Loves Rugby, and Cricket. Likes Soccer and NRL. Keen on nearly all sport except AFL cause I grew up in Qld.

Having those on-field presentations really is a winner as far as my young kids are concerned. They love the chance to run around on the field, and meet the players. I appreciate the patience of the players, and loved hearing the team song.

What we've learned from SRP so far: Almost anyone could win the title as fatigue factor makes games wide open

There have been a few of these kinda of articles. See Andrew Webster in SMH earlier in the week. Feels like a cascading series of over reactions. Yeh, Paul Vaughan should not have been mean to the assembed journos, but he has gotten a very large serve back from the media.

The media has a bigger megaphone and more reach than punters or footy players. Probably good for just about everyone to remember that. footy player, citizen, pollie etc.

'You had to be a smartarse': Dear Paul Vaughan, just like NRL players not all journos are 'the worst people'

I would prefer to incur the costs to fly Canberra to Brisbane and watch a game at the excellent Suncorp Stadium, than drive Canberra to Sydney and watch Rugby at the SCG. Watching rugby at a cricket ground, like SCG or MCG or the old Olympic stadium is a poor experience. Far prefer to watch the game in a smaller purpose built stadium that works for games that play on a rectangular pitch. Big miss for attending Rugby at SCG.

Fixtures confirmed: Wallabies return to SCG after 36 years for potential England decider, Wallaroos play tri series

On the connection with Matthew Hayden and cricket. They did both play together in the 1st XI at school when at Ashgrove. Mathew Hayden played for Valleys cricket club. I think John played cricket for Queensland University.

John Eales: Maybe 'Nobody' is perfect?

A fun article to read, and agree with the choice of NRL players and positions.

My NRL first XV to take on union in a crossover game

Adding another service (stan) is certainly a downside. Yep – Kayo had all the sports I watched. The reality is that I will drop services for different times of the year. For me, Netflix will get turned off in a few weeks when the Rugby season starts, and Stan will get turned on. At the end of the Super Rugby season, I plan to turn off Stan.

For me, I was just over Foxtel and the way they were talking down Rugby to get a lower price. I am also happy that more rugby will be on FTA on channel 9. If it is costs me a bit more, then I am still happy with the overall outcome.

You can now sign up for Stan Sport ahead of the Super Rugby season

Hoping the picture quality is good, and getting over the concept of paying extra for HD. Cancelled my foxtel subcription today. I got Foxtel first for Rugby and that has always been 95% of the reason why I had foxtel. YAY!

On the other hand, gotta get better at cancelling services when they are not being used. Now have Fetch, Netflix, Disney, Kayo and going to get Stan. I think Netflix will get a rest for a while.
