It’s said by big capital city teams or say MV V state League team that’s decisions even out.
As a Mariner fan the above does not hold true.
All teams get there bad days… But over the years we have had many and not that many were it all went our way.
The reaction on the Coast is disbelief..
Especially after the two calls on the Jerks V MV in the box. One was a pen for sure and waved away by both the ref n var.
Friday night was beyond poor from both the field ref and the var ref. I watched the match at a local club. Two pommies in Australia on a two year work thing said in Europe both would be dropped for the season and they would have s look behind the match.
IMO how management react to Friday night will tell us a lot. I am told this is not the first time this ref has had issues.
As for var for me .. offsides only…
Back to my kinda opening a poor ref in charge of a match where a small club playing away from home.
My folders experience is the Jerks n Mariners struggle in the things balance themselves over the season…

I am mixed either will do.
As others have said there is a laundry list of things to fix.
The football on display does seem of a higher quality and that could be important.
I watched half a game of NRL the other day and for mercy sake it was repetitive and boring so if approached right winter should work.
But agree with waz it needs lots of anaslysis first.
Is a switch to winter the key to unlocking the A-League's potential?

In local park teams I see a lot of Asian players….
My experience in a huge Asian part of Sydney is as a broad statement the parents see education for their kids light years above sport….
Your question could equally be applied to cricket, league, AFL….
As for the Indian population in the count it’s cricket first second n third.
Football needs to engage with more Asian Australians
