Adelaide will get more through the gate number 1, but number 2 and more importantly, more cricket will be played and therefore broadcasters who fund the entire game will like that I would be thinking.

I highly recommend Peter Oborne’s biography of Basil, written in 2004 when Basil was ~ 70 and approved of the book. It is a fantastic book tracing growing up in South Africa and then the rest of his life in England. An absolute eye opener and must to understand what it really was like in South Africa under Apartheid Rule. (In one word – frightening) ……

Disagree, England were away most of 2020. They have ben away a LOT more than 4 months of the year, you need to check your calendars for the last 5 years. Not taking into account the stresses of Covid bubbles. These are very unusual times. Postpone the Ashes for a year. We will survive. Focus on a domestic summer.

Cannot compare 2021 to 1971 in terms of girlfriends and wives and children on tour 9 months of the year. Unworkable. Plus not sure they’d want to be up close to what goes on back then. Different world. Incomparable.
