Peter!!!! I’m staggered you STILL watch it. If its local I turn off the sound TV and turn on the radio commentary. Best of both…generally!
Do commentators talk too much?
They will be bias ‘cos they can’t help having a side they want to see win, but…. on every game?

This applies also to coaching I’m sad to say. Great guys but mmmmmmmm! coaches. Toddy Blackadder springs to thought. No title after how many attempts? Maybe it’s his year this time?

Bill McLaren. Now there’s a commentator I had no trouble listening to. Richie was a bit dry for me but great at cricket commentary for cricket followers and lovers.

Hi Guys,
Sorry about Murray Mex but he also fell into my thoughts as per Marshall. However if he returns I trust it will be with a bit more experience.

Too long to debate but noted the good and valued points put forward thanks Clarky
I see red on red cards
Thanks Colvin,
There must be something better than the current status quo, and I offered suggestions to do that. (Some of my argument appear to have been re- edited.)
I see red on red cards
Clarky, your points are noted but the one you miss is that the Red card creates an in-balance for all and although used as a “punishment” for the player action, it creates too much unbalance.
A Red card is for the most serious offences but it’s consequences should be determined AFTER the game, not spoiling an entire game at the time. The time to determine the severity is in the cold light of day and after hearings, not in the heat of the moment that may, by the one action in one game by one player, prevent his team from winning say a competition by player actions some time previous.
I am also not arguing on the merits of a Red card but the point that there are better ways to give balance to all and I offered a suggestions that may improve the current rule.
I see red on red cards
“Only as good as one’s last game?” Very true. Wasn’t it Australia that was in the same position as England in the previous Ashes series? Oh how the memory can fade so quickly. Congrats Australia on fine wins but beware of the dog who bites back!
Renewed hope or a false dawn for Australia?
I see that Australians are as humble as you Brad. God help us if they start crowing!
Kangaroos beat Kiwis to win Rugby League World Cup
This what I have been saying for a long time that the Team is running the Coach! To point the finger at Robbie Deans is a bit rich and totally unfair. The main reason for Dean’s lack-lustre team performances is due to the same problem and he was dumped for trying to fix the problem. McKenzie has struck the same road bump and as much as I would like to think it wont, it will continue to happen until the WB become as professional in all aspects as the AB’s.
McKenzie cracks the discipline whip
Please take the blinkers off Red Kev and take the sarcasm from the comment. To illustrate by return, small thinkers often wish they could be like those that others look up to from bended knees.
Springboks vs All Blacks: what the heavenly Ellis Park Test means to world rugby
Good to have the win but, remember, one swallow does not a summer make……. and then there’s the AB in two weeks time to bring back the reality
Folau on fire with a hat-trick as Wallabies finally arrive
…then ask them to be the team and fill in the gaps with the better players from the pretenders….!
Talking don’t fix it mate, actions do!
Pulver must look to past Wallabies to improve current crop
What is this travelogue tripe? Or is it a case that as the Wallabies were more than useless against the Boks, we’ll shoot the AB’s in the foot?
Watch this space next week Brett after an AB spit out a bit of Bok, and weep!
All Blacks, welcome to Johannesburg
Didn’t take to long to find the scapegoat for a lack lustre pack of rugby players did it Wooblies? McKenze had the knife into Deans long before he has been found out. Bet he now wishes he was just the Assistant Coach under Deans! Oh, sorry forgot. McKenzie is Australian so all will be forgiven…eh?
Wallabies wobble to a win over Pumas
I didn’t think McKenzie was a Kiwi DB? Stupid, yes but Kiwi, no.
Mowen set to begin a long reign as Wallaby captain
Please….! Whatever makes you believe that ANY Wallaby is going to read my input to winning, believe it and then do it.? ….But, we live in hope!
Tips for the Wallabies from a Kiwi
Me too Ralph. There are so many clichés that can be used but a bit of light hearted comment always makes me smile until the serious ones come along. Taking things for what they are and getting over the heavy stuff everyone writes about at the beginning is great. Lets be sure of one thing…. the AB’s and NZ would be getting the advice had the Wallabies won and storm clouds would have been cast over the Long White.

There will always be opinion that is different to everyone else’s that’s what makes the Roar so good to read.
