I know that this is slightly off topic, though along similar lines, but is a defensive player who is off the field when a ball is played, and effectively offside allowed to rejoin the play once it has gone past him and make a tackle?
The specific example here, and one that sticks in my craw, is Brett Morris last year in Origin making a tackle on Greg Inglis even though he was off the field receiving treatment when the ball was played.

So many great outside backs over the years to choose from, John Ribot, Choppy Close, Rowdy Shearer, Kerry Boustead to name a few that didn’t make your squad.
