The level of respect towards referees has been sliding for years. This game was particularly bad but players ultimately do what they can get away with. Badger has to take ultimate responsibility for that. I can’t remember who it was but she touched one of the players at one stage, showed weakness throughout and ultimately lost control of the match. She is a good referee; she will learn from this game and improve. Author is correct that she didn’t get anywhere near the support she should have from the bunker.

Entitled NRL players trying to stand over Kasey Badger are in for a rude shock

If he needs to be left alone he needs to keep his month shut. The people around him should be giving him this exact advice.

Latrell is rugby league's clickbait magnet - and it's time to leave him alone

I’ve always thought that Latrell was a 6! It stop him floating in and out of games.

Where to now for South Sydney? Latrell positional switch well worth a try for biggest under-achievers of 2023

The policy should absolutely not be changed. It should be reserved for serious offences and this is not that. Whilst groping someone drunkenly on the dance floor is unacceptable and he should be punished it is nowhere in the same league as serious sexual assault or domestic violence. And save me the platitudes Mary. If I get in an argument with my neighbour and punch him it obviously shows disrespect. It doesn’t mean the next week I’m going to murder someone. This issue needs objective facts and clear analyses not ideological buzz words and terms.

Why NRL should revisit no fault stand-down policy in the wake of Brown allegations

6: Hynes
7: Reynolds
13:Murray

SOS Reyno: How the Souths connection can fire the Blues to victory in Game 2

I’d probably pick Hynes at 6 but as an out of the box option, given the form he is in why not Mitchell. Guy could play anywhere..

Blues blunders: The selection mistakes NSW keep making at Origin time to the delight of the Maroons

Premierships are on the horizon. The rest of the league is on notice!

'My goal has always been for the Bulldogs to be back, pieces are finally in place': Chairman bullish on future

It’s not a timid step, it’s a deeply regressive and condescending step. Nothing is more sexist or patronising to women than mandatory placements. I certainly wouldn’t respect a women, or anyone else for that matter who got a board position in this way. Women should stand on their own two feet and be judged on their merit.
This is terrible, short term thinking.

What's the point of the ARLC mandating one female board member?

I have to agree. If it was a racial slur it would have been all we heard about and for good reason.
Mens sporting culture does have a long way to go in regards to homophobia. It’s telling that since Ian Roberts no queer NRL player has felt comfortable coming out.

It's 2022, 'the heat of the moment' is not an excuse for homophobia

I’d like to see two changes. Firstly, cut the audio between the referees and the bunker. We don’t need to hear what they are saying. This would allow them to be more candid and therefore more likely to get the correct decision.
Secondly, and this kills me, as soon as the ball is out of play the clock needs to stop. Having it running when there is no play is amateurish. It’s embarrassing.

The six changes the NRL must implement

Yep. He’s a 6!

Latrell continues to be hung out to dry by South Sydney
