Would also be good to treat international competition for what it is and allow nationals to play for their own country irrespective of where they happen to be playing.

What can Australian rugby learn from constantly losing?

I agree. The WBs actually showed some good endeavour especially in their off loading game. But they seem lacking in good patterns to drop into – as well as basic skills with some players. Most of the ABs tries were opportunist on the back of WB errors. They have a lot of very good players but not that coherent as a team. The boks game will be the test – but a well disciplined pumas outfit may stretch them.

NZ View: Wallabies' 'first half was a joke', 'own worst enemies', while Foster decision 'puzzling'

Agree on last point. The WB players and coaches did well with what they have – but that’s miles away from the AB stocks. The Barrett brothers coming off the bench is an indication of the number of world class players in NZ at the moment. I honestly do not think there are any in Aussie at the moment. Surely the focus needs to be on identifying and bringing through new talent?

MATCH REPORT: Rennie's Wallabies sent out to go big or die trying - it was the latter

Seems about right. Doesn’t help that Davo has left two of the most effective players from last year’s series – LSL and Hodgie – on the bench.

Welcome back Lachie! Swinton confirmed as Wallabies name their team

3 official languages? Te Reo Maori and sign language. What is the other one?

Welcome back Lachie! Swinton confirmed as Wallabies name their team

French deserved the win but the last scrum penalty illustrated the need for a rule change. A scrum that is not cheating but just overpowered should not be penalised. Should be just a free kick to the other side.

Go the Kiwis! Let’s hope they go better away from home than in Australia in 19/20 when they looked shocking!

Five key questions ahead of the World Test Championship Final

Marcus Labuschagne left SA to further his cricket career when he was 10?

Devon Conway is yet another talented South African playing for a different country

Spot on. The NZ high speed game of running into gaps and off loading to support players v Aussie league style running at players and going to ground. The sad thing with the reds game last night is that with men up they did play a Nz type game in the first half but then reverted to type when the numbers evened up in the second. As they say- ‘ just express yourself!’!

The Trans-Tasman showed a glaring weakness in Australian rugby

Massive skill gap between top Aussie and second to bottom kiwi team. Not looking good.

Reds crash back to earth with loss to Highlanders

Exciting finish but overall boring game and the skill level was pretty low compared with the NZ final. Not holding out much hope for the Aussie teams in the trans Tasman games.

Super Rugby thriller! Last-ditch James O'Connor try hands Reds the Super Rugby AU title

Totally agree with your scrum law reform. The reality is that most scrum resets are caused by packs trying to milk a penalty so if you take that incentive away things will drastically improve. Otherwise we will continue with games like last night’s with the farce of the referee lecturing professional rugby players on the basics of scrummaging. Keep that up the game will continue to lose fans not gain them.

Three easy changes to improve rugby right now

Basically a lack of self belief. The Wallabies have been conditioned into believing they can sneak a dead rubber game past the ABs but that is all

For the love of God, stop letting the Wallabies play us like this

Let’s face facts – we haven’t got the cattle at the moment. This is the weakest Wallabies side I have seen for many a year but it’s about the best we have available.

Breaking down all of the Wallabies changes for Bledisloe 4

Agree that the only apparent reason for the reluctance of Australia to play NZ is a historical view that NZ is not good enough. It can’t be lack of crowd appeal. I am an Oz in NZ and every second person I know is heading over to the Boxing Day test. I will be there with bells on!

The trans-Tasman series gets its long-overdue top billing

I am from the Chiefs area in NZ and Dave Rennie was an effective coach. He is very much his own man – which can however cause issues when things start to go wrong like during his later years at the Chiefs. No international experience outside of U/20s is also a concern. May have been better to sign him up for a couple of years to prove himself. An Aussie coach would have been preferable but we do not seem to bringing local coaches through to top level.

The Dave Rennie casebook: Can a Kiwi coach the Wallabies again?

One change that would make a difference is to have the awarding of free kicks – not penalties – at scrum time the default with the current exception being cynical infringements. Do this and overnight packs would rediscover the ability to set a scrum and we could get on with the game.

The Rugby World Cup final proves something needs to give

Congratulations South Africa but the final was not a good advertisement for the game. Kicking for position so you can milk kickable scrum penalties would leave first time viewers perplexed as to the attraction of rugby as a spectacle.

CHAMPIONS: Springboks strike late to win third Rugby World Cup

Well impressed with how England seemed to able to turn the ABs over almost at will. Allowed the poms to kick the ball downfield confident they would soon get it back.

All Blacks all over: England knock New Zealand out of Rugby World Cup

Sad but true. Really looked like a badly coached team. Plenty of ball but little game plan.

England eliminate Wallabies in World Cup quarter-final

Best backline we had all year was against the WBs in Perth. Improve that by bringing Petia on the wing and we would have been in with a show. Particularly cannot figure out not starting with JOC given the experience and skill he brings into the midfield

With a massive selection gamble, Michael Cheika rearranges the deck chairs once again

A simple solution is for rugby to do what other sports do and have a citizenship qualification for national sides. The current residency based RFU eligibility rules are based around picking a first XV of players playing in s country – they are not national teams. Change the criteria to being nationals and players with PI citizenship can play for their own country and earn a living playing overseas. As couldNZ Aus players etc.

Also it is incredible that NZ are trying to take the moral high ground on the PI player issue. As I understand it Is in Europe that PI players are exempted from being treated as overseas players in clubs. In NZ with no such exemption they are pressurised into keeping themselves eligible for the ABs and not for their own country.

The plan that will boost rugby in the Pacific

The way Japan played showed the value of having wingers with genuine speed and skill. A lesson for the WBs?

Japan into RWC quarter-finals after beating Scotland 28-21

You argue for players with speed step and guile in the backline then suggest O’Conner be replaced by Kurudrani?

Use Jordan Petaia to re-boot the Wallabies' World Cup challenge

Another game where there was not enough support for the tackles player at the breakdown. Loosies are not getting there. Doesn’t help that this is not a big part of our No 7’s game.
