Absolutely. It’s a massive pain to get out to Parra. Last game I went to was the WB v ARG game last year. No additional trains, so express trains. Took over 1.5hours to get out there. Do SFS, and you’ll pack it out. Accor will not sell out…

Rugby News: Wallabies legend's son set for Italy Test move, RA want daytime Bledisloe, Force re-sign coach, Super Rugby law change

Absolutely great point: Dan McKeller, Stephen Larkham and Andy Friend were all genuine contenders we were told, but they are all at crucial parts of their own coaching development. They all need probably another two years in the club scene with ideally one of them winning their respective comps (aside from Friend who has no club). In fact, I would to see Andy Friend in there somewhere as an assistant coach. He’s quality, but yeah, needs some international exposure (outside of the 7s).

COMMENT: In trading Greatest Showman for 'boring' and 'pragmatic' Sleepy Joe, RA gambling with game's future

Every single rugby fan in Australia would rather welcome a mute who wins on the park, then a loudmouth who wins no games (aside from two sure things against Tier 2 nations). EJ brought the game to the public sure, but in doing so made things exponentially worse for the game by bringing in new people who now instead of being impartial, actually hate the game. The Matildas won over the public not with a loudmouth know-it-all coach, but by winning. If the Wallabies win, Schmidt can rightly sit at the press conference and let the Captain say something for a nice change.

He will just fit in to league, as they all do, because he’s fit and has the type of build that’s suited to the game. But he won’t be a superstar. Unless he’s a God-man like Clearly, which he isn’t as he’s not a playmaker, he will just fade into oblivion there. Very poor choice from him and his manager to switch.

Rugby News: 'Good to have someone with that success' - Wallabies welcome Schmidt, SA referee calls time

Absolutely agree. He an run off the bench for the Tahs, but definitely no caps for the WBs

Rugby News: 'Good to have someone with that success' - Wallabies welcome Schmidt, SA referee calls time

I absolutely hate the ‘fans’ that take to social media and slag off referees. Some of the comments towards the officials during and after the RWC were so bad I was actually embarrassed to be rugby supporter. Having said all that however, criticism can still exist and here’s mine: Jaco Peyper was probably the worst professional ref on the circuit, so it’s probably no bad thing that he’s hung up the boots. Mathieu Raynal, surely to God, mate, you’re next haha.

No one takes Clive Woodward seriously. The fact that his columns are in the Daily Mail suggest they’re nothing other than rubbish.

Deals were done by people with little regard for the game, so it checks out.

There is absolutely no way that ROG would come anywhere near the Wallabies.

RA must not fixate on an Aussie coach - why Ronan O'Gara is best choice to lead Wallabies after the Eddie calamity

I think you need to understand that Roar rugby community just want the game to succeed and for rugby to be ‘great again’. For decades we have suffered time and time again on the back of some terrible decision making. We aren’t apart of the admin processes at all; only attending the games and paying hard-earned money to watch our beloved Wallabies lose or play well below their potential. We don’t vote the Chairman in and we aren’t on the board. All we can really do is get behind the game and want whoever is in charge to do the right thing by the game; even if we don’t think they’re the right person, or the right decisions are made.

New chair says Aussie rugby must end 'sugar hit' approach, 'fears' for game's future if reform doesn't occur quickly

Who honestly reads The Australian and thinks they aren’t just for the 1% / ‘Big End of Town’!? Their other main article was defending Rosmarin. Yes, the same Rosmarin who oversaw the worst data spills in Australian history and a network shutdown which saw tens of thousands of businesses (many whom were small businesses) lose a full day of trading in an already desperate economic time, only to offer them data as compensation. Like, come on. The faster we stop reading Murdoch, the faster he and his minions can disappear.

Thankfully his terrible leadership that drove the Wallabies to their worst ever result at a WC will almost certainly unite the Unions. It was so important that the EJ / McLennan train wreck was resolved before the new year. 2024 will be a new year with new leadership.

'They can't lean on me': Why McLennan bailed on the board as 'agitators' welcome 'honourable decision'

Narcissism is defined as “inordinate fascination with oneself; excessive self-love”. Based on that definition and his comments, McLennan is a total narcissist. It’s almost unfathomable that anyone could bring the game into such disrepute and towards the absolute brink of total ruin and still come away saying “It’s a power grab” and “I’ve probably done something for rugby every day for the last three years. And I’ve given them my all. I feel like if we were batting, we’re going for sixes every decision that we made”. Totally divorced from reality. How about the comment “For all the Wallaby detractors, don’t watch the game”. He should be made to pay reparations to the game for all the damage he’s done! Not our (Wallabies/RA) problem anymore, but regrettably he’ll still almost certainly get another CEO position within a top business within Australia.

