Can only totally agree, there are so many stories to cover from the refugee migrants rising through the system and now playing for Australia.
Plus so many interesting marquee players from all around the world, who a lot are journey men, but such interesting experiences and stories of where they come from.
I love AFL but just same old boring stories rehashed over and over to keep it in the news.
Just need someone like Larry Kestleman or the ARL flog to point the ship in the right direction. Yes JJ could be that person if thrown the reins!!

A-Leagues confirm brutal staff purge as game's bold $40m vision goes up in smoke

After APL stuffed up the grand final hosting rights, I believe the APL would have only negotiated with the NSW government to host United round to plaster over another mistake. Hopefully SA and other states will have a chance to host the United round in years to come, it’s not original but a good concept and perfect time of year when quite a few still on holidays to make the trip.
How good does Frank Lowey look now?

There are still signs of life in the A-League Men despite the 'bureaucratic nonsense' of the APL

I kind of agree with Townsend, I wanted him to do all the right things, but cant think of to many. I think ONE leader can make a difference. Look how Frank Lowy started from scratch then handed over to his son and now Townsend continuing the decline.
The NBL basketball was in doldrums for years then Larry Kestelman took over and now its back where it should be mainly because of Larry. I dont follow NRL but I know who Peter V’landys is.
Not sure who can take over but Townsend has his head berried in the sand. Its a great product the A-League, and I really fear the path its taking. As being a MV member I want to see cutting the marque players to two good ones then so there is more room for the young guys to play regular football not sitting on the pine!

Does the A-League have a plan to win back alienated supporters?

Well said Stuart, completely agree with your article and keep up the great work.
My opinion is the FFA has to step in and do something and not pretend nothing happened as the AFL have continually done with racism. I too love AFL, and they do some great work around other issues and in with community programs, but you just have to see how Adam Goodes was handled with Dillon looking the other way, its just one of many issues over its 150 years and still going.
Agree the A-League was in part created to avoid these idiots. Ban SU for a year, soccer doesn’t need them.

'Sick to the stomach': Night of utter shame as Welcome to Country booed and fans display Nazi salutes

Completely agree adelaidefc. 10 play and Paramount don’t work with Samsung TV so Chromecast is fine and you get over that hurdle. They need to broadcast at least half the games on free to air to get the supporters back, or will end up like English cricket buried behind a pay wall and no one playing cricket/football anymore.
I enjoy going to the matches live (cost on an away game is over the top) but the coverage isn’t up to standard, trying to do it at low cost. They seem to have enough cameras there when a goal is scored, as you get replays from all angles, but during play it taken from the top of the stand and they never zoom in to show the skills of the players. The clown directing the broadcast just needs to flick from one camera to another occasionally.

The A-Leagues are on fire, so how do we get more people to watch?
