that Australian Rugby needs.

Which brings me to my next point.

Hooper played okay last night, but he was horribly outclassed when it mattered. That penalty with the game on the line was the game sealer. He’s under pressure from some of the young guys coming through and it’s obvious he feels it. I didn’t see him drag the Waratahs back into the game, I saw their youth do that. And that’s what your “leaders” and most experienced are supposed to do.

In closing, I would say that Hooper, depending on how others will play, will be chasing the pack this year to even try and make the 23. He’s going to have to lift his game if he wants that Rennie co-sign. For me, he’s not doing enough to warrant selection, let alone “automatic” selection.

Sotutu isn’t out ??

Super Rugby Aotearoa Round 2: How about them penalties?

I could go on about him for hours 😂 😂 😂

Super Rugby Round 7: go ahead Blues, make my day

And if they win, we’ll really all start coming to terms with the fact that this season is “different”

Super Rugby Round 7: go ahead Blues, make my day

Yeah I’ll tip them 😂 😂 😂

Super Rugby Round 7: go ahead Blues, make my day

Patty being away is probably my biggest concern, if not for his leadership then for his immense physical presence .Thank bloody god we’re not starting Pupu at 9 he needs to be playing for Blues A, sooner that Finlay Christie is fit and firing he’ll be on the out altogether

Super Rugby Round 7: go ahead Blues, make my day

I’m not shy in saying he’s IMO the answer to the All Blacks problems at 6. He’s big, can cover Lock(!) , got a huge engine , makes his tackles ( as well as his positioning on D ), and has a hint of pace about him for such a huge man. . In terms of pecking order he’s probably only shaded out Of contention by Lachlan Boshier at this point who’s having a blinder this far. . You can throw Tony Lamborn in that hat too! I’ve been really impressed with his enthusiasm. We’ve got a real monopoly on loose forward depth right now, exciting guys coming through the system like Waimana Reidlinger Kapa and son of the Legend Nico Jones too.
Exciting times after years of heartbreak 😁

Super Rugby Round 7: go ahead Blues, make my day

You’ve all tipped the blues to lose the last few weeks and they’ve won. What’s the bet they’re going to lose this week on the one time they’re unanimously voted to win 😂 😂 😂 . . .

Maybe it’s our ruthless inconsistency that’s plaguing my judgment , maybe the Lions are due to break their own shocking win record at Eden Park, but I’ve got an ill feeling about this.

Would love to be proven wrong.

Leadership will not be lacking as TJ Faiane is a fine stand in, I would love to see Emoni Narawa be trusted with at least half an hour on the park, electric form when given the chance to operate. Big Red will be sorely missed

Super Rugby Round 7: go ahead Blues, make my day

Oh jeepers it’s going to be a long traverse home for the losing side ???????? too much pride on the line with this one.

Super Rugby: Five talking points from Round 5

How do you see the battle between the Blues and Canes forwards shape up ?

Super Rugby Round 6: Wollongong is beautiful this time of year

Same as last week. Nobody giving the Blues a shot. Hurricanes with a powerful back line as usual but let us see if they can acquire and maintain front foot ball against one of the best forward packs in the country.

Blues by 12

Super Rugby Round 6: Wollongong is beautiful this time of year

That’s okay Mr Taylor. We’ve got a while to go before we’re a constant mention. 17 years of letting people down didn’t do us much grace.

Super Rugby: Five talking points from Round 5

Yeah I’m still pinching myself and thinking it’s a dream. Been a very long time between those sorts of victories. .

Even some Polynesians I’ve come into contact with seem to have that sort of view, I think they’ve got a wide array of good Polynesian to non Polynesian players this year, Eklund, Robinson , Lamborn , Pierce and Carroll aswell as Duffie have been exceptional over the last 2 games, and we’ve still Got Beauden Barrett and Finlay Christie to come off injury. . I think we’ve found the right Polynesian players to take us forward and that’s the difference. I hope that’s a good enough “ratio” for the racists out there . It’s discrimination at its finest and very sad to still see it commented on

Super Rugby: Five talking points from Round 5

No mention of the Blues victory over the top of the table Stormers though ????

Super Rugby: Five talking points from Round 5

As a struggling Blues fan for what seems like an eternity, I would love to disagree with you. But my battle worn brain, as per, tells me that you’re probably right Pinetree. .

Regardless though I’m going to drench my poor teams coming season in positivity because that’s all we have left here ????????.

We’ve managed to snag BBBB to run the show post April, but it’s not (only) that I’m excited about. Stephen Perofeta is finally fit again and looks like he’s ready to fill the big boots he’s been thrown for a minute now, Finlay Christie is probably the most decent 9 we’ve had in awhile . Surely a better decision maker than Pulu, Ruru and Nock. Our backline has always been dangerous and this year looks to be the goods again , but above all else we have a quality set of forwards that should provide Enough ascendancy to put those backs into proper space. .

Bold prediction. But I say blues second, if not , top of the conference.
