NEYMAR HAIR WATCH. It seems to be shrinking. It’s almost a short back and sides.

KICK OFF. The second half begins. Will it be Brazil or Serbia’s last in this tournament?

The first half of the Swiss game has ended at 1-0, so as it stands Brazil and Switzerland would go through in that order.
After the Group F wrap-up this morning, the top of this group will play Mexico in the round of 16 and second place will take on – and it’s almost unbelievable to type this – Sweden.

Brazil has had 61% of the ball, and the chemistry between Coutinho and Neymar has been at peak levels so far. Felipe Luiz has been effective behind them after coming on to replace the injured Marcelo.
Jesus has been played in a number of times and could have snatched a couple of goals.
Despite the scorecard and stats, Serbia has also shown the some potential. Kostic has had some great moments out on the left and Mitrovic is offering a big target both in the link play and for balls into the box.
The Ljalic experiment hasn’t quite work – he can’t seem to find any space around Casemiro. If they can’t equalise quickly they may push Ljalic to play off Mitrovic, as they will look to play increasingly more direct.

And that’s HALF TIME
Brazil have owned the ball for long periods in this one and are good for the lead, although Serbia have created some decent chances of their own. Coutinho is putting in an inspired shift.

47′ – Another CHANCE for Brazil late in the half. A barnstorming run from Paulinho creates a chance on a severe angle which is easily saved.

46′ – A very ambitious CHANCE for Neymar that sails just wide of the junction of crossbar and upright. From very wide on the left he cuts back for the curling effort.

There’ll be 2 additional minutes here

44′ – Milinkovic-Savic walks the ball 25 yards after a stretch of continuous turnovers from both teams. He is definitely a class above and worthy of the big offers supposedly coming at him from across Europe

With a goal to Switzerland in the other game, Brazil will need to hold there nerve – and lead – in this one.
Serbia are opening the game up to go for an equaliser, and have had some good moments of possession in the last couple of minutes

41′ – ANOTHER CORNER to Serbia, and Kostic is really their go-to-man on the left. This one is a little short and Brazil clear.

40′ – CORNER to Serbia. A good cross in to Mitrovic is squeezed out and over the line by Brazil. Again it’s hit slightly too close to Alisson who fists this one away with more confidence.
The play ends with Tadic slicing it miles over the bar

38′ – Coutinho is wearing velcro boots tonight. He dances with the ball at his feet through a sea of Serbian midfielders and is hacked down for a foul. That won’t be the last time we see that tonight

36′ – GOAL TO BRAZIL! Paulinho gets on the end of it!
It did look on the cards. Coutinho with an extraordinary ball over the top to the Paulinho marauding through the Serbian midfield. He wasn’t checked and calmly nudges it past the keeper.

34′ – SHOT WIDE and over the bar from Mitrovic. Some excellent approach play from Serbia. Kostic released on the left who drills it to Tadic who finds Mitrovic who is off balance when he tries an overhead kick. It wasn’t elegant and didn’t trouble Alisson.

32′ – Well, an acrobatic effort from Neymar draws attention to a foul from Ljalic that ultimately draws a YELLOW CARD out wide.

31′ – Man mountain Mitrovic puts his head down inviting a high boot off a ball played to him to distribute. The ensuring freekick is floated toward goal but cleared with ease

29′ – BLOCKED. A great chance by Jesus – how was he onside? A dink over the top releases Jesus who is through on goal but his check back shot is blocked by a Serbian defender.
He should have converted that, and possibly taken it earlier on his left.

Brazil enjoying a period of possession – although when they play back into their own third the Serbian press is triggered… and so far it has worried Brazil

Much like his namesake, Jesus has returned.

Jesus is hobbling now. He got swarmed by Serbian defenders in that last attack and may have copped an errant boot.

25′ – SAVED! Neymar’s wriggling shot is blocked on the line by Stojkovic!
Force of will lead Neymar through the Serbian defensive line, before a through ball to Jesus and a deflected cut-back to Neymar opened him up.
It might have been angling wide but it was an important save to make.
Neymar looks on tonight
Serbia vs Brazil: 2018 FIFA World Cup highlights, scores, blog
The Serbian midfield is not allowing any space for Coutinho and Neymar to operate in. They’re extremely compact, and Brazil may need to look to the wide space to penetrate this Serbian team
Serbia vs Brazil: 2018 FIFA World Cup highlights, scores, blog
21′ – A CORNER for Serbia. Mitrovic plays Kostic in with a brilliant reverse pass and Kostic wins the corner. The corner is well hit and Alisson was nearly caught in no mans land before getting a flailing fist on it to clear

An extra goal in the Swiss game would make things interesting. That would put them above Brazil on total goals if this game ends 1-0