'They can't lean on me': Why McLennan bailed on the board as 'agitators' welcome 'honourable decision'

It’s a shame, really. I’d much prefer he stay than Raynall or Peyper.

'Just a game, k---heads': Why world's top rugby ref has decided to give the game away

Well he’s shown to now be irrelevant in the coaching world. He’s stuck in 2019 and anyone that watches international rugby will know how much rugby has changed tactically since then. He’s chasing ground, and will never catch up.

'Load of rubbish': Eddie tees off on 'red herring' excuse for Wallabies' RWC flop, rejects Hoops issue, Lions link

Absolutely. He never solved that problem. In fact, he made it worse by trying to shoehorn the Farrell / Smith, 12 and 10 respectively, work. Which it didn’t. Farrell is not a 12. Smith is similar to MacKenzie , and MacKenzie’s best work is at 15. Never listen to EJ for advice. He’s like Sir Clive: irrelevant and from a time well long gone.

'Load of rubbish': Eddie tees off on 'red herring' excuse for Wallabies' RWC flop, rejects Hoops issue, Lions link

Why is Jones even coaching the BaBas? They play with excitement and flair; a style of play the Wallabies used to play with before Jones. These last dozen or so games we saw the Wallabies go from almost relying on a promising and exciting backline to almost excluding them entirely in lieu one of the most monotonous, predictable and mostly useless styles of play.

Try not to think about it – it will only make you sad! haha

CONFIRMED: Eddie blames RA for early exit as Woodward calls for Rennie apology, ex-ABs coach linked to role

Sort of, but not really. The BBL is continuing to remain relevant with it’s fans because it’s constantly bringing in new stars that promote the game with winning and ‘exciting’ style of play (personally the BBL sucks; test match cricket or nothing). Rugby isn’t winning recently and some might even say not exciting. So we need to remain connected to the last winners; tragically.

CONFIRMED: Eddie blames RA for early exit as Woodward calls for Rennie apology, ex-ABs coach linked to role

Larkham said during his podcast with the Roar earlier this year he doesn’t want the job to coach the WBs. He wants to build his own game and skill set at the Brumbies and get more time up. Which is sensible and shows maturity. Do not rush him in and then heap pressure on him unecessarily. Dan McKellar probably needs to do the same. Andy Friend is my pick. He’s keen for an international gig after doing wonders at Connacht. Get him in!

'Completely unfair': Eddie sledge that angered Waugh, new coaching contenders emerge to rebuild Wallabies

Wrong! U12s at least throw the ball around and can do ‘through the hands’. Our backline touched it once at the start for a try and then never saw the ball again. I would so much rather watch U12s.

CONFIRMED: Eddie blames RA for early exit as Woodward calls for Rennie apology, ex-ABs coach linked to role

I’ve said it on here, but I’ll say it again: that game in Pretoria earlier this year, was the worst game I’d ever seen the Wallabies play in over 25 years. In terms of game plan, the tactics were erratic and bizarre; a style of play which clearly did not suit any of the players’ strengths. I’ve never seen such a disjointed WBs team. It honestly looked like none of them had played before. The only time the backline touched the ball was when Koroibete scored a try within 5 mins; then they never touched it again. Time and time again, box kicks were made, and time again the Boks dealt with them as easy as they pleased. That lasted the full 80 minutes, without any consideration to adapt to the conditions and change the plan. The feeling after watching that game was one of plain shock. I couldn’t believe what I had just witnessed. Then I watched the game in the RWC against Wales and it was as bad. Plenty more time and games in between, but nothing had changed. Off the field it was nothing but change, but on the field, it remained exactly the same: just terrible, terrible rugby.

CONFIRMED: Eddie blames RA for early exit as Woodward calls for Rennie apology, ex-ABs coach linked to role

I was talking about this with friends this morning after one of them suggested we need more Nick Farr-Jones’ and John Eales’ to come in to fix things. I had to disagree with him and this is why: RA needs to stop going back to the 90s well and appointing the old boys in administration positions. We need educated, professional, and most importantly, unprejudiced business people, not people who played the game when it was amateur/semi professional coming in and running things. The game then, and the game now, are two completely different things. The last thing we need are ex-players or coaches from a by-gone era getting the job because they played two to three decades ago and probably got a job post-career through similar connections. Where we do want them though, is promoting the game. On social media or wherever to promote the game and ‘give their blessing’, but they should absolutely stay out of the boardrooms when it comes to making business decisions in the professional era.

Andy Friend would be my pick. He’s Australian and a good bloke. People would want to work for him. Oh, and he’s a good coach.
