Funnily enough, the closer we get to the game the more I believe we’ll get turned over by the Boks. Come game time I’ll be a nervous wreck. I don’t enjoy these encounters, I just endure them and hope for the best.

Funny you neglect to mention what happened when they played each other at the World Cup. PSDT making 7 runs for 21 metres and 12 tackles and missing three. Ardie with 9 runs for 42 metres and 8 tackles and one missed. Ardie coming out with a win. The man has played 54 times for the ABs. They don’t just hand those out.

Oh, I agree. Ive got a lot of respect for his ability. The issue is the dismissal of Sotutu, Ioane and Savea’s talents. Comparing the negatives and the positives works if the information is processed fairly. You can’t claim that he completed 15 tackles and missed four when he completed 11 tackles. Running impact numbers is all well and good if they’re the proper numbers.

I’m seeing a lot of praise for Blackadder and rightly so. He had a terrific game. He still missed four tackles I think. Imagine if that had been one of Sotutu, Ioane or Savea. A little balance is required here. That’s all.

I get really nervous when I see messages like this before we play the Boks. Games between us are just ‘different.’ They always seem to find another gear. Something seems to stir in them. I’m always on tenterhooks whenever the Boks are on the horizon. I hate that feeling.
