I think people are confusing the performance with the health protocols.
Yes the eagles game was not flash
But the Essendon drug saga and Willie Rioli don’t leave much leeway.

When the stadium was first talked about half the state where against half were for
Yes usual arguments ( hospitals ,homeless and the rest )
It’s been turned into an entertainment stadium now
Concerts one off ( rugby both codes ,one off football games )
But it’s underpinned financially by afl and cricket
Without all of the above they don’t get built
Added bonus for Optus on a peninsula so noise for concerts allows a lot of leeway
I love sport and on tv these days reality yuuch
At the end of the day a rectangular stadium outside of nsw and Queensland can’t pull in all sports to justify the big spends needed for these facilities these days
And I’m guessing concerts are a massive payday for these days

Lachie Neale has been called out by Damien Barrett , Caroline Wilson , Ben Dixon in no uncertain terms regards his integrity the reputation of his wife and the possibility of a move back to Perth to be with family ?
Leigh Mathews as part of the football department at the lions has said there were whispers 6/8 weeks ago that Lachie Neales wife wasn’t happy and wanted to back around family ??
To specifically the AFL media it has been blatantly obvious they were just pissed off they didn’t know first and got totally scooped ?

The stadium hosted a 50k plus one day international 2 40 k bbl games and 3 Ed Sheehan concerts 50 k plus I was at the last one which
Was 56 k ( who wouldn’t have come with out Optus )
Subiaco was a capacity of 43 k but with noise issues
I’m not sure many in wa care about your issues with who pays for what
It’s an entertainment centre of sorts
If the state government use it to bring events to the state that’s there right
But in regards the afl Freo and west coast need to have a crowd of 30 k to have the ground fully opened to break even
