Health and happiness to you Daniel from the Roar family, long live sport !!

Four incredible years of sport: My farewell to The Roar

I really love the CAS, they were right on Nick Darcy and they are oh so right on this guy. It’s a shame it’s not the full 8 years but at least he doesn’t go to Tokyo and is hopefully too old for Paris when it comes up. He smashed those vials because he knew they were tainted, not because he was worried they weren’t officials, please !! I was also so proud of our swimmers for sticking up for their sport in the face of this cheat.

Sun Yang's doping ban almost halved

Icon of the game, I call him a blight on the game because his only legacy will be to breed a whole generation of cheats that can’t go and win the ball legitimately. They drop the knee and throw the arm up in a nano second and there’s the head high tackle, I’ve at least seen more and more umpires not fall for it as much ( pun intended ). He’s an absolute grub in my book and only being defended by a serial sook in Scott, he should’ve been rubbed out for a week on the facial massage.

"An icon of the game": Scott demands more respect for Joel Selwood

Mumford is a wrecking ball, he is crude in his rucking, tackling, etc all knees and elbows, you just breath a sigh of relief if your ruckman gets through a game against him unscathed

Cameron stands by Mumford following scrutiny

Great read Bloke, the respect for both coach and club was on every line. Our great win just goes to show how much sport is played between the ears. On the day, Melbourne’s mindset was weak and ours was strong. As we’ve seen time and time again, if you step over that white line and aren’t switched on, you can’t manufacture it during the game. It showed that if you bring effort and take the game on for four quarters, anything is possible. I thought it was a beautiful way for Bucks to show our next prospective coach that the team has a lot of potential for success down the road. I also have been shown in no uncertain terms that Graham Wright is all about the club and we are in very good hands indeed, Go Pies !!

We are all human: An emotional farewell to Bucks

Fantastic read Bloke and spot on ! I was wondering how you would polish up that big pile of poo we dished up last week and now I know lol !! I’m so happy for Jamie ( and us ) and let’s hope he gets a good run at it, for his sake and ours !! Your honesty and passion is excellent Bloke, Go Pies !!!

Collingwood Round 12 review

Well done Bucks, gives us clear air, pressure off Graham Wright, a wonderful selfless act for us to move forward with, Go Pies !!!!

Buckley stepping down as Collingwood coach

Eddies been looking through grog goggles at Bucks for years, the succession plan was a disaster and just keeps giving. Malthouse was highly insulted with the idea and closed his magic book of coaching to Bucks ( and rightly so ) once he knew he was taking his job. Bucks should have went away for a few years and learnt his trade at a neutral club as an assistant and we should’ve kept Mick on for a few more years. I agree the hierarchy need to stop playing the faithful for fools and give us some vision to the future either by the current board or the rebels. Because out here in reality all we want is a hard working club that is proud of the guernsey and representing us in the best possible light, on and off the field.

A revolt ten black and white years in the making

Be sanctioned for what, we all did stupid things in the past and he seems very sorry for what he said, this cancel culture crap needs to stop !! There are clearly a lot of perfect people out there that have never done a thing wrong in their lives !!

The ECB faces tough call on Ollie Robinson

Really looking forward to this one, two big heavyweights coming together in ripping nick, both trying to get a psychological lick on the other before the pointy end, a great way to forget the lockdown blues, Lions by a kick

Analysing Friday night footy: Melbourne vs Brisbane

That’s the killer part Kane, we always revert back to the negative stuff and never keep taking it on, there is no fluidity with Bucks, to me that’s coaching death.

Another week, another heartbreak

I hope so Phil, he would be so devastating for us in the forward line, I agree a better game plan might help him and us but would like to see a better work ethic from our Jordan

Another week, another heartbreak

I was getting a little worried you were missing in action Bloke but you came through in the end lol !! Totally agree with your assessment on our stinky game plan, I’d rather lose a thousand times taking the game on than lose once with the negative defensive keeping off the opposition rubbish we are seeing atm. He just doesn’t seem to want to change anything, is it arrogance or he simply hasn’t got another plan because, game after game it is the same !! I pegged Bucks to be a semi intelligent guy so I don’t understand with this world beaters one quarter and drop off the cliff the next, it is extremely frustrating for us punters in the crowd !! I’m worried about Pendles, I’ve seen a few signs over the last couple of weeks that the game might be catching up on the great man, I hope not. When a team is not travelling well like we are, it is a perfect opportunity to see the workers and the bludgers in your team and Jordan DeGoey is a bludger that needs to have a hook in his mouth and see what we can get for him. Keep it up Bloke, you’re glass half full approach is refreshing and boy do we need all positivity we can get at the moment, Go Pies !!

Another week, another heartbreak

The poor old tackler is being rewarded less and less in our modern game. If you’re stronger and quicker than your opponent and you lay a textbook tackle, with no malice, how on earth can you get suspended ? I hope common sense prevails and he gets off, otherwise a nasty precedent will be set.

Nick Holman's tackle puts AFL's relationship with head knocks on notice

Absolutely spot on Joe

The case against reappointing Nathan Buckley

Whack lol !!

The truths some Collingwood fans have never faced

Sier was pushed aside just when he looked to me to be a great foil for Pendles, Steele and Taylor in the middle by the terrible Beams trade. Dayne should have left footy altogether after Brisbane because he was still clearly too crook to play and someone at Collingwood should have seen that. We did Siers’ head in because he was pushed out at a time when he was about to break out, he’s never been the same since, another awful deal that wasted money and talent again.

