Knock back for all the Berries in the world ?

The ref thought he kicked it, it’s not his fault Slater is a magician. If The Slater went for it, without the trickery, he scores. Either way it’s a try and he’s brilliant, even if in this case he didn’t know it.

It's time to invite Bernard Sutton for a coffee in Belmore as the Bunnies make a statement

I agree with you 40 20, to a degree. In the dogs/ broncos game there was more than one turning point-there were lots. Same with most of the games in this years crazy comp. Inconsistent even. That’s why I love it!

That was last year this is now. This year they’re calling knockbacks for what they are-hallalooya, isn’t that what we all wanted? I guess not.

By the way of some people’s comments you’d think this ref call turned the game (and confirms the nrl/broncos conspiracy). By that rationale, if he takes the ball clean he wins the game for his team, otherwise the ref wins it for them. Some perspective please.

Lots of gnashing of teeth, name calling and venting over this one, which was clearly a knock back-another good call by the ref. What would some league fans do without having the ref to blow up at?

Frustratingly, last year any dropped ball was called forward. It’s been so relieving this year that the game is allowed to flow when a ball is lost backwards.

Lots of talk last week about how soft, old plodders the roosters pack is, it was an unbelievable effort that the dogs couldn’t accept til the very end but you know the definition of insanity…

Roosters win the set 6-0, the watershed Warriors and Wayne licks his wounds

I’m with you Lyrebird, I was riveted to my seat waiting for the dags to score but alas the determined roosters denied them. I think you’re being too harsh on them TB, I’m guessing a result of unfulfilled expectations. Dogs thought they’d win in through the middle, as shown by their unrelenting forwards battering the line, reasonable in light of the roosters limp forwards effort last week-how well they turned that around in a week! It’s funny you often hear winners saying they stuck to the plan but never losers. A Plan B wasn’t apparent. If Foran got more involved they would have scored.

Thank The God for taking a hit for us OWC’s (old white c’s) Izzy. About time you lot stood up! I’m sorry thou you will be punished for thy sins. So you, or anyone else in the future, are not allowed to say what you said for fear of loss of life. It’s a shame on us all Australians for we are no longer free. Your sacrifice for us all will be remembered.

Tell your story walking Israel. The NRL doesn’t want your crap

That would be one of the better incarnations of MG, Con ?

Rabbitohs upset Roosters to move into top eight

That made the Dragons win more impressive against this Bunnies side and the Sharks loss even more woeful last week. So the Saints should spank the Sharks tonight, right? Or will this comp become curiouser?

Great to see warriors are finally realising their potential this year. Good things where have you been so long? Make it sux from sux ?

Top tip: Don't Warrior, be happy

Blaming the refs is detracting from the game. At the half time break D v K, Joey Johns gets on the tv and says great game because the refs put away the whistle – actually dragons got pinged 6 times by then, hardly saving their breath. It was in fact a great first half because both teams were disciplined, few errors, respecting the ref and the rules (and hence the game), creative, hard and fast. Can’t wait to see more great footy when the other teams catch up with these standards.

The rocks and diamonds of season 2018

Was I not seeing things? Did Mr Andrew Fifita go through the entire game without a penalty awarded against him (let alone a brain explosion-except during the kerfuffle at the end, but that was after the FT siren so I won’t hold him on that one)? Is that even possible? If so, if he can do it anyone can. Was he coached to show some discipline, did he have a word to himself in the mirror or both? If the refs crackdown has helped reform such an habitual sinner as Andrew, there is hope for them all-except perhaps such hard-wired self-appointed refs like Smith.
Keep it up refs, don’t listen to the rants and raves of media men who profess to love the game while sullying it.

The referees aren’t ruining the game, the stubborn players are

Dynamic, deceptive, dun good? Great game tonight

And the way the little half darted out of the pack to deliver it to the big man tonight defies description

Great refereeing, keep it up men. A bit of discipline is what the game needs. Hate to see so many transgressions from the players, but they’ll get used to it.

It is a favourite HG Nelson phrase. Just like too much sport is barely enough.

Should they look at the passion and heart their rugby league WC brothers show they might put up more of a fight on the field. The Poms are discontent for some reason and this is expressed as whining.

Have England psyched themselves out of the Ashes?

It’s the “butterfly effect”-the sensitive dependence on initial conditions-from little things big things grow! Players should play the ball with their foot while facing the opposition goal posts. Show some bloody respect for the ball and the game. Nice to see one or two players doing it over the past few weeks. Maybe defence won’t feel so desperate to cheat the 10 m as they all too often are on and on it goes…

Wiz Freeman to refs: Call and be damned (but respected)

“Hey, Doc, you have a slight problem.”
“Oh you wascally wabbit.”
Remind you of someone?

So we should support the Roosters just because they're from Sydney? I think not!

I’m looking forward to the much needed, and obviously lacking, mongrel dog Graham will bring to the Dragons or will that be nullified?

Dragons vow to stop signing coaches

It would be interesting to how many of our homegrown Top End talent are already playing in the Cowboys “official” feeder clubs.
