The. Optus chief executive resigns with immediate effect.
Yet McLennan won’t accept responsibility for some terrible decisions.

Who the hell does he think he is ?

ANALYSIS: McLennan's fatal blind spot, and why his exit leaves Australian rugby in a better place and a worse one

Surely, if as Curry asserts it has happened before, why didn’t he challenge the hooker along the lines of “ did you just call me a white c…” ?

England react with fury as Bok cleared by World Rugby after TWO racism allegations made by Tom Curry

Why do you think he got booed. I’m not sure about being hated.
Certainly disliked.

He comes across as a person who is smarter than anyone in the room- at least that’s what he thinks.
He talks a good game and that’s about it.
When you say he works hard and has nothing to show for his efforts, it reminds me of the person who studies the wrong syllabus for an exam.
He turns over so many coaches. And you have to wonder why this is so.

REPORT: Eddie Jones to quit Wallabies and join Japan as head coach

I never thought I’d see such a vindictive article in the Roar.

COMMENT: Few will remember Andy Marinos but history could paint him in a different light

His running, pace and swerve reminds me a bit of Danie Gerber.
What do you think ?

Should Henry Arundell start the second Test?

Langer won’t be the first nor the last to be let go .
I think the board made a rod for their own backs by giving a time horizon for making the decision. It invited speculation.
On the hand ,what Mathew Hayden or Ricky Ponting or Steve Waugh think is totally irrelevant to the board.

Whilst I don’t have to read their opinions why can’t they keep their comments to themselves.
Maybe I’m old fashioned. But this playing out in the press is nauseating.

Finally
By way of comparison, sir Alex Ferguson, mellowed the longer he was in the job. He had control of the dressing room and he did adapt to a new generation’s way of thinking.
Unfortunately, I don’t think the same can
said about Langer.

Justin Langer resigns as Test coach with immediate effect, camp blames 'faceless few,' CA reacts

Relax. I have heard from someone in the rugby hierarchy that preparations are going according to plan. They’re getting ready for the 2031 World Cup

The Wrap: Rinse and repeat as sharply focused All Blacks sweep the Wallabies

Would it help Australia if the All Blacks had just 13 players in their team? Banning interceptions would also help.

MATCH REPORT: Rennie called for a foot on the throat, but All Blacks' response was 'ruthless'

Why the focus on Latrell misses the real issue in a failing system

From the Scotsman
“ He was in the Northern Transvaal provincial team at 16, playing for Municipals, the leading team in the area, where his form on the left wing soon attracted the attention of English clubs, for whom South Africa was a fertile recruiting ground at the time.

He rejected approaches from Huddersfield Town, but when fellow South African Billy Arniston, already playing at Ibrox, suggested his name to manager Bill Struth, the great Rangers boss followed-up and offered the 18-year-old a deal: his air fare, a £100 signing-on fee and a three-month trial at £12 per week.
Hubbard arrived in Scotland in 1949, quickly saw his original deal become permanent and never left. He took a little time to break into the Rangers’ team – coming off, as it was, the first Scottish “Treble” the previous season, but, by the time he married Glasgow girl Ella Black in 1951, he was the first-choice outside-left.

National Service in the RAF interrupted his career, but, on his return he was soon back in the first team, and those comparisons with Morton began.

His pin-point crosses were a source of goals for his life-long friend, Northern Irishman Billy Simpson: “We stuck together as the only foreigners in the side,” said Hubbard of their friendship.”

The future of Australian football: How to rebuild interest in the beautiful game

Can I refer you to an article about Belgium’s re-emergence as a footballing power.

The future of Australian football: How to rebuild interest in the beautiful game

A small correction. Johnny Hubbard from Pretoria was the first South Africa player to play for Glasgow Rangers. he first played in 1949 whilst Kitchenbrand’s first season 1955.
If you classify Northern Ireland and Eire players as foreigners , there 7 who played for Glasgow Rangers before said Kitchenbrand

English commentator's savage bake for 'totally unsuitable' pitch in Ahmedabad

I’ve watched cricket for 60 years. The finest cover / mid wicket fielder I’ve ever seen is Colin Bland by a country mile. After he sustained a serious knee injury against the Aussies in 66/67, he became a very accomplished slip fielder.

2nd to Bland was Peter Kirsten. He had the most unbelievable hand eye co-ordination I have ever seen. Were it not for a forward falling over the then slightly built 19 year old fly half , he most certainly would have been a rugby international.

Eddie Barlow was a great slip fielder. He could bat and bowl a bit. Mike Procter was a very fine slip fielder as well as a great fast bowler.
Then again greatness is like beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

The ultimate fielding XI

My comment was in response to “Green just finished his first test series. Since when are players supposed to be ‘in the test groove’ from day one?”

Tim Paine's time as captain is done as Australia crumble to humiliation against India

I can think of many players who performed much better than Green. If you’re good enough you’re old enough.
For mine the Australian side batted without self belief. You cannot defend forever unless your name is Puhjara.
Selecting out of form batsmen and bowlers is a recipe for disaster.
I think Paine was terrible under pressure. He was much too tense.
Paine has been shown to have a stubborn streak or whatever you want to call it
As for Langer- the less said the better. Time for him to go. Too loyal to favourites.
Fielding and catching coach. Need to be replaced as well.

As someone once told me ,it’s harder to be dropped from the team than it is to make it.

Pat Cummins . You have to be kidding. Did you ever see Proctor bat ?
I did. South African provincial cricket was very strong in the late 60’s and 70’s.
He scored 155 at Newlands against the Australians for Western
Province batting at 5.
Proctor at his peak was rated 2nd only to Gary
Sobers as an all rounder

Clive Rice I reckon was a far superior bowler and batsman to Tony Greig.
I saw them both of them play. No comparison.

Tony Greig: The forgotten great all-rounder

Greatest fielder for me is Colin Bland. Those who have seen him will attest to his brilliance.

Cricket needs a fielding score. How about this one?

What is Proctor ? He was born in Durban. Has he obtained citizenship of another country ?

How a tired and ageing Australian cricket team made South Africa look great

My favourite rugby players pre professional era
Doug Hopwood ,
Carel Du Plessis ,
Morne Du Plessis,
Frik Du Preez,
Danie Gerber.
Others,
Agie Koch,
H.O. de Villiers

My top five Springboks of all time

If I was advising Seibold, I would tell the Broncos that He will see out his contract. Or they can sack me and pay me out over the remainder of my contract.
I would also pursue my claims for defamation.

What price your career, Anthony Seibold? I'd say more than a million bucks

Any reason why the last named team has 10 players ?

Not left overs: Lefties XI

There was a short fellow by the name of Rohan Kanhai. He could bat a bit.

Making short work: The ultimate munchkin XI

Vintcent van der Bijl