The truths some Collingwood fans have never faced

You’re doing well Bloke , pulling positives everywhere and loving your glass half full approach mate !! It is very frustrating though where the boys show us what they are capable of but either can’t or don’t want to for four full quarters. I appreciate the kids get cooked quickly but a bit of hard work ethic from our leaders would be nice. It looks to me as though Bucks has completely lost the desire and is going through the motions. I am super glad he is giving a lot of the kids are run because in our present state, that’s exactly what he should be doing. You’re spot on, we are a much better side without Mason Cox in it, a lot more free space up forward. So glad to see Darcy in his rightful position, it really gives the young back line some confidence. As soon as Bucks took the lazy DeGoey out of the forward line and into the midfield, it fell apart against Sydney, his body language and general play is bad if you see him live. So off to the G Sunday to see if we can cause an upset ( true optimist I am lol !! ) but actually Bloke I’ll be watching the Daicos’ and Browns’, Quaynor, McCreery, etc having a crack because that’s where our bright future lies, Go Pies !!!

One quarter down, three to go for the Pies

I agree, the whole season is lopsided and unfair but until the AFL have a 36 round competition where every team plays each other twice, one home, one away, we are never going to have a level playing field. I’ve always been embarrassed how little we travel during the season, it’s always about the almighty dollar with the AFL, that’s why the Richmond’s( 14 games at the G ), Collingwood’s ( 15 games at the G ) and Melbourne’s ( 10 games at the G ) play so much at the G. It is incredibly unfair and not right on the other teams in the competition but take it up with the AFL, not us, we don’t make the fixtures, they do. As for winning flags, absolutely, that’s why I watch and support my Club because I want success and we won one in 2010 so I’ve still got 4 years to achieve it lol ! If we get rid of some staff and I believe we have some good kids coming through, we will be able to contend again in 2 or 3 years time hopefully. I will always be eternally grateful to Ed for getting us back on our feet and to get some of the biggest corporate sponsors in the land behind us and back to the strong Club we are today. Yes absolutely I’ve been embarrassed at times when the only time he’s opened his mouth, was to change feet but I believe every Club and supporter would want there president to have the passion and love he has for the black and white, they just won’t admit it lol !! The reason I’m so cranky about the jumper is I hate the thought of some other team wearing my stripes, I don’t care if it’s once a year ( which we know the untrustworthy Koch, it wouldn’t be ) or for five minutes. It’s not the jumper they agreed on when they joined this comp. If they want to wear that jumper or call themselves the magpies or whatever the hell they want to call themselves, go back to SANFL !!

There is a clear solution to the Port-Collingwood prison bar row

Just like you said, they couldn’t be trusted in the SANFL and they can’t be trusted in the AFL after the weekends stunt. You talk about Ed being a child, he’s only trying to protect our brand and I for one am glad he is, the silence from our useless new president is deafening !! David Koch is being the petulant child here and I for one hope the AFL issue him with a please explain this week then fine him a mill and deduct 4 premiership points because this issue needs to be put to bed once and for all !!! They bleat on about history and unity, community etc, well where were they all about ten years ago when they had to put big rent a tarps over the seats because no one would come ! Now they are all singing never tear us apart before the games all united, please, the hypocrisy is breathtaking and cringeworthy at best !!

There is a clear solution to the Port-Collingwood prison bar row

The historical facts are the Collingwood Football Club are the ones that can wear the black and white stripes in this competition, no one else and the AFL have said so and Port needs to stop flipping the middle finger to us and them or be punished accordingly, Go Pies !!

Port's prison bar jumper fight continues

You’re the one with the two guernseys, not me, that sounds like an identity crisis to me lol !!!

Port's prison bar jumper fight continues

Disrespectful I call it, the AFL should slap them hard

Port's prison bar jumper fight continues

My biggest concern is we actually beat North and all of a sudden people start to think he’s good and deserves another chance, it will be a false dawn. If Graham Wright does re sign him, the club will be more divided and fractured than ever because I firmly believe that their are more supporters out there that can’t stand the jumper being disrespected the way it is at the moment for much longer. We got sucked in three years ago when the players wanted him to stay, I now know why because it’s a bludgefest playing for us !!

Sorry Nathan Buckley, but it's over

The win loss ratio is irrelevant for me, it’s the way he seems to have favourites and has created clicky little groups amongst the team. It’s the way he treated Heritier, Chris Maine when he first came to the club because it looked as though he was slighted for not being in the loop of that selection. The way he handled Treloar, Stephenson and Phillips was poor to say the least and if he stays on it show’s future stars that maybe want to come to our club, this is how you will be treated. I’ve been to the games and his game plan is backwards, negative and wrong for the current game. He is putting players in positions of weakness not strengths and seems stubborn and arrogant to change them. He went negative the last 4 minutes of 2018 and it cost us dearly, he went negative the last two minutes of the Brisbane game and it cost us again, I could bring up many other examples, he keeps making the same mistakes over and over again. I believe he has been the players friend more than their coach for a very long time and that at times has been to our detriment. I love my club and I’ve loved Bucks as a player and at times as a coach and I’ve watched footy long enough to know my club needs some clear air.

Buckley isn’t the only reason for Collingwood’s demise, but he’s a chief architect
