People say this every year and every year it’s the same old story. It’s difficult to buy a premiership of late. They will fall short if they even get close.

Fifita signing coup an extra feather in the cap as Roosters reopen premiership window

Fair point. Just watching all 3 play this year I can’t get my head around how Teddy can be the better fullback. I know they’re playing in different systems and Penriths is the best atm, but Dylan is always a stand out. He has been phenomenal this year in the absence of Cleary. Where as Teddy seems patchy with his great, good and average games. I’m probably biased. I just can’t fathom Dylan not doing a good job there, and if turbo is picked then him getting his hands on the ball more often cannot be a bad thing.

Fullback to the future: Why Madge’s No.1 choice for Blues jersey will define how his side plays

It’s easy for Teddy to have the best stats in post contact metres because he generally dies with the ball. He is allergic to passing. He is a hog and that bit us last year where his performance was ordinary. His best years are behind him even if he is in better form he is still hot and cold. If you want X factor- pick turbo, if you want reliability- pick Edwards, if you want to make qld happy- pick Tedesco. Stats don’t always paint an accurate picture in rugby league.

Nope. You just can’t argue with a lunatic.

You’re a lunatic.

Every team used kick blockers. Souths included especially in the Reynolds era.

So you think that Penrith entered the game with a plan for Tago to take out a player knowing that he could get one or two weeks on the sidelines for his hip drop when they are playing the team coming last? Take off your tin foil hat please mate. You need help.

Deliberate!? lol. It was an accident. Started off as a good tackle and ended badly. It was on the milder scale of a hip drop but he should spend a week or two suspended nevertheless. The only player I’ve seen of late who gets preferential treatment from deliberately trying to hurt people of late is Taane Milne. His current suspension was outrageously short. Let’s also not get started on the stuff Latrell gets away with.

He is right though. The tackle was ugly and there should be a rule in place to stop that sort of thing happening, but there is not a rule. A duty to bend is something that was made up last night. If it was just a head clash without the gore then it would have been a non event.

'Duty to bend' debate over Walsh hit overshadows 'absolute genius' Cleary torturing Broncos in statement Panthers win

The trip sure he should have been binned for that, but the head high was a non event. Luais arms were down by his sides and Simonsson fell into him. That’s why it turned out to be nothing. He didn’t even lift his arms. If you’re going to pick an example you’ve picked the worst one.

NRL consistently inconsistent when it comes to punishments for head-high contact

As much as the media has talked up the world club challenge and Ivan has played along to some degree, it really is a nothing game that probably only matters to the Poms. The regular season is what counts. Penrith pretty much debuting a number 6 in that game shows how serious it was for them. If it mattered they would have run with Shneider as a safer bet.

NRL News: Panthers gun banned for social media post, Brisbane's 'gut-wrenching' review, Bryce sets sights even higher

Should have been handed down before the season started so that he could use the world club challenge for it just like every other team gets to use rep games. Anyone who thinks Penrith get a leg up in the NRL are delusional.

If Fittler picks Sualli then they need to bring in mandatory drug testing for coaches. Has he even played a good game this year?
I think with the 9 they need to pick either Api or Cooke and make them play 80. Both can do it. The best thing dual hooker idea doesn’t work for that pair.

The Blues team that can overcome worrying form and fitness as Game 1 looms

I am happy for Hynes to get the nod for origin. He has been great this year and is a likeable bloke. To say that Luai can’t handle the elite level though is pretty funny. Have you watched much footy in the last 3 years?

ANALYSIS: Luai picks perfect moment to make Origin case, but Robbo's Roosters are a rabble - and they've lost JWH and Manu

If you were smart you would be able to read. Let me break it down for you again. Walker-has-only-started-playing-well-after-Reynolds-left-because-Illias-has-found-his-form.
Luai is a big game player, hence his rings and trophy’s. How many does Cody have? His most famous big game moment was getting a pass intercepted.

Yep Walker has only come good since Ilias has found his form. After Reynolds left he was lost and spent more time trying to start fights than win games.
You could pretty much swap Luais name for Walker in ever sentence that GB wrote and it would make perfect sense.

One sin binning was a hip drop, I don’t agree with them but it has been the same all year for all sides. Leniu grimaced and they stopped the game. Hard for the ref not to give that one.
The other was a punch. A weak punch at that but it was a striking motion.
Both sides got away with high shots in that game. Walker rushed out and dropped Crighton with his shoulder making chin contact.
I think the warriors problem is they fake it too much. Zelezniak in particular he must have tried it on half a dozen times acting hurt.
The refs cop enough without all of these clowns coming out with conspiracy theories

Burton is a fantastic centre but a little overrated in the halves imo. His performances of the last two years have been patchy.
I was all for Hynes until he threw a spanner in the works with his efforts yesterday.
I think he will pick Luai just because and Luai will do an ok job.
Our forward pack is who will lose us the series regardless of who is at 6 and 7.
We need a new coach who can fire the boys up. They need to go out there full of hate and not be cool, calm and filled with the peace loving stuff that Freddy instills in them.

Matt Burton is the ideal five-eighth to complement the Cleary show in Origin

Suaalli is over rated. Campbell Graham will do the job well enough.

Origin I predicted teams: How Maroons, Blues squads are shaping up as rising stars put incumbents under pressure

Maybe a bit better, but after his gf effort I am not sure that he can handle the big games

Luai clearly under pressure from Burton to be punted as Cleary’s Origin halves partner

Hynes for sure. Burton is hot and cold.

Shit yeah! Moses was dynamite in his last origin appearance.

Rugby is boring. That’s why once a kid leaves their private school they are done with it. League will always win in excitement and player quality. The evidence is in the fact that the Wallabies path to going anywhere in the WC is poaching established league players. It’s a game to chuck on if you’re having trouble sleeping. That’s about all it’s good for.

South’s also scored off a blatant forward pass. Penrith definitely copped worse penalties and 6 agains than South’s. Souths grubbiness is what let them down. Too many hot heads.
