This is the problem…The ref should not rule try or no try if he has a concern…He should feed the decision to a greater observation facility which may be the bunker…

It’s like the rulings ”did not play the ball”….If you are playing the man with the ball you are playing the ball…full stop…the original rule of not playing the ball drew from the situation on say,last tackle were a winger may kick the ball into his opponent legs for it to go out and he would receive the ball…That’s where it began..no one knows where it ends….just like these crazy tackle restarts where it is so easy to see that referees have move power to determine points then when two points from a scrum penalty was thought to be too much control for the referees and they created the differential scrum penalty…..Now we have a circus like mini minor full of clowns pushing the button for tackle count restarts that are surely compelling the games towards grand stand photo finishes…
There use to be a day when you checked who was refereeing before you made a bet or a tip….Today it is hard to tip and most sit on the home team safety fence.Back then each ref had different idiosyncrasies..Now they are all engineered from Bill Harrigan’s hide….All grey fence sitters who don’t trust their own eyes.

Truth of the matter is the ref was incompetent and when the tigers winger had kicked the ball forward the bulldogs winger ran Bula off the bulldogs fullback and Bateman was seen remonstrating about the winger running his fullback off the ball….Klemer coming up behiind and within earshot of the referee heard him complain by her blindness,,,,,Then all hell broke loss…The lack of ten metres in that game was outrageous as the Bulldogs appeared more proficient at moving up on the offensive side that players were grabbed as soon as they received the ball….set after set.

Nofo is playing in English super league and he has too many deficiencies…defensively he was 20 points loss for the Tigers ten years ago…

NSW had a silly mindset of picking bodies and not footballers…..We approached QLD with the ”bruise brothers” intent to out muscle them which has never succeeded….All it did was see centres playing wing and locks and second rowers playing five eight…just dumb selection and the selectors never got sacked through that run QLD had….also we had a suicidal mentality of giving away one of our home games to places like Melbourne which has heavy QLD support…
We tried to play percentage football with the likes of lockyer,Thurston,cameron smith and Slater….That is like going to the world poker championship in Las Vegas and playing percentage plays on the cards dealt….you won’t win against the best percentage poker players nor a smart psychology from the Melbourne players who can grind you into nothing….In those situations you must take risks…you have to bluff..and be prepared to lose the ball but still defend your errors…Everyone knows defending on your line is aerobically the easiest work…so why did Fitler have us playing safe football until we got near their line and we become impotent.

Talking about game one and we recall Fitler chose two crocks in Addo-Carr and Turbo…..As soon as Slater saw that he bounced Gagai and bought in ”the Hammer”…..WHY?…because his speed left a groin tied Turbo in his wake….first oppotunity and Munster slips the ball behind turbo who turned and looked at the back of the Hammer…This was Fitler not being progressive enough to say he does not have the team he had from the year before victory,…and selecting a team of newer talent…He would not select Graham from Souths even though he had played with the sternum problem all year.
Fitler was sure dumb and if we won that first game the series is ours…but Filters jaw went slack and he had nothing to counter.He was trying to attack from 10-20 meters from their line…These defenses at this level and with the rule book being thrown out allowed QLD to easy handle our nothing attack…..BUT they launched raids from their 40 meter line while we played compressed line defense.

well it depends…if QLD will sacrifice a home game for the games sake as NSW HAS DONE FOR TWENTY YEARS then NSW may have a hope….what is this Melbourne game…that is like a QLD home game.

way back in bill harrigan’s day a ham radio magazine intercepted the great Warren Ryan taking on two way at a game and he said ”Bill Harrigan is a grand stand finish referee”…What that means is they don’t care who wins as long as it goes to the wire and both sets of fans feel like they got a piece of the action.
Today they are all encouraged to be grand stand finishing refs….that way the ref can leave the car park in peace…with all the fans getting a thrill.

Absolute blight…I use to know instinctively what tackle it was …now I have no idea…a restart on first tackle is a one tackle penalty…but on tackle five is a five tackle gain…and probably for the similar offense…Sometimes we don’t know where the call is coming from…we hear that horrible noise and boom…Teams are purposely slowing things on first tackle because the penalty is only one tackle…..
and why have coaches not figured out yet that kicking and finding the turf deep towards the in goal is the best option…they are terrorfied on a 7 tackle set….what?…they are belted with 12-18 tackles with restarts so the risk of the ball going dead is not the end of the world..
No coach has figured it out yet but still they kick high and land the ball in the opponents arms on the 25 metre line….take the risk…kick long and lw to find the ground.

There is no reason to penalise if a player uses his body to baulk an opponent…as long as he makes no contact…It is a rubbish rule and players need to catch the ball and bad luck if a player waves an arm through a players viewing space.

I’ve never considered restart count after games….yes…why not..
It is so hard to get back 10 metres per tackle and a set has a team breathing hard ,…but to drop 12 tackles and then 15 on a side is impossible to counter…Only a weak attack or fumble can stop a try…I can handle when an error is made the ref pulls the offside caper .

As well as the Gagai quick tap with the ref saying”play on”….then he says you can’t quick tap on foul play….where was the foul PLAY….I say a slow play the ball and considered that the reason for the penalty.
These refs and bunkers are determining games far more with tackle restarts then scrum penalties which was changed to differential penalties to tie the refs hands….these repeated sets are killing teams…so easy for refs to tilt the playing field.

I agree with the Collins clip and the play on one was outrageous grand stand finish referee’n as he said it was fould play but no one got called out…what foul play….You are wrong on the Crighton one though…If a player knocks on but fails to recover the ball and the ball finds the ground it is a knock on…even if the last knock was backwards….he initially lost it forward and did not secure the ball….those are the rules….and this other thing of players losing the ball into an opponent is going mad as well…I have seen a few examples of teams knocking the ball back to their line and making contact with opponent,,,,and being called knock forward…the rule is not lose the ball and if it contacts opponent it is lost ball…it was always in the knock on realm.///
